From the sinister scare zones to the eerie entertainment, Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida is a spooktacular event we look forward to every single year. The stars of the show, however, are the horrifying haunted houses that bring our greatest fears to life and plunge us into adventures straight out of our worst nightmares. Each fall, Universal's Entertainment team succeeds in scaring the living daylights out of us as we bravely enter 10 all-new terrifying tents and soundstages that house both popular IPs — which, this year, include "Sinners" and the return of "Stranger Things" — and unique, original ideas. Get acquainted with the stories coming to life at this event in our in-depth guide to the Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights houses. While we wait for more information on Halloween Horror Nights 2026 houses, we've left in last year's plan of attack, so you have an idea of what to expect.

Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Theme
The best Halloween Horror Nights Orlando icons are returning — and this time, they're teaming up. For anniversary years, the HHN creative team loves to bring back icons and mix nightmarish nostalgia with new sinister storylines for fans to sink their teeth into. Jack the Clown and his rival, Dr. Oddfellow, have had a very bloody and violent history over the years. But this year? They're finally realizing that if they unite (begrudgingly, of course), they can engineer horror like they've never done before. The Halloween Horror Nights 35 theme will be Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, led by these two evil ringmasters of fear. While they will have their own haunted house, you won't be able to escape them, as they'll permeate every aspect of the event.
2026 Haunted Houses
There are normally five IP houses and five original concept houses, but those numbers can shift from year to year.
Jack and Oddfellow: Chaos and Control
Fans will be able to step into Jack and Oddfellow's story right where it all started. According to the HHN creative team at a MegaCon Orlando panel, the house starts with Jack the Clown's origin as killer Jack Schmidt (the first time we'll see him in his human form!). Jack joins Oddfellow's traveling circus, but as Jack became unpredictable and violent, Oddfellow killed Jack and put him in a box. This is where the house begins, with Oddfellow narrating Jack's origin story, within Oddfellow's domain, the Oddverse. But Jack refuses to stay contained, and he fights for control over his own story. As their conflict rises, it comes to a chilling climax when they realize that a fear divided is a fear diluted.
Sinners
"You keep dancing with the devil, one day he's gonna follow you home."
Travel back in time to 1932 Clarksdale, where the libations flow freely and sultry blues music fills the air. It's a night to remember inside the hoppening Club Juke run by the respected and feared Smokestack Twins ... until terror arrives at their front door. In this relentless haunted house based on the award-winning original horror film, "Sinners," you'll come face-to-fang over and over again with Remmick, Bert, Joan and the rest of their ever-growing clan of bloodthirsty vamps. Prepare to cross paths with Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline, Cornbread and, of course, Smoke and Smack as you attempt to survive one fateful night in the bleeding heart of the Mississippi Delta. Gather your stakes and garlic. You just have to make it to sunrise.
And yes, we have confirmation that the film's iconic soundtrack and score will be well represented, and the jaw-dropping "I Lied to You" sequence, where Preacher Boy pierces the veil, will be brought to life in stunning fashion. "Somebody take me" to HHN 35 already ...
Stranger Things 5
Universal Studios Florida is turning "upside down" one last time. Developed in partnership with Netflix, the thrilling fifth and final season of "Stranger Things" will come to life this spooky season in an all-new haunted house at Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights.
It's the fall of 1987. The government has taken over Hawkins. Rockin' Robin's on the radio. Eleven's in hiding. And our beloved party is in the midst of the hunt for Henry Creel. Moments away from enacting his plan to merge the universes and create a brand-new world, Vecna will be hot on your heels as you relive the most gripping moments of the worldwide phenomenon's final season.
Encounter favorite characters and navigate iconic locations, such as the Wheeler House, Hawkins National Laboratory and the MAC-Z military base, as well as the ominous realms of the Upside Down and the Abyss. Evade a host of horrifying supernatural creatures, including an army of Demogorgons and the massive Mind Flayer ... all while the barrier between reality and the supernatural threatens to collapse and unleash an ominous darkness.
I just have one question for you, nerds: Do you believe?
(Side note: As we were watching this season, the Frog Family unanimously agreed that there was one specific scene that was tailor-made to be in a Halloween Horror Nights house. Suffice to say, we're very excited about this one!!!)
H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!
Don't turn that dial! Your favorite host of horror is back with a vengeance.
At HHN 21, viewers were introduced to Larry Kurtzberg, a former Broadway actor-turned-taxidermist who returned to the spotlight in the 1970s as H.R. Bloodengutz — the star of the "WKNB Midnight Horror Show." When ratings began to drop drastically (due to his holiday-themed horror episodes taking a rather disturbing turn), Larry kidnapped and tortured the show's producer and crew as he broadcast "Midnight Mayhem" for what audiences thought was the final time.
Upon escaping from a lifelong prison sentence on All Hallows' Eve, the "master of scaremonies" has returned to the WKNB Television Station for one last Halloween Special of gruesome proportions. Set 15 years after the events of "H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: Holidays of Horror," Carey, Ohio's beloved creature feature host has returned to showcase seven of his favorite straight-to-TV Halloween films he never got to air during his initial run (some of which are callbacks to HHN's past).
