This Walt Disney World Parade Guide features the Frog Family’s all-time favorite Disney parade...the Main Street Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom.
Overview: Main Street Electrical Parade is a nighttime parade that lights up the parade route through Magic Kingdom. The floats and other parade elements use enhanced lighting technology like LED and special effects. Led by Tinker Bell, the glittering processional includes Goofy driving the Main Street Electrical Parade train which carries Mickey and Minnie, Alice in Wonderland atop her mushroom, Cinderella in her Pumpkin Carriage, Elliott and his dragon, Pete, and many other Disney favorites. The costuming and overall visual effects are amazing!
During busy times of the year, Main Street Electrical Parade may run twice a night. During off-peak season, it may not run every night. The duration of the parade is about 20 minutes.
The parade route begins next to the Harmony Barbershop on Main Street, U.S.A., circles Town Square, heads down Main Street, U.S.A., goes around the Central Plaza in front of Cinderella Castle, crosses the bridge to Liberty Square, follows the waterfront in Frontierland and ends in Frontierland. (Sometimes the route is reversed.).
Planning Tips:
If Celebrate the Magic and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular fireworks show are scheduled after the parade and you want to watch them all, you’ll need to select a viewing spot that will work for all three since you won’t have to time to move to another location. In this circumstance, we recommend saving your spot somewhere along Main Street, U.S.A. at least 30-45 minutes before the parade.
A less crowded viewing spot is toward the end of the parade route in Frontierland. You won’t need to save your spot as early and you won’t have to fight the crowds on Main Street, U.S.A. following the parade.
One of our favorite Disney parades, frog legs down! We love how you can actually feel the heat from the lights on the floats. The synthesized sound of the underlying song gets stuck in our heads, but we love it…we usually spend the rest of the night at Magic Kingdom skipping along humming it out loud.
