2023 NFL Schedule — Dates and Details
If you're ready for some football, NFL Preseason opened with the New York Jets vs. the Cleveland Browns Aug. 3, 2023, (7 p.m. ET), and continued through Aug. 27.
The 2023 NFL season officially began with the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Detroit Lions Sept. 7 (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). In Week 1, get ready for a double doubleheader on Sunday, Sept. 10. Green Bay and Chicago met at Soldier Field, while the Los Angeles Rams headed to Seattle to face the Seahawks. Then, NBC's Sunday Night Football kicked off with the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants (8:20 p.m. ET).
Last year's change to the NFL schedule — extending it to 17 games — sent 10 teams to international neutral-site matchups. The international games began in London at Wembley Stadium in Week 4 between Jacksonville and Atlanta (9:30 a.m. ET, ESPN+) before moving to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hosting Jacksonville and Buffalo in Week 5 (9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network) and Tennessee and Baltimore in Week 6 (9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network). The Jaguars became the first NFL team to play two regular-season games internationally in the same season.
Frankfurt, Germany played host to the next round of international games: Dolphins vs. Chiefs in Week 9 (9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network), and Colts vs. Patriots in Week 10 (9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network).
The Madden Thanksgiving Celebration featured three divisional matchups (Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023). First, the Packers headed to Detroit (12:30 p.m. ET, FOX). Then, the Washington Commanders played the Dallas Cowboys (4:30 p.m. ET, CBS) — with the fabulous Dolly Parton as the halftime performer. And the Thanksgiving Day festivities finished with the 49ers in Seattle at the Seahawks (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC).
The regular season will wrap Week 18 on Saturday, Jan. 6, and Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024. Capping it all off, Super Bowl LVIII will take place Feb. 11, 2024.
