FROG FAMILY REVIEW
Disney's Wilderness Lodge*

What we love

  • Exposed pine timber, mission-style furniture and 7-foot-story totem poles in the lobby
  • Rugged natural setting of the pool, which overlooks an erupting geyser!
  • Boat ride to Magic Kingdom® Park and nightly views of the Electrical Water Pageant
  • Surrey biking and carriage rides through the wooded nature paths
  • Smaller resort means it doesn’t take long to get to lobby and pool
  • Home to one of the most romantic restaurants on property at Artist Point
  • Free parking!

Keep in Mind

  • Hotel charges $33 per night (sales tax included) for valet parking
  • One of the only Deluxe Resort Hotels not on the monorail to Magic Kingdom® Park
  • Shares bus service, so wait times can be a little bit longer
  • Standard room sizes are on the smaller side for Deluxe Resort Hotels and only sleep 4 (plus an infant in a crib)

Notable Facts

  • The geyser outside the Lodge erupts every hour on the hour from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The Lodge lobby is themed after the grand forest lodges of the Pacific Northwest and is meant to evoke the grandeur of Yellowstone’s 1904 Old Faithful Inn
  • You can learn more about the Lodge by taking The Wonders of the Lodge Tour, offered Wednesday through Saturday at 9 a.m.

Frog Family Tips

  • Stop by the front desk and ask for a Hidden Mickeys Hunt that offers clues to find all of the Hidden Mickeys at the resort
  • Order family-style at Whispering Canyon Cafe for the best value and all-you-can-eat offerings
  • Request upper floor rooms 2000-6034 or 2130-6169 for best views (not all room requests are guaranteed)

Best For

  • Families, especially nature-lovers, who want the incredible theming and amenities of a Deluxe Resort Hotel, including casual and upscale dining, at a lower price point than the Monorail Resorts

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Information

The majesty and grandeur of the great Northwest American spirit echo throughout this relaxing mountain retreat. The bubbling springs and gushing geysers add to the authentic untamed wilderness charm and the inspiring décor pays homage to American craftsmanship and the historic National Park lodges of yesteryear. And the scenic restaurants are attractions in themselves.

EXCLUSIVE THEME PARK BENEFITS:
  • Early Theme Park Entry for Resort Hotel Guests - guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can get a 30-minute jump on their Disney day with early theme park entry—available at all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks—for each day of your stay, subject to capacity
  • Extended Evening Theme Park Hours – guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels or Disney Deluxe Villas and other select hotels can enjoy extended evening hours—experiencing select attractions, shops, and dining after regular park hours—in select theme parks on select nights.

Planning to visit a theme park? To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid theme park ticket, for the same park on the same date, are required for Guests ages 3 and up. Keep in mind: a hotel reservation does not guarantee theme park access (though Disney Hotel Guests do have access to a separate pool), and you’ll need a Disney account to make a separate theme park reservation. Prior to booking, be sure to view theme park reservation availability as park reservations are limited in availability and not guaranteed. You can check the reservation availability here.

Face coverings are optional for Guests in both indoor and outdoor locations. However, face coverings are not permitted while experiencing water slides or in the water.
