Harbored in Pearl Harbor, the USS Arizona Memorial is built over the remains of the sunken battleship USS Arizona, commemorating the final resting place for many of the 1,177 crewmen killed on December 7, 1941 when Pearl Harbor was attacked. The attack was one of the worst naval disasters in the country's history and led to the United States' involvement in World War II.
