Frog Family Foodie Review: Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Disney's Hollywood Studios

by Mommy Frog on March 27, 2022 Orlando

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - PinterestSometimes checking a restaurant off our Disney bucket list requires only one visit, but at Hollywood & Vine, we need two! The restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios has two character dining experiences that feature different characters. During breakfast, the Disney Junior pals can kickstart the day with you. Later on, Minnie Mouse hosts seasonal-themed lunch and dinner parties throughout the year. We've been able to celebrate the holidays AND springtime with Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto. In our Frog Family foodie review, we'll share everything, from how delicious our food was to the fun character interactions.

Overview of Hollywood and Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood & Vine is located by Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Outside, the restaurant’s signage resembles street signs for the famous intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street (aka its namesake!) accompanied by colorful, flashing neon lights. Once you’ve checked in with the host, you can sit in the outdoor waiting area until your table is ready. Mobile check-in is available, and we’d recommend checking in as soon as you’re able to (you should get a push notification from My Disney Experience when it’s time to do so). Even with a reservation and mobile check-in, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated.

With its Art Deco-inspired design, it feels like you’ve stepped into a diner from the 1940s. There are two main sides of the large dining room with an open kitchen in the middle. This central area was also where we used to grab our food from the buffet, but since Disney World reopened, the servers bring your food out to you. Large murals cover the walls — one wall has a map of all the iconic Hollywood landmarks and prominently features Carthay Circle.

The restaurant is popular so we highly recommend making a reservation in advance. When you do, pay attention to the reservation time so you can meet the characters that you want to see. Additionally, since it’s inside Hollywood Studios, you will need valid admission and a Disney Park Pass reservation.

Minnie’s Seasonal Dining at Hollywood and Vine

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - Minnie in the SpringMinnie Mouse sure knows how to throw a party! At Hollywood & Vine, Minnie hosts five themed dining experiences throughout the year, which include:

  • Silver Screen Dine: January to February (TBD, 2023)
  • Springtime Dine: March to May (March 1 to May 30, 2022)
  • Summertime Dine: June to August (May 31 to TBD, 2022)
  • Halloween Dine: August to November (TBD, 2022)
  • Holiday Dine: November to December (TBD, 2022)

A typical year kicks off with Silver Screen Dine, which celebrates the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto are dressed in their fanciest outfits (or collars) of the year (think sparkling dresses and suit and tie combos)! Once spring arrives, the theme transitions to florals and bright colors, followed by beachy vibes in the summer. The characters dress up in their best costumes for Halloween Dine and spread Christmas cheer during Holiday Dine (you'll get to meet Santa Goofy!).

We’ve gone to Holiday Dine and Springtime Dine, and both times, we had a blast eating delicious food and celebrating with Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto. They came out to greet guests in pairs — Mickey & Minnie and Goofy & Pluto. One character starts going around to the tables on one side of the restaurant while the other does the opposite side, and then they switch sides. While each table gets a short amount of individualized time with each character, you still need to keep your distance. We were able to stand up next to our table and pose with the characters in the background, but we needed to make sure that we stayed as close to the table as possible. Also, there’s a fun, themed photo-op background right as you walk into the restaurant!

Allow at least an hour and a half for the meal. During that time, you may even get to see all of the characters twice.

Minnie’s Seasonal Dining Menu

Even though Minnie’s Seasonal Dining has not returned to a traditional buffet, don’t let that stop you from eating to your heart’s content! While the entrees come out on individual plates, it’s toadally OK to order more than one — you just need to order the dishes one by one (not all at once). You can also ask for more bread rolls, salad and refills of drinks (that aren't already an extra cost). Because it's a fixed price, you won't be charged for multiple servings. Once Leap finished his Macaroni and Cheese with Shrimp, he had no shame in ordering the Beef Tenderloin for round two. (However, the entrees are rather large so you'll probably only want one.) Adults can also order from the kids' menu (with adult-sized portions) and vice versa.

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - Kitchen

The overall dining experience costs $55 per adult and $36 per child (ages 3 to 9), plus tax and gratuity. Though the theme of the experience changes, the menu does not.

Lunch & Dinner Menu:

Salad Family Style

  • Chopped Salad Bowl - Mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, cornbread croutons and homemade smokehouse ranch dressing
  • Plant-based Chopped Salad - Mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, focaccia croutons and plant-based ranch dressing

Adult Entrée Choices

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - Shrimp Mac and Cheese

  • Macaroni and Cheese with Shrimp - Cavatappi pasta, four-cheese sauce, shrimp, crispy bacon, buttered panko crust with fennel and arugula
  • Garlic and Cracked Black Pepper Sliced Beef Tenderloin - Sour cream and chive whipped potatoes, sautéed green beans and herb relish
  • Seared Fresh Salmon with Grain Mustard-Beurre Blanc - Crushed fingerling potatoes with olive oil and garlic-lemon broccolini
  • Carved Herb-roasted Turkey Breast - Garlic redskin mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, sautéed green beans, turkey gravy and cranberry-orange relish
  • Spice-rubbed Pork Loin - Creamy soft cheese polenta, spicy mustard-barbecue sauce and bacon-peach chutney
  • Asparagus and Summer Truffle Risotto - Sautéed green asparagus, slicked black truffle, plant-based Parmesan, cherry tomatoes and arugula (plant-based)

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - Beef Tenderloin

I opted for the Carved Herb-roasted Turkey Breast, and it hit the spot! Tad got the Pork Loin — the spices created a unique flavor (and it was quite spicy). It might not be the best choice for picky eaters, but if you have an adventurous palate, it’s worth trying. But if you’re not a fan, it’s OK! Let someone else try it and order a second entree. Leap thought the Beef Tenderloin was a winner in his book (and the shrimp mac and cheese was a close second).

