Waimea Valley
Frog Family Rating:
Beautifully lush botanical gardens, rich cultural history and a scenic, accessible paved hike to a waterfall swimming hole await you in Waimea Valley. All along the path, enjoy the ribbeting variety of plant life, the most diverse collection preserved and studied in any one place on Oahu. As you hop along, be sure to check out signs and markers that provide insight into Hawaiian culture and history, including historical structures that were constructed during the Hawaiian monarchy. At the end of the paved hike, the 45-foot tall Waimea Falls spills over into a natural swimming hole where you can jump in to cool off those frog legs. Home to the Toa Luau, Waimea Valley continues to serve as a respite for Hawaiian spirituality and traditions.
