If you're spending Mother's Day at Disneyland, your mom is in for a treat. Mother's Day is one of the most special days in the parks. Lily and I may not always show it, but we toadally appreciate everything Mommy Frog does for us, especially in theme parks. She always makes it all about us, but it's time to turn the tables and make it all about Mommy Frog on Mother's Day. You can (and should) honor any favorite, mom-like women in your life such as stepmoms, aunties or Grandmas on Mother's Day too!
Toadally Special Ways to Celebrate Mother's Day at Disneyland
Mom always makes sure your needs are met. She finds your favorite foods, goes on your favorite rides and thinks about how to keep you hoppy all day long. It's your turn to make Mother's Day at Disneyland extra special and to make the day all about her. Here are some suggestions for how to celebrate Mother's Day at Disneyland.
Free Flowers for Mom!
Here's a nice perk! When you walk into Disneyland or Disney California Adventure on Mother's Day, you'll see tables of carnations. Anyone who is a mother gets a free flower on Mother's Day (while supplies last)!
Make Dining Reservations
Reservations open 60 days in advance. I don't know who needs to hear this, but Mom doesn't want to cook on Mother's Day, and she doesn't want to stand in food lines and walk around with a tray of food in search of a table. This is a day for relaxing, table-service dining. A buffet will do as well. In addition to the best table-service restaurants at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, there are some special meals offered on Mother's Day. If reservations are full, keep checking, especially the day or two before, in case people cancel. You can also try walk-up availability.
Plaza Inn has a special Mother's Day Brunch on the Saturday and Sunday of Mother's Day weekend from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
You do need a park ticket and reservation to access this meal inside Disneyland Park. You get a photo package and a special pin for mom. Everyone can get free Mother's Day buttons (in English and Spanish)!
It's hosted by Minnie Mouse, and there are a bunch of extra characters there that day as well. We got all the usual characters, plus Marie, Clarice and Clarabelle when we visited in 2025. We saw about 11 characters while we dined. Mommy Frog especially loved meeting Marie! The buffet includes extra items these days. You must cancel 24 hours in advance.
If you do not have a park reservation, both Goofy's Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe offer a Mother's Day Character Brunch and Character Dinner on the Saturday and Sunday of Mother's Day Weekend. They include extra menu items as well. You must cancel these Storytellers Cafe meals at least 72 hours in advance.
Find Her Favorite Snacks
We know that we cannot go wrong with getting Mommy Frog a Disneyland caramel apple and some churro toffee. But what does your mom like? Whether it's an ice cream sundae or a Mickey pretzel or a Dole Whip or Mickey beignets, calories don't count on Mother's Day (or birthdays).
You can find the cutest treats (and Werther's caramel corn) at the new Disney Wonderful World of Sweets in Downtown Disney.
Take Photos
Wear the matching outfits/color schemes and get those posed family photos. Every mother wants a nice family photo with her kids. No bunny ears (only mouse ears, please) or bored faces. Give her only hoppy memories and a frameable souvenir photo to commemorate them. You can get everyone in the shot with assistance from the PhotoPass photographers. Did you know that all the photographer photos are included with Lightning Lane Multi Pass?
Take Her Shopping
If she finds something she loves, get it for her for Mother's Day. Want to know the latest and greatest Disney merch? We have a blog post on the newest items in the Disneyland theme parks.
Meet Her Favorite Characters
Is mom a Star Wars buff, into superheroes or a fan of the classic Mickey Mouse pals? Does she love the princesses or just want to hug Pooh? Perhaps she's thrilled by villains. Hop over to our post on meeting Disneyland characters so you can scout out their locations and take her to meet her favorites.
Plan Magical Moments
There are a few special moments that are not necessarily on the daily calendar. But they can bring moments of joy to your day. Hop over to our unscheduled characters at Disneyland post to get some ideas.
Don't miss the character cavalcade. It's short and sweet, and it's a great way to see a lot of characters at once. Type "cavalcade" into the app to find the showtimes, but they are usually in the early afternoon.
You could surprise her with a Fantasmic! dining package or a World of Color Dessert party. It's always nice to be able to sit and watch nighttime entertainment. Our Disneyland shows post will get you up to speed on all the park entertainment.
If your mom is anything like my mom, she toadally appreciates a good deal. Gift her with discount Disneyland tickets and hotel reservations through Undercover Tourist, and make park reservations early.
