Accommodations on Utopia of the Seas
Utopia of the Seas offers a range of accommodations for all budgets and group sizes. From cozy interior rooms to incredible multi-room suites, every stateroom is designed for comfort and convenience. Many of the staterooms offer one Royal King Bed, which can convert into two twin-sized beds. This option provides a lot of flexibility for sleeping arrangements and is a great option if you are traveling with a friend.
Suite Class
The most luxurious category of rooms on the Utopia of the Seas. Royal Suite Class rooms have accommodations that can sleep up to 9 guests and range from 301 to 2,604 square feet. A variety of suites are available, such as a junior suite, which can accommodate up to 5 guests and includes a separate sitting area.
There's also the AquaTheater Suite that has one bedroom that sleeps up to four guests with extra room and a unique view looking down into the AquaTheater.
The Solarium Suite is unique to the Utopia of the Seas. This suite offers 280-degree panoramic views from the ship's front. The living and dining areas in the suite feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, and guests staying in this suite enjoy Royal Suite Class Star status, granting them VIP services, priority access to venues and a personal Royal Genie concierge.
Ocean View Staterooms
Ocean View Balcony Staterooms are for those who love waking up to the sights and sounds of the ocean. These rooms include a private balcony and are the perfect retreat for guests who want an area right off their bedroom to relax and take in the ocean. If you want views of the ocean, but at a slightly lower price point, Ocean View rooms are also available with in-stateroom windows that look out to the ocean (but do not have a balcony). This option is especially great for those with tadpoles who may want to watch out the window. Ocean View rooms range from 174 to 364 square feet, while balcony rooms range from 181 to 304 square feet.
Central Park View and Boardwalk View Balcony Staterooms
Unique to Oasis-class ships, these rooms overlook either the Central Park or the Boardwalk neighborhood. From some of the Boardwalk View balconies, you can even see the nighttime aqua show! Balcony rooms range from 181 to 304 square feet.
Hop Tip: While you may be able to see the Aqua show from a Boardwalk Balcony room, be aware that you may also be able to hear the show at night during its performances. If you prefer a quieter balcony stateroom, we recommend Central Park or Ocean views.
Interior Staterooms
The most budget-friendly option, these rooms provide 150 to 270 square feet of space with designs that maximize space efficiency.
Utopia of the Seas Neighborhoods
Utopia of the Seas has eight distinct neighborhoods. From family-friendly entertainment to quiet places to relax, this ship has it all!
1. Royal Promenade
This neighborhood is where you first board the ship and it serves as the heart of Utopia of the Seas. The Royal Promenade spans two levels (Decks 5 and 6). Lined with shops, restaurants and bars. Guests can enjoy live entertainment while enjoying a variety of food and drinks. There are also lots of shops — the perfect place to pick up a special souvenir to remember your trip.
Here are a couple of our Royal Promenade favorites:
- The Rising Tide Bar — As guests enjoy their drinks, the lounge slowly rises and lowers between the ship decks, which gives a one-of-a-kind view as you sip your drink.
- Sorrento’s Pizza — serves fresh slices of pizza with a variety of toppings. The items in this quick service style dining option are included with your cruise.
- Starbucks — this location in the promenade serves up coffee favorites at an additional cost. For complimentary coffee, Cafe Promenade is open 24 hours a day and serves hot coffee and tea as well as a variety of deli-style food options.
2. Central Park
Central Park is an open-air area on Deck 8, right in the middle of the ship. It's filled with real plants, trees and flowers, complete with garden paths and seating.
You can take a peaceful stroll or dine at upscale restaurants. One option, Chops Grille (extra cost), is an American steakhouse known for high-quality meats, lobster and white-truffle mushroom soup.
The Park Cafe (included) is great for breakfast and offers fresh sandwiches for lunch.
3. Boardwalk
Located on Deck 6 Aft, this neighborhood is inspired by classic seaside boardwalks. Guests can take a spin on the hand-carved carousel, catch high-diving performances at night in the AquaTheater and grab a bite at Johnny Rockets (additional cost), which serves up classic American diner fare such as burgers and shakes. Boardwalk Dog House is a complimentary dining option for any guests looking for a classic boardwalk food item: a hot dog! The selection ranges from a traditional hot dog to fully loaded options.
The Boardwalk neighborhood is a favorite for families. It has a fun atmosphere where you can find games and entertainment, all with an ocean view. We even spotted complementary face painting in this area during our recent cruise.
4. Entertainment Place
A haven for nightlife and world-class performances, Entertainment Place is located on Deck 4. Here you can find Broadway-style productions, live music and the casino.
The Royal Theater hosts spectacular shows, while Casino Royale invites guests to try their luck at poker, blackjack and slot machines. Studio B is also located here and where the ice skating rink is located for one of the ship’s premier nightly shows. During the day, Studio B is also used for guest open ice skating and laser tag, which is complimentary. We highly recommend!
5. Vitality at Sea Spa & Fitness Center
Located on the forward of Deck 6, Vitality at Sea Spa & Fitness Center is all about wellness and relaxation. The spa offers a variety of treatments, including massages, facials and acupuncture at an additional cost. Guests can participate in yoga and fitness classes or work out in the fully equipped gym with ocean views.
Some of the fitness classes are complementary — we tried the included 45-minute stretching class on our last cruise. No sign-up is required and be sure to check the Royal Caribbean app when aboard for the fitness class schedule.
Note: Guests under 12 are not allowed in the fitness center and guests ages 13-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
6. Pool and Sports Zone
This action-packed area is designed for both thrill-seekers and relaxation enthusiasts. With multiple pools located on Deck 15, guests can lounge in the sun or take a refreshing dip. The pool area also has music and various events throughout the day, so it's always a hoppin' spot.
Indulge your ice cream cravings at Sprinkles, where you can enjoy all the soft serve ice cream your heart desires. Pick your favorite soft-serve flavor or mix things up with a swirl. After grabbing your cone, there is a separate area where you can cover your ice cream with your choice of sprinkles! If you’re looking for quiet and relaxation, the Solarium is an adults-only escape with lounge seating, whirlpools and a bar.
Beyond the pools, there are even more complimentary activities available in this neighborhood. Adventurous guests can take on the challenge of riding the waves on the FlowRider surf simulator on Deck 16 or take the plunge down The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest dry slide at sea.
Deck 16 has a mini-golf course with an aquatic theme and a full-size basketball court. There's also a large rock climbing wall at the back of the ship that stretches across multiple decks.
7. Youth Zones
The Youth Zone is a fun space for kids and teens. Teens have their own area called Social 100, with an outdoor patio on Deck 17 and an indoor lounge on Deck 16. For kids ages three to 12, there are different programs and areas based on their age group, filled with activities to keep them entertained. If you're traveling with a child under three, there’s a baby and tots program that offers nursery-style drop-off care with trained staff for an extra fee.
Hop over to this post on why we LOVE sailing Royal Caribbean with kids!
8. Suite Neighborhood
The Suite Neighborhood is a private area just for guests staying in suites. It includes the Suite Lounge on the back of Deck 17, a private lounge for suite guests and Coastal Kitchen, a restaurant serving upscale food. There's also the Suite Sun Deck on the back of Deck 18, a private sun deck for relaxing. This neighborhood gives suite guests a more private and VIP experience on the ship.
