Peace of Mind
Undercover Tourist partners with our buddies at Universal Studios Hollywood to bring you the exact same tickets the park sells, but for less. Not only that, we can offer you something Universal cannot: Peace of mind. All of our Universal Studios Hollywood tickets are backed by our 365-Day Refund Policy. If you get sick or miss a flight or something else hoppens that makes it so you cannot visit Universal, no worries!
Our Universal (and Disneyland) tickets are refundable for one year from the date of purchase. To qualify, the E-Ticket must be unused. Once verified with the vendor that they are unused, 95% of the ticket total will be refunded. The 5% fee covers the delivery, handling and processing fees associated with accepting payment and fulfilling the order. Expired E-tickets, used E-tickets, or any E-ticket not currently sold on the Undercover Tourist site are not refundable. So if your plans change, contact us right away so we can start the refund process. Please note that it can take up to 15 days for the refund to post to your original form of payment.
We frogs have used this policy ourselves when we got overexcited and bought tickets for more days at Universal than we could use. We made the call and were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to cancel the tickets and get 95% of our money back. Ribbit!
Buy Online in Advance
Frogs don't let friends buy theme park tickets at the gate. Why?
- That's the most expensive way to purchase theme park tickets.
- Days can sell out. And there you'll be left standing in front of the park without a ticket, and you can't get in.
Buy online to save money and lock in your date. But that is not enough — you need to know where to buy. Undercover Tourist partners with Universal Studios Hollywood to sell the same tickets for less. (All posted savings are based off of gate prices, but you'll also save compared to Universal's online prices too.)
Universal Studios Hollywood General Admission Tickets
You can save up to $48 on 1-day general admission tickets through Undercover Tourist.
Planning on a second day? You can save up to $61 on 2-day general admission for most of the year. BUT WAIT! (Cue the sound of the needle being ripped off the record!) For a limited time (through Aug. 13, 2025), you can purchase a LIMITED TIME: Buy a Day, Get a 2nd Day FREE - General Admission Ticket. You can visit one day and then go back second day through Dec. 17, 2025!
You can use this second day right away or save it to come back for Grinchmas. Blockout dates do apply to the second ticket (see below).
Be Flexible on Dates You Can Visit
The cost to visit on a 1-day ticket can vary a lot. Off-peak times and weekdays are going to cost less than weekends, school breaks and holidays. Look at the days you can visit and select the least expensive one to save money. If you are flexible, this is a great way to save money. If one day is $109 and the next day is $144, which day are you going to choose? Look at the calendar, choose your date, and then go to Undercover Tourist to purchase that date to save even more.
Universal Express Tickets
You want to do it all in one day and skip the lines? You can save up to $126 on the Universal Express ticket. This gives you one-time Express access to each attraction and serves as your park admission. If you buy a general admission ticket from Undercover Tourist and later change your mind, you can purchase an add-on Express ticket from Universal directly.
We get so many questions from our readers about Universal Express. People want to know, "Is Universal Express really necessary?" and "How much would it cost if we did not get it but then changed our minds?" Now that you can purchase an add-on Express through Universal, we're going on a price comparison journey: Let's pick a day to visit, say Aug. 1, 2025. Let's compare prices:
- Universal Express (includes admission) from Undercover Tourist: $297.14
- Universal Express (includes admission) from Universal Studios online: $309 (gate price would be higher)
- General Admission Ticket from Undercover Tourist, plus add-on Express from Universal: $303.65
Keep in mind that prices vary per day, but you are going to save more money by getting Universal Express from Undercover Tourist in full. But even if you get general admission from Undercover Tourist and later add on Express, you'll save more than if you had purchased an Express ticket from Universal.
Hop on over to our post on Universal Express to learn more and help you decide if it's worth getting for your visit.
VIP Experience Tickets
The most expensive ticket is the VIP Tour. But you get so much for the price of the tour. We highly recommend it for first-timers or people taking that once-in-a-lifetime trip for several reasons:
- Save up to $178 on the tour when you buy through Undercover Tourist.
- It includes park admission (admission varies) and valet parking (a $60 value).
- It includes two meals and multiple nonalcoholic beverages.
- The tour comes with Unlimited Universal Express.
- You can access areas on the lot that other park guests do not get to see.
- You get extras such as a poncho, lip balm and tissues, plus bottled water on your trolley.
- You operate outside the crowds to skip the lines.
- Your tour guide will take you around the backlot in a trolley and walk you to the front of attraction lines.
You'll feel no stress on this journey. Toadally worth it if it's in your budget. Don't froget to tip your tour guide.

Early Access Tickets
Let's say you want to skip the lines, but Express is more than you want to pay. If you really want to experience Super Nintendo World on this trip, there is a less-expensive option than Express. Early Access allows you to enter the theme park to experience Super Nintendo World an hour before the park opens. You can ride Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge and play all the challenges in the land with a Power-Up Band.
Then once the park opens, you'll already be in the Lower Lot. You can pretty quickly ride the popular Lower Lot attractions with short lines right at park opening. You can eat at Toadstool Cafe with a shorter wait before heading up to the Upper Lot and Studio Tour. You'll be in pretty good shape for the day. Hop over to our post on Early Access tips to learn more.
Early Access is about $20 to $30 per day and can be purchased as an add-on to your ticket. You can also purchase Early Access for other events, such as Halloween Horror Nights and Fan Fest Nights, to get a jump on fun and access experiences that open 90 minutes early.
Special Event Tickets
Did you know you could save money on Universal Studios special event tickets, such as Halloween Horror Nights in the fall and Fan Fest Nights in the spring? Yup! We highly recommend the After 2 p.m. Day/Night Combo tickets to get in early, go on some rides and access some event experiences before the event even kicks off. It's a pretty affordable add-on.
Annual Passes and Other Discounts
If you are a frequent visitor, you can save by becoming an annual passholder. Each pass comes with its own perks. Some include parking and discounts for food and merchandise. The Platinum Pass includes Express access after 3 p.m. Sometimes passholders can purchase tickets for themselves and others at a discount, but the discount is not as good as you can get from Undercover Tourist. Just sayin'.
Other Skip the Line Options
You don't want to pay for Express, and you are not arriving in time to use Early Access. What else can you do to save time and money on these extras? Are you willing to split up from others in your group to fill in empty seats? Let me introduce you to my little friend, the Single Riders line. You can use the Single Riders line for rides such as:
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
- Revenge of the Mummy - The Ride
- Transformers: The Ride 3D
- Jurassic World - The Ride
- Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge
It's a game changer for sure. You do not get preferred seating, but you do get a significantly shorter wait. Hop over to our post on how to maximize time at Universal Studios Hollywood to learn more about shaving minutes and hours off your day.
Undercover Tourist can help you save on Universal Studios Hollywood tickets as well as theme park tickets for all the major SoCal parks. Add on hotels and rental cars too, especially if you add your rental car to your theme park ticket or hotel reservation. Bundling them unlocks deeper discounts! Movie and TV fans can even save on Warner Bros. Tours near Universal Studios while in Tinseltown.
