- Zoinks! Well, gang — it looks like we have another mystery on our hands. This time, it's taking place on a fictitious film set at the Backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood during Universal Fan Fest Nights. As an extra in the cast, you get to help Scooby-Doo and friends uncover the identity of the Phantom Director, who has unleashed Universal Monsters, putting filming in jeopardy. Find out more about Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters: Mystery on the Backlot and other fandom experiences in our Fan Fest Nights guide.
- D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is hoppening this year in Anaheim, and it's gearing up to be "bigger and bolder" than ever before. From Aug. 14-16, 2026, attendees can soak up all the magic from more than 50 panels and presentations, ranging from behind-the-scenes discussions to breaking news about Disney Parks and Experiences. D23 Gold Members can purchase tickets within specific presale time windows starting March 31 for Gold Charter Members and April 2 for all other Gold Members. Plus, Disney announced the honorees for the Disney Legend Awards (aka Disney’s Hall of Fame), whose contributions have defined Disney across generations. The newest class of Disney Legends includes Susan Egan, Anne Hathaway, Jonas Brothers, Bob Iger and more.
- In case you missed the major spooky season news this week, Halloween Horror Nights Orlando 2026 dates and tickets have been released! This year's event will celebrate its 35th anniversary, and Universal Orlando Resort promises a legendary lineup of haunted houses, scare zones and more. The overall theme will be "Infernal Carnival of Nightmares" (peep the first letters of each word — I.C.O.N.), bringing back Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow, two of HHN's biggest icons. You'll get to witness their bloody backstory in Jack and Oddfellow: Chaos and Control, the first announced house. If you're planning a trip this fall, check out our HHN planning guide for some tips.
- Disney Eats dropped the first look at new and returning menu items for Disneyland After Dark: Disney Channel Nite, taking place April 12, 14 and 16, 2026. From Loaded Dino Nuggies to Ice Cream Tacos, you’ll surely feel nostalgic as you chow down on these childhood-inspired bites. For more info on this special after-hours event, hop over to our guide.
- Disneyland Resort had a busy week with Bluey and Bananas. Bluey's Best Day Ever! officially opened, and we can say firsthand what a frogtastic addition it is for the whole family, especially the littles. With rotating shows featuring Bluey and her sister, Bingo, it's also a place for play and dance. It's definitely a must-do spot for any "Bluey" fans and parents who want their kids to get the wiggles out.
- Also this week, the Savannah Bananas paid a visit to Disneyland Resort. The high-energy of Banana Ball extended to in-park performances, making it a fun-filled day for fans. Check out all of our Bluey and Savannah Bananas coverage over on our Instagram @themeparkfrog or YouTube channel.
That's a wrap on the latest theme park and cruise news.
Hoppy planning!
