There are many reasons to look forward to a Walt Disney World vacation. Maybe you're most excited about the rides, characters, or food. Mickey Mouse loves to spend time throughout the resort and even will wear different outfits depending on the occasion. From classic looks to trendy outfits, Mickey always knows how to dress to impress!
Read on to check out all of the ways to spot your pal, Mickey, at Disney World!
Finding Mickey at Disney World Theme Parks
Mickey can be found at all four parks, as well as character dining options at select resort hotels. Mickey has quite the full wardrobe and will often change his outfit depending on the season or holiday.
Finding Mickey at Magic Kingdom
When in Magic Kingdom, you can find Mickey at Town Square Theater! Your family will get to have one-on-one interactions with Mickey. Our favorite mouse loves to give hugs, high fives and, of course, pose for photographs.
Sporting their circus costumes, Mickey and Minnie take their place sky high in the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Riding in his Airship — a giant hot air balloon —Mickey and Minnie are the final float in the procession. Lily loves waving to Mickey as he cruises along Main Street, U.S.A.!
You can also spy Mickey several times throughout the day in Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire. Located on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle, this performance features Mickey, Minnie and an ensemble of other fan-favorite Disney friends who dance, sing and celebrate the power of friendship. Weather permitting, catch the show daily at 10 am, 11:55 am, and 12:55 pm.
You can also see Mickey and friends on screen in Mickey's PhilharMagic, a 3-D musical adventure in Fantasyland. This classic show is for frogs of all ages and makes for a great way to beat the heat.
Finding Mickey at EPCOT
At EPCOT, you can find Mickey in World Celebration at CommuniCore Hall. This new location also features members of the Fab 5, including both Minnie Mouse and Goofy! Here, Mickey dons his classic red pants and black suit jacket. There's nothing like Mickey in his iconic look!
But that's not all! Head to The Land pavilion and enjoy character dining for any meal at Garden Grill Restaurant. Here you can see Mickey in a rare outfit — his adorable farmer's overalls — as well as Pluto and Chip 'n' Dale. Take in the unique view of the Living with the Land ride and savor family-style American cuisine, with fresh veggies straight from the Land.
Finding Mickey at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Another favorite outfit of Mickey's can be found at Disney's Hollywood Studios. You can meet Mickey in his sorcerer's apprentice outfit at Red Carpet Dreams. Minnie is in the prior room donning a gown, so you can meet both of the fabulous mouses in one line!
You can also spot Mickey and friends in seasonal outfits at Hollywood & Vine. For lunch and dinner, guests can enjoy a meal while seeing themed outfits depending on the season. For instance, for Summertime Dine, Mickey goes casual with a T-shirt and shorts, sometimes with a straw hat. Reservations fill up ahead of time, so be sure to book your reservation when your dining reservation window opens 60 days ahead of your trip!
While in Hollywood Studios, you have to check out Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, the first-ever ride to feature the mouse that started it all! Waits can get high for this family-friendly ride, so we recommend riding first thing in the morning or in the evening.
Mickey Mouse plays a central role in the nighttime show Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios. In this spectacular show, Mickey guides the audience through a magical adventure filled with fireworks, water effects and projections. This frog-favorite show features many iconic outfits for the mouse (going all the way to the beginning) and we look forward to the show on every trip. If weather allows, the shows take place at 8:00 pm and again at 9:30 pm.
Finding Mickey at Disney's Animal Kingdom
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, you can meet Mickey Mouse at Adventurers Outpost. This indoor meet and greet location allows visitors to meet with both with Mickey and Minnie Mouse! Decked out in their safari gear, Mickey and Minnie are always ready to welcome guests and take photos.
Enjoy family-style classics with an African twist at Tusker House Restaurant. The restaurant includes character dining with Donald and friends in their safari outfits, so while Mickey is not guaranteed to be there, it is very likely you'll see the mouse himself!
Finding Mickey at Disney World Resort Hotels and Special Events
While there are plenty of spots to meet with the world-famous mouse inside the four theme parks, they aren't the only places he dedicates his time! That's right: you'll also get to meet with Mickey Mouse at select Disney resort hotels!
Finding Mickey at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Did you know that Mickey even has a restaurant named after him? Chef Mickey's over at the Contemporary Resort offers up both Mickey waffles and the main mouse himself at this buffet-style character dining experience. Mickey wears (you guessed it) an adorable chef's outfit along with his other friends. Whenever we ride the monorail now, Lily always exclaims "That's where we saw Mickey!" as we cruise through the Contemporary.
One of our top favorite character dining options is Topolino's Terrace at Riviera Resort. ("Topolino" is Mickey Mouse in Italian!) The Fab Four put on their creative hats with Mickey the artist, Minnie the writer, Donald the sculptor and Daisy the dancer. This location is our personal favorite for the more unique outfits. Characters take turns through the room with opportunities for photos and autographs.
Mickey at Special Events
Mickey always dresses to impress at special events, including Halloween and Christmas time. He will wear a few different Halloween costumes at special parties like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You can find Mickey in some fabulous holiday sweaters during the winter, as well, at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. These exclusive outfits really add to the seasonal fun of these ticketed events!
Mickey-Shaped Food
You know that little mouse is a big deal when he gets snacks shaped like him! The first treats that comes to mind are the delicious Mickey waffles, but there is so much to choose from. Anything from pretzels, to cookies, to ice cream sandwiches — if you can think of it, it's probably Mickey-shaped somewhere. Don't take our word for it, but we swear Mickey-shaped waffles taste way better than regular waffles!
Can You Meet Mickey at the Disney Water Parks?
Yes, it's possible to meet Mickey at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. Characters, including Mickey can be spotted at the water park's specially ticketed events, such as the Disney H2O Glow After Hours Event. While it's not a guarantee, Mickey has been seen at this event in the past.
Hidden Mickeys at Disney World
An extra fun part of visiting Disney World is keeping an eye out for hidden Mickeys! A hidden Mickey is a Mickey shape that is placed subtly into the landscape. They might be in the architecture of a building, along a pathway or even in a ride. We love having this unofficial scavenger hunt as we go throughout our park day and see who can spot a hidden Mickey first. There are hundreds throughout the four parks and the many resort hotels, so you never know when you might find one! But here are some of our favs:
Magic Kingdom
- On the banquet table in the ballroom scene at the Haunted Mansion
- As a nutcracker during the Christmas scene in the Carousel of Progress
EPCOT
- In the shark tank in the Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion
- Plates on one of the doors of the merchant store in Morocco
Hollywood Studios
- Little girl holding a Mickey Mouse plush in the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror video
- In the clouds on the backside mural of Slinky Dog Dash
Animal Kingdom
- On the Tree of Life
- In the woodwork in the exterior queue of Expedition Everest
Oh, boy! No matter where your Disney World trip takes you, you're bound to run into the big cheese. What's your favorite outfit that Mickey wears? Let us know in the comments below!
