How to Get Tickets to Brooklyn Nets Games

by Mommy Frog on November 20, 2023
New York City

Put on your black, white and gray. It's Brooklyn Nets game day! If you are loud and love to cheer on the Nets, you can join the Brooklyn Brigade, a group of loud, proud and passionate Nets fans. They sit in the BK Block seating section in Section 1 to support their team at home Brooklyn Nets games. "LET'S GO BROOKLYN! LET'S GO NETS!" Here's what you need to know about the Brooklyn Nets tickets and getting tickets to see them play live.

Overview of the Nets

The Nets started in 1967 as a charter franchise of the NBA's rival league, the American Basketball Association (ABA). The team played in New Jersey (as the New Jersey Americans) before relocating to Long Island, New York in 1968. They changed their name to the New York Nets. The team got its name because Nets rhymes with Mets and Jets, baseball and football teams that also play in the New York area. And the name relates to basketball, of course. The team moved back to New Jersey for 35 seasons as the New Jersey Nets before heading to Brooklyn in 2012 and taking on the Brooklyn name.

The Nets play in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. As a member of the ABA, the Nets won two championships in the 1970s. The ABA and NBA merged shortly after. The team has reached the playoffs 19 times, and won four Atlantic Division titles and two Eastern Conference championships. The Nets went to the NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003.

The Nets are one of two NBA teams in New York City. The New York Knicks, one of the Brooklyn Nets' biggest rivals, also play in NYC, in Madison Square Garden. Historically, the Nets have the upper hand in that rivalry in terms of wins. Other longstanding rivals include the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics.

The Nets play at the Barclays Center in the heart of Brooklyn, a borough of NYC. The state-of-the-art, multi-purpose indoor arena is a popular place to attend concerts, comedy shows and other events.
