If you didn't check out my previous post, you really should take a minute to go back and read it! For the quick version, here's what you missed! I got engaged at Disney World! I'm in full-on bride mode and loving every minute of this season of my life! In the last post, I shared with you some tips that my sweet guy learned during the planning process for the proposal. Today I'm giving you my top tips for celebrating your Disney World engagement!
Let that ring sparkle in the parks—today we're living it up big! Wear your biggest smiles and don those just engaged buttons, because it's time to celebrate.
1. Splurge (a little)
You just got engaged, you're at Disney World, and you've got some celebrating to do! That said, why not celebrate in true Disney style? A romantic dinner for two is the way to do it! My honey and I ate at the Chef's de France for our celebration dinner (OK, one of many celebration dinners ... but we just got engaged, right???). We splurged and went for some legit Champagne, joie de vivre.
*Tip: Mention upon arriving at your reservations or when making reservations that you're celebrating an engagement. We got a romantic booth complete with golden star confetti and dessert at the Brown Derby!
2. Pictures Please!
In my last post about creating the perfect proposal at Disney World, I suggested purchasing Memory Maker - I'm doing it again. Seriously, get Memory Maker! Our Memory Maker pictures turned out so cute! We were able to use some of the pictures on our save the dates. The pictures are hassle free and good quality, and there are plenty to share throughout your trip.
*Tip: Ask PhotoPass photographers to get creative when taking your picture! Let them know right away that you're engaged. Many of our photographers took some really cute pictures to help us commemorate our engagement.
3. Don't forget a Keepsake!
I love it when couples create a tradition to mark special times and events in their relationship. From Christmas tree ornaments to picture frames to salt and pepper shakers ... whatever you want, I highly suggest a memento of your engagement to add to this collection. We decided on an ornament to mark the date! It's super fun to pick out the newest (or maybe the start ) of your collection!
*Tip: Share with cast members if they ask about your engagement button or purchase. We did and ended up getting customized Mickey and Minnie bride and groom hats for free from the Mouse himself!
So ... congratulations on your big news! Your life is about to be a whirlwind of tastings, meetings, down payments, due dates, fittings, you name it ... take time to slow down and enjoy this season of your life. Keep your head in the clouds, be light hearted and enjoy the time with your honey. I wish you the very best as you enter this chapter of life.
