Want to know what's going to be closed while you're visiting Walt Disney World Resort? We've put together this list of Disney World refurbishments and closings for the theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs and hotels. Refurbishments are temporary closures, usually scheduled in advance but can also take place last minute. Permanent closures are rides that are no longer active in the parks, and seasonal ones are those that take place annually. While we regularly update this post, please note that all refurbishments and closures are subject to change without notice.

Here is a list of all temporary Disney World closings. It is not uncommon for Disney to change refurbishment times — to move up or postpone temporary closures — so check back as your trip gets closer! We update this post every week to reflect any changes.

You may have heard about some of the exciting new developments coming to Disney World over the next few years, including a new Monsters, Inc. Land at Hollywood Studios, the retheming of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to include the Muppets, a new Tropical Americas section in Animal Kingdom taking over for DinoLand USA and even new Cars and Villains Lands coming to Magic Kingdom. We've got the details below on any construction or closures making way for these new spaces and will continue to update once confirmed. Walt Disney World® Resort Hotel Refurbishments
These are the temporary Walt Disney World Resort Hotel closings, such as pools, shops, restaurants or any other type of rehab the hotels are undergoing. Always be sure to check this list as your trip gets closer!
Disney Skyliner
- From Jan. 25-31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available for Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Disney's Beach and Yacht Club Resorts.

- From January 2026 to late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool will continue to be available. Additionally, guests are welcome to use the pools at other Disney's All-Star Resorts.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

- Refurbishments will occur in select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort — including Bay Lake Tower and the Convention Center — from September 2024 to July 2026. During this time, the Skyway Bridge may have intermittent closures, but alternative walking paths can be used. Please allow for extra travel time. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.
- From Jan. 26, 2026, to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, water play area and whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, water play area and whirlpool spa at Disney's Contemporary Resort will remain open for guests to enjoy.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
- Room refurbishment work will take place at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort from September 2024 to July 2026.
- From Jan. 26, 2026, to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, water play area and whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, water play area and whirlpool spa at Disney's Contemporary Resort will remain open for guests to enjoy.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- None
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
- Beginning early May 2025, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin' Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin' Pool and Wilderness Swimmin' Pool will remain open for guests to enjoy. A brand-new zero-entry pool and deck area is being added alongside the existing pool. The nearby tennis courts, volleyball court and the Meadow Playground will be closed temporarily, as the expansion will also include a tennis court and two pickleball courts. Guests may see and hear construction in the area until the work is complete.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- From April to November 2025, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be undergoing refurbishment in the lobby and convention center areas. Guests may see and hear construction during daytime hours. In addition, portions of the lobby may be closed at times, but pools, dining and most other Resort hotel areas will remain available. Please allow extra time for travel, as some adjustments to walking paths may be in place.
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available. Please allow for extra travel time.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Some areas of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished through 2026. Guests may see and hear some daytime construction, starting at 9 a.m. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted.
- Starting June 2, 2025, BouTiki will undergo maintenance, during which half the store will be closed while the other half will remain open — work is expected to be completed by end of June.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
- Some areas of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished through 2026. Guests may see and hear some daytime construction, starting at 9 a.m. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted.
- From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, guest rooms at Pop Century will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will be available, guests may notice construction during daytime hours.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- From early May 2025 to the end of February 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend section will undergo refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

- Starting Aug. 5, 2024, Disney's Wilderness Lodge will undergo exterior refurbishment work. During this time, guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.
The Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- From mid-May 2025 to September 2025, Copper Creek Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will undergo exterior refurbishment work. During this time, guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.
- Disney's Yacht Club Resort will be undergoing exterior maintenance from early July through October 2025. During this time, the porte cochere will be closed. While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours. All services — including valet, luggage assistance and transportation — will remain available, and most Resort amenities will continue to be offered.

Walt Disney World Seasonal Closures
Seasonal closures are those that take place annually and are usually a reoccurrence. These dates are estimates based on past closures.
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park: Closes November through April for seasonal refurbishment
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park: Closes May through October for seasonal refurbishment (however, in 2025, it will remain open from May 21 to Sept. 7)
- Kali River Rapids: Usually closes early January into February and sometimes March for seasonal refurbishment
- Jungle Cruise: Closes late Oct./early Nov. for holiday overlay installation; early January for holiday overlay removal
