The Anaheim Ducks are an NHL team that plays just minutes from Disneyland and was even owned by Disney at one point. The Ducks' colors are black, metallic gold, orange and silver, but you might see retro "Mighty Ducks" colors of jade and eggplant from the 1990s and early 2000s on long-time fans, especially this year, as the retro colors came back for the Ducks' 30th season! Despite changing names and going from Disney-adjacent to hard-edge hockey, this championship team has a loyal fanbase and an enthusiastic mascot duck, Wild Wing, who wears a hockey mask and a jersey with the number 93, the year the team was founded.

Overview of the Anaheim Ducks
The Anaheim Ducks are an NHL hockey team based in Anaheim, CA. The Ducks compete in the Western Conference as a member of the Pacific Division.
Whenever we think of the Anaheim Ducks, we can't help but sing "The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim" in our heads. If you must hear this hard-rock anthem, you can search for the similar "Rock the Pond" song on the D2 soundtrack (you're welcome). Yes, this team, located just minutes from Disneyland, was established as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 1993. The team was inspired by the Disney movie of the same name. The ice arena used to be called "The Arrowhead Pond," or "The Pond." So, of course, we frogs were instant fans. Disney sold the team in 2005, and the team became known as the Anaheim Ducks for the 2006-2007 season. Honda paid for naming rights of the arena in 2006, renaming it the Honda Center.
Score! The Anaheim Ducks won their first Stanley Cup championship in 2007. Looking ahead, the Ducks have a young foundation with high-end talent at center and defense. Maybe there will be another Stanley Cup in the future!
One of the Ducks' biggest rivals is longtime rival is the Los Angeles Kings to the north. The Freeway Face-Off is an exciting ice hockey rivalry between the Ducks and Kings. Both SoCal teams have a rivalry with the San Jose Sharks who are even further north.
Honda Center
Anaheim Ducks home games are played at the Honda Center. The Honda Center is located across the way from Angel Stadium and ARTIC, which means you can often find great public transportation to games and events. It's also a great spot to catch a concert, comedy act or Disney on Ice.
The Honda Center is just down the street from Disneyland. In fact, each winter, Disney California Adventure hosts Anaheim Ducks Days with players from the Anaheim Ducks, Wild Wing and fun activities in the theme park. find out more in our Disneyland special events post.
