Disney Starlight Nighttime Parade
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away was first announced during the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (alongside other frogciting announcements of a new Cars and Villains land coming to Magic Kingdom ... say what?!).
This is a HUGE deal! Magic Kingdom continues to entertain guests with the beloved Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade and the nighttime spectacular Happily Ever After. However, it hasn't had a non-seasonal nighttime parade since 2016, when the Main Street Electrical Parade made its final run. Here's a look at the official poster, which has joined the artwork below the Main Street, U.S.A. train station.
When Does Disney Starlight Parade Start?
This nighttime parade officially debuted July 20, 2025.
Disney Starlight starts in Town Square, Main Street U.S.A. and travels along the normal parade route toward Frontierland. The parade itself is about 12 minutes long, and takes time to get to the end of its route. So keep that in mind if you're waiting in Frontierland — you won't see it until about 15-20 minutes after the official showtime. That said, if there is a second parade showtime, it travels in reverse. This means it will start in Frontierland and end in Town Square, allowing for better guest flow at the end of the night.
Disney Starlight is not available on evenings when Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
As with any outdoor entertainment, it is subject to delays or cancellation due to inclement weather. It's always best to double-check showtimes in the My Disney Experience app for the latest information.
Disney Starlight Parade Floats
The parade uses state-of-the-art technology and is brought to life by the magic of none other than the Blue Fairy. The parade reflects both classic and modern Disney stories, including "Peter Pan," "Frozen," "Coco" and "Encanto."
Blue Fairy
Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight .... the first float features the Blue Fairy sprinkling magic dust with her glowing wand. To kick off the parade, you're invited to wish upon a star! A little sprinkle of magic also reveals Geppetto and Pinocchio.
Wish
Inspired by "Wish," this float features Asha, accompanied by Valentino and Star.
Encanto
Swinging on floral vines, Isabela makes her Magic Kingdom debut alongside Mirabel and Bruno. The float is lit up by the Madrigal Family's miracle candle, which blessed the family and Casita with their magical gifts. One of our favorite details about the parade is Bruno's rat, which is on the float's right side when you're directly facing the parade.
Elsa
As featured in the parade's poster, Elsa has her own float, complete with wind effects and screens that showcase other "Frozen" characters and scenes.
Disney Princesses
With the influence of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair, this float features Disney Princesses and their princes, including Aurora and Prince Phillip, Tiana and Prince Naveen, Belle and the Beast and Cinderella and Prince Charming. Royal court dancers bookend this royal float, which is a reference to the Main Street Electrical Parade.
Coco
In this brand-new "Coco"-themed float, Mariachi music announces its arrival, featuring a larger-than-life Pepita and Miguel strumming his guitar. This float is stunning with the marigold bridge leading to the Land of the Dead and sugar skull fireworks!
Moana
While Moana is at the heart of this float, she is joined by Pua, HeiHei and a manta ray representing Gramma Tala, which only pops up once you hear Gramma Tala's voice.
Peter Pan & Wendy
The free-spirited boy from Neverland and the Darling sister have their own float, with Tinker Bell leading the way. As of April 2026, Peter Pan and Wendy can now fly!
Finale Float
The final float features a new character — Whimsy, the train itself — Goofy the conductor, Pluto, Donald and Daisy, leading a procession of Disney moments: Snow White and Dopey in a mine cart; Rapunzel and Flynn Rider floating toward a lantern; and Jasmine and Aladdin on a magic carpet ride. Of course, the original dreamers, Mickey and Minnie, close it off with a reminder to believe in the power of wishing upon a star.
Overall, the floats are connected by the Blue Fairy's magic, made completely from points of light using the latest technology. The parade also features a new original theme, which includes some surprises that sound familiar. (Listen closely to hear how Disney songs are woven into the music!) Every eight-count coordinates with not only the music and lights, but also the parade dancers, who perform a mix of different dance styles.
Best Viewing Spots and Tips for Disney Starlight
When Disney Starlight starts in Town Square, we have a few favorite spots that consider the parade direction.
Main Street (Town Center) — If you're planning to leave right after the parade, stand in Town Center, especially closer to the Railroad Station side. Since it begins next to the firehouse, you'll be the first to see it and can exit the park ahead of the crowds.
Main Street (left side) — Find a spot further down Main Street, so you can see the parade coming from a longer distance. We liked being on the left side by the Emporium entrance where cast members will tape a walkway a couple hours before the parade.
If there's a second parade, Main Street is our favorite place to be (either side), as you can see the parade coming with Cinderella Castle in the background.
The Hub — This is the perfect spot if you want Cinderella Castle in the background and you're staying for fireworks (it's a win-win!). Note: Cast members will tape off a section near the Liberty Square bridge (this is the exact view you see in our YouTube video above).
Liberty Square (across from Sleepy Hollow) — Our #1 favorite spot! Space is rather limited, but you still get a magical view of the castle in the background as the parade crosses the Liberty Square bridge.
Frontierland (in front of Pecos Bill) — Main Street and the Hub area can fill up quickly, requiring at least an hour to save your spot (and even more if you want a front-row view), but it tends to be less crowded in Frontierland. If you're toward the end, in front of Pecos Bill, you can see the parade coming from a distance. Disney Starlight is still popular, so we recommend finding a spot at least 30-45 minutes in advance.
If there are two parade times, which one should you choose?
- First Parade — This is the best time for families, especially for younger children, who don't want to wait around as late as 11 p.m. That said, it is more crowded, so you'll need to start hunting for a spot at least an hour early, and factor in even more time for a front-row view. As we said above, stay closer to Town Square, if you want a faster getaway, or in the Hub, if you want to be closer to the castle for fireworks.
- Second Parade — Many people may leave after the first parade, but there will be an even bigger exodus after fireworks. Once fireworks are over, you may be able to slip in and find a spot as others are leaving. Since it is later at night, we'd recommend it for families with older children and adults.
Disney Starlight Merchandise and Snacks
To celebrate the new parade, you can sparkle along with items from the Disney Starlight collection, including a T-shirt, Disney pin, blanket, light-up Mickey ears with a removable bow and a light-up bubble wand ($40) that interacts with the parade.
Plus, find a Starlight popcorn mix at the Main Street Confectionery. Munch on Bubble Gum and Blue Raspberry Candy Popcorn, M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies, mini-marshmallows and white chocolatey drizzle.
