Weekly Roundup of Theme Park News
- LEGOLAND shared new details about the indoor roller coaster coming to both LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND California in 2026. The all-new, space-themed coaster will become LEGOLAND's most technologically advanced ride. At LEGOLAND Florida, the ride will have an interactive queue and a play zone for tiny astronauts ages 1-4, and launch from Spaceport 885 (a homage to the original LEGO Space Scooter set #885). Meanwhile, over in LEGOLAND California, the roller coaster — launching from Spaceport 886 as a reference to the original LEGO Space Buggy set #886 — will be part of a large galaxy-themed land. This land will feature two other family attractions, a junior astronaut training zone and retail and dining locations. Stay tuned for first launch details!
- Busch Gardens Tampa Bay celebrated the grand opening of Wild Oasis, a kid-friendly "adventure realm." The rethemed Jungala area features a drop tower kiddie ride, climbing canopy, water play areas, a scavenger hunt and a multi-species animal habitat (with new animals such as capybaras and giant anteaters). Need to refuel? Stop by TOMA at Orang Cafe, which features a Latin American-inspired menu.
- Hoppy birthday, Disneyland! On July 17, 2025, Disneyland celebrated its 70th birthday in style. The new attraction, Walt Disney — A Magical Life, debuted at the Main Street Opera House, featuring the first Audio-Animatronic of Walt Disney himself. (View the whole show in our YouTube video above!) Other new exhibits honoring the past, present and future of Disneyland also premiered. Plus, you can now hear the newest third verse on "it's a small world." For more info about the Disneyland 70th anniversary, hop over to our 70th celebration guide!
- We can't wait for Disney Starlight to debut at Magic Kingdom Park this weekend! The brand-new nighttime parade will twinkle down Main Street for the first time on July 20. Led by the Blue Fairy, the parade features floats inspired by "Frozen," "Moana," "Coco," "Encanto" and more. It will initially have 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. showtimes, and it will start in Main Street, U.S.A. and end in Frontierland. Find out more details in our Starlight guide. Also, be sure to follow us on Instagram @themeparkfrog where we will cover its first performance!
- Test Track is gearing up for its reopening! After more than a year since its reimagining started, the popular EPCOT attraction will officially welcome drivers back on July 22, 2025. Upon opening, it will have a traditional standby line, as well as a Single Riders line and a Lightning Lane. It will be part of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass as a Tier 1 selection, as Soarin' Around the World moves down to Tier 2.
- Universal Orlando has been dropping Halloween Horror Nights announcements every day this week, introducing four scare zones and all-new street experiences. In the Origins of Horror, enter a decaying conservatory with monstrous crows, gargoyles and more. In Masquerade: Dance with Death, attend a masquerade ball with vampires in ornate disguises. In The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane, take a spooky path to an eerie home where trick-or-treaters turn into felines. In Mutations: Toxic Twenties, travel back to the 1920s when a radioactive cargo truck crashes into a mobster getaway car. Finally, more details are to come about brand-new street experiences. (But expect Mel's Die-In Zombies and Club Horror!)
That's a wrap on the latest theme park news.
Hoppy planning!