Dessert Choices

  • White Chocolate Cheesecake - Guava sauce, whipped cream and mint
  • Spiced Cherry Cake - Cherry with lemon drizzle and coconut with cream (plant-based)
  • Vanilla Crème Brûlée - Rich custard with caramelized sugar
  • Chocolate S’mores Pie - Dark chocolate mousse with toasted marshmallow and graham cracker streusel
  • Lemon Cake with Fresh Strawberries - Lemon bundt cake, strawberries, fresh whipped cream and mint

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - Desserts

Hands down, my favorite was the Chocolate S’mores Pie. Not only did it have an Insta-worthy presentation, but it also tasted like a s’more. You also can’t go wrong with the White Chocolate Cheesecake or the Vanilla Crème Brûlée (the latter came in a generous portion that even we couldn’t completely finish).

Kids' Menu

  • Appetizer: Chopped salad
  • Entrées (choose 1): Seared salmon, roasted turkey, roasted beef or mac and cheese
  • Side Selections (choose 2): Sautéed green beans, olive oil crushed potatoes, whipped potato, fresh fruit, garlic lemon broccolini or mac and cheese
  • Dessert (choose 1): Fresh fruit, ice cream sundae, no-sugar-added lemon sorbet or apple pie

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - Kids' Meal with Salmon and Mac and Cheese

Kids will order one entree, two sides and a dessert to start, but they can also get second helpings. Lily devoured her portion of salmon, fruit and mac and cheese. She even got seconds before moving on to dessert. A tadpole-approved meal!

Featured Alcoholic Beverages

  • Magical Beacon Cocktail
  • EARidescent Sip-a-bration

Alcoholic Beverages

  • Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea
  • Bloody Mary
  • Celebrity Margarita
  • Captain’s Mai Tai
  • Mimosa
  • White wines, red wines, craft and draft beer

Alcoholic drinks are extra cost, but you can get unlimited refills of nonalcoholic drinks, including soft drinks, coffee, tea and more.

Disney Junior Play n’ Dine at Hollywood and Vine

For breakfast, Roadster Goofy appears along with Vampirina, Doc McStuffins and Fancy Nancy. Unlike Minnie’s Seasonal Dining, the theming remains the same year-round. All of the characters come around to greet each table individually, and they dance to the Disney Junior songs.

Disney Junior Play n’ Dine Breakfast Menu

The breakfast menu features a shared pastry basket and individual-plated entrées. The character dining experience costs $42 per adult and $27 per child (ages 3 to 9), plus tax and gratuity. Breakfast is served from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. There is a short break in between the breakfast and lunch hours so the restaurant can transition to Minnie’s Seasonal Dining.

Pastry Basket

  • Caramel monkey bread, croissants, mini muffins, jams and honey butter

Adult Entrée Choices

  • Toasted Open-faced Salmon Bagel - Hand-sliced, house-cured salmon on a toasted bagel with cream cheese, shaved red onions, sliced tomatoes and capers
  • House-made Pancake Stack - Four pancakes, maple syrup, powdered sugar and fresh berries served with a choice of bacon or country sausage
  • Four-Egg Cheese Omelet Swiss, Smoked Gouda and Cheddar - Served with potato hash, tomato jam and a choice of bacon or country sausage
  • Hazelnut Spread-stuffed French Toast - Hazelnut spread, bananas and caramel bananas foster syrup served with a choice of bacon or country sausage
  • Four-Egg Scramble (Plant-based eggs available) - Served with potato hash, tomato jam and a choice of bacon or country sausage
  • Plant-based Egg Frittata - Plant-based eggs, fire-roasted vegetables, shaved fennel and plant-based sour cream served with potato hash and tomato jam

Kids' Menu

  • Entrées (choose 1): Scrambled eggs, pancakes, Mickey waffle, plain yogurt or cereal (Corn Flakes, Rice Crispies, Cheerios or Froot Loops)
  • Side Selections (choose 2): Oven-roasted potatoes, bacon, country sausage or fresh fruit cup

Our Final Thoughts About Minnie’s Seasonal Dining

Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine - Pluto in the Spring

Overall, we had a fun experience during both Minnie’s Holiday Dine and Springtime Dine at Hollywood & Vine! The food was yummy — despite not being buffet-style when we were there, everyone ate until their bellies were full. Even though the character interactions are currently modified, we were able to spend some individualized time with each. (Plus, we sat through two rounds of characters, so we saw everyone twice!) We also got themed autograph cards signed by the characters to take home as a souvenir.

Our most important piece of advice is to pay attention to your reservation time! We know from experience how easy it can be to see a hard-to-get reservation pop up, snag it quickly without thinking and then realize it’s not during the meal with the characters that you want to meet. Breakfast hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the Disney Junior pals, and any time after 11:30 a.m. is Minnie’s Seasonal Dining.

If you have tadpoles who especially love the Disney Junior pals, we’d recommend breakfast! (But if you just simply want to meet them, the Disney Junior characters are once again greeting guests in Animation Courtyard.) We love celebrating different occasions during Minnie’s Seasonal Dining. You can’t go wrong with any of Minnie’s themed parties!
