What's with the watermelons? There's a group of Rams super fans called Melonheads. They show up to every Rams home game and wear carved-out watermelons on their heads. The Melons may be decorated with "Rams" in royal blue and gold paint.
The LA Rams are the only NFL franchise to win championships in three different cities. The team originated in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams. The franchise moved to Los Angeles in 1946. They used to play south of LA at Angels Stadium in Anaheim before moving to St. Louis in 1994. They were known as the St. Louis Rams from 1995 to 2015. But the Rams came home to Los Angeles in 2016 (playing at the LA Memorial Coliseum, which had been their home stadium from 1946 to 1979) and have since taken up residence at the beautiful SoFi Stadium, as of 2020. The Rams share SoFi Stadium with the Los Angeles Chargers, who moved to Los Angeles from San Diego one year after the Rams returned, taking LA from zero NFL teams to two!
The LA Rams won the Super Bowl twice, in 2000 and 2022. We celebrated at Disneyland the next day by watching their winning cavalcade in 2022! The float featured players Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald and Matthew Stafford.
