An Overview of Cedar Fair Theme Parks

California's Great America — Santa Clara, California

Located in the San Francisco Bay area, California's Great America is home to more than 60 rides, including roller coasters and family-friendly rides. It even has South Bay Shores Water Park, which is included with general admission. This Northern California amusement park is open year-round (only on weekends during off-peak months but open daily during the summer).

Carowinds — Charlotte, North Carolina

Carowinds sits right on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina, with more than 60 attractions for thrill seekers and families alike. Its popular ride, Fury 325, has consistently been ranked as one of the world's best steel roller coasters. Starting with the 2023 season, Carowinds is now open year-round (only on weekends during off-peak months but open daily during the summer).

Cedar Point — Sandusky, Ohio

Known as "the roller coaster capital of the world," Cedar Point boasts 18 world-class coasters, along with dozens of attractions for families and kids. Later in 2023, Cedar Point will introduce a brand-new section of the park — The Boardwalk — which will add a Wild Mouse coaster, a dining venue and additional family rides along Cedar Point Beach. The amusement park is only open seasonally, starting May 6 for the 2023 season.

Dorney Park — Allentown, Pennsylvania

Sitting at about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia, Dorney Park has been offering a full day of fun since 1884. You'll find roller coasters and thrill rides, as well as family rides and Planet Snoopy for kids — plus Wildwater Kingdom Water Park (included with park admission). Dorney Park is only open seasonally, starting May 12 for the 2023 season.

Kings Dominion — Doswell, Virginia

Between Richmond and Washington D.C., Kings Dominion is a kingdom of 13 roller coasters, 30 family and kids' rides and even a Soak City Water Park. Brave Intimidator 305, one of the East Coast's fastest and tallest coasters, or explore Jungle X-pedition, an immersive themed land that replicates an ancient jungle civilization. Beginning this year, Kings Dominion has expanded to a year-round schedule with weekends during off-peak months and daily operations during the summer.

Kings Island — Mason, Ohio

With more than 100 rides, attractions and shows, this amusement park located in the outskirts of Cincinnati has a ton to offer from award-winning coasters to tadpole-sized thrills. Kings Island is only open seasonally, starting April 15 for the 2023 season.

Michigan's Adventure — Muskegon, Michigan

Situated north of Grand Rapids, this local amusement park has something for everyone — whether it's one of the seven roller coasters, Camp Snoopy or WildWater Adventure Water Park. Michigan's Adventure is only open seasonally, starting May 26 for the 2023 season.
