What we love
- Pirate-themed pool, slide, hot tubs and water play area at the Spanish fortress, Fuentes Del Morro
- Murphy beds added to most standard rooms will sleep up to five
- Beautiful landscaping, with a lush, tropical vibe
- 1.2-mile running trail around the property
- Internal resort bus will take you to all villages and Custom House
- Each of the six villages has quiet pools
- Market Street is one of our favorite food courts, with a good variety of hot and grab-and-go items
- This hotel is the only Moderate hotel on the Disney Skyliner gondola system
- Free parking!
Keep in Mind
- Largest property of the Moderate Resort Hotels; the resort has its own internal bus transportation
- Guests without transportation take buses from Custom House to their room
- Your walk to the lobby, pool and dining areas can be quite long if your room is far away
- Check-in and bell services are done at the Custom House; which is not connected to the lobby
- Pirate-themed rooms are double beds and further from the main building rooms in Trinidad South
Notable Facts
- Opened in 1988, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort was Disney's first Moderate Resort Hotel
- Old Port Royal, also called Centertown, is the main hub of activity with its restaurants, concierge and feature pool
- Bikes can be rented at Old Port Royal from the Barefoot Bay Marina and Bike Works
Frog Family Tips
- Book a preferred room in Buildings 24, 25, and 26 in Martinique and 31, 32 and 33 in Trinidad to be closest to the Fuentes del Morro Pool and dining (we prefer buildings 26, 25 and 31)
- Check-in at the Custom House, which is separate from the lobby
- On pretty days, take your lunch or dinner from the Old Port Royale Food Court to the covered tables near the pool area
- Guests who are unable to use stairs should request first-floor rooms as there are no elevators in any of the "villages"
- Pick up a volleyball at the marina and play at Barbados Village
- Request a corner room for an additional window that offers more natural light (not all requests are guaranteed)
Best For
- Families of five; those who want more amenities than the Value Resort Hotels offer but don't need multiple on-site table-service options and the other amenities of the Deluxe Resort Hotels
