Weekly Roundup of Theme Park and Cruise News
- In a flurry of news, Disney World dropped 2026 opening dates for many attractions and experiences coming real soon! First up are two fan-favorite rides that have been under months-long refurbishments — Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin will reopen April 8, followed by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad sometime in early May. May 26 will be a big day in all four parks because Cool Kids' Summer kicks off, along with the openings of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and the Walt Disney Studios outdoor courtyard (Hollywood Studios), Soarin' Across America (EPCOT) and Bluey's Wild World (Animal Kingdom). Check out our Cool Kids' Summer blog post that gives you a breakdown of everything going on.
- Clearly, Disney World is the place to be this summer! With magic hoppening at all four theme parks and beyond, there couldn't be a better time for the 4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket to return. This ticket allows you to visit each theme park per day for arrivals between May 26 and Sept. 26, 2026, and you can save even more green through Undercover Tourist. Plus, Undercover Tourist offers deals on Hotel + Ticket vacation packages, including two current specials that include free Dining Plan options for kids 3-9 or the whole fam! You can find all the details in our Disney World Deals blog.
- With Bluey's Best Day Ever! coming to Disneyland Park starting March 22, 2026, we've learned more details about the experience, including food and merch. Bluey and Bingo, the popular blue heeler sisters from "Bluey," will appear at set times on stage throughout the day in two rotating shows. Families are encouraged to explore and move throughout the theater, as seating is not required. There are also fun photo opportunities and games located in the upper and lower grounds of the space. Once you get your wiggles out, fuel up with Bluey-themed treats, such as the Pizza Girls Baked Potato and Stumpfest Cake. And then take home a souvenir with you, whether it's a Bluey pin or apparel.
- Bon voyage! After much anticipation, the Disney Adventure sailed on its maiden voyage in Singapore this week. With this new ship added to the fleet, Disney Cruise Line expands to Asia. It may be the first, but it won't be the last. As previously announced, Disney is working with Oriental Land Co., Ltd. to bring a ship to Japan in early 2029. And that's only one of five additional Disney ships that will launch between 2027 and 2031. A bright future is on the horizon for Disney Cruise Line!
- The Disney Destiny was named as one of TIME's World's Greatest Places in 2026. Every year, TIME highlights 100 global destinations to visit, which include hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions and more. The Destiny sails out of Fort Lauderdale for 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
- Universal Studios Hollywood adds Sailor Moon to its Universal Fan Fest Nights lineup. During the after-hours event, fans can watch "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe," an all-original Japanese manga and CG anime short film, which originally debuted as part of Universal Studios Japan's Cool Japan event. Located at DreamWorks Theatre, heroine Super Sailor Moon battles an unforeseen enemy who wants to steal the Legendary Silver Crystal from Moon Palace's ball. Fan Fest Nights tickets are now available through Undercover Tourist for select dates in April and May 2026.
- You'll once again be able to experience Universal Volcano Bay under the stars. Universal Volcano Bay Nights return this spring and summer on select dates from May 3 to Aug. 21, 2026. At the family-friendly event, you get to ride your favorite waterslides with shorter wait times, meet DreamWorks characters and party along the beach with a live DJ.
- Don't froget to wear your lucky green clothes and accessories! For St. Patrick's Day, you can celebrate at Ragland Road's annual St. Patrick's Day Festival from March 13-17, 2026. Irish bands and Raglan Road's Irish Dancers will perform throughout the festival weekend. Reservations are highly encouraged, and on March 17 only, Ragland Road opens with a $20 cover charge for guests 18 and older (kids are free) on a first-come, first-served basis. You can also celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Pat O'Brien's in Universal CityWalk, which will serve three exclusive dishes from 3 p.m. to midnight on March 17.
That's a wrap on the latest theme park and cruise news.
Hoppy planning!