Just like the original house, you'll be ushered through the story via queue line videos and in-house footage (filmed by the same actor who portrayed Bloodengutz at his debut house!) where he tells the story of each of the movies he's presenting, as well as his own backstory. From a black-and-white zombie film set in an old graveyard to a Halloween party at a tiki bar overrun by monsters, this is one movie marathon you do not want to miss.
Fun fearsome fact: Not only did Bloodengutz briefly resurface in HHN30's "Welcome to SCarey: Horror in the Heartland" house, but he also recently made his way over to Las Vegas, where he moonlighted as The Feaster Bunny for a season at Universal Horror Unleashed!
MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals
In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, animals have gone extinct, and human beings have turned to the one source of protein left to sustain themselves: each other.
You seek refuge in an abandoned zoo, only to discover it's now the dastardly domain of territorial, warring cannibal factions. Having long succumbed to their primal instincts — taking on the traits of the creatures who were caged up before them — these bloodthirsty carnivores are eager for their next meal ... and it just came walking through the gates. Will you make it out of this menacing menagerie alive?
There's only one rule here: Do. Not. Feed. The. Beasts.
Described as one of the bloodiest houses of the year by Universal's Entertainment team, MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals will feature intense, in-your-face scares and a jaw-dropping scenic aesthetic ... as well as some "interesting" odors. (BRB. Digging out my nose plugs from "Terrifier" last year!)
Cybergoria
Immortality always comes at a cost.
The Bio Immortal Bionic Intelligent Systems corporation discovered a scientific breakthrough ... or so they claimed. In an effort to expand one's lifespan eternally, they offered willing customers the chance to undergo a cryo-freezing process to preserve them until the groundbreaking tech caught up with the rest of the world. Unfortunately (as these things tend to go), they could never fully deliver on their promise.
Upon waking up from your deep sleep in human freezer bags centuries later (we see you and appreciate you, blissful air conditioning!), you'll enter a disturbing brave new world where human and robot parts have been combined in an attempt to keep living tissue alive. With man and machine now melded into one deeply unsettling being, you'll venture through both the intelligent facility that tried to make do with its limited resources and the eerie outside world that's forever been changed.
Aggressive and highly integrated, everything in this house is manufactured to scare the living daylights out of you, including a disorienting set of well-designed mirror elements that will leave you wondering just which way to turn next.
INVASION: Alien Abduction
They most certainly don't come in peace ...
One dark, unassuming night, strange visitors from another planet descend upon a rural homestead in search of fresh test subjects. Searching high and low, smashing through walls and grabbing whatever living beings their heat-seeking devices detect, these fearsome extraterrestrials are unprejudiced and downright terrifying. You may be able to run, but you certainly can't hide.
Set amongst the turquoise hues and cactus-littered landscapes of the Southwest, this house will use lights to manifest a two-football-field-sized alien spacecraft, vibrating floors to convey the absolute desolation of the house and the expectation of little gray men to horrify you with what you'll come face-to-face (?) with. With gigantic tentacles and organic claws stalking you left and right, this brand-new, chaotic tale of terror is heavy on the gore and violence, a love letter to fans of Horror Nights' past, and will have you holding on to your fellow future abductees for dear life. Safe to say, this isn't your grandpa's abduction story.
Hellraiser
"We have such sights to show you."
One of horror's most influential franchises is making its Halloween Horror Nights debut. Based on the first three films of Clive Barker's sadistic, cinematic universe, the "Hellraiser" house will transport you to another dimension where desire, suffering and the unknown collide.
Your torturous experience begins as you enter the foreboding Lament Configuration puzzle box — unknowingly summoning the masochistic Cenobites and opening a gateway to a demonic dimension where unimaginable horrors await. As you venture from the shadowy attic in Frank Cotton's family home where he was first cast down to the underworld to the unsettling Channard Institute where the legendary box lures unsuspecting victims with the promise of forbidden pleasures, you'll encounter spine-tingling moments and settings around every corner. Ultimately, your nightmare will lead you to The Labyrinth where Pinhead (voiced by original actor Doug Bradley) and his fearsome followers lie in wait for new souls to torment for all eternity.
In a realm where pain and pleasure are intertwined ... your screams are music to their ears.
How to Conquer the Halloween Horror Nights Houses
With the biggest draw of the event each year being the haunted houses, we probably don't have to tell you that lines for them can get very long! If you want to make the most of your evening, you need to decide what is important to you. Do you want to just focus on houses? Would you like to see a few houses and a show? Would you just like to ride attractions since the wait times for them will be low? Since the houses are what most people come for — and see the highest waits — they are our first priority.
Because of the number of houses and the popularity of the event, it is nearly impossible to see them all in one night. We recommend choosing four or five must-do houses and getting those in first. Then, see if you have any time left after you’ve checked them off the list. Those who are staying in the park or arriving ahead of the official opening at 6:30 p.m. could do five, six or perhaps even more houses. We have been able to get all 10 houses done by utilizing Stay & Scream and being very strategic with our night — getting the bulk of the houses done during both the early entry period and the last two hours of the event, while taking the middle of the night when wait times are highest to get on rides and see shows.
If you want to experience everything, not have to worry about waiting in long lines, be a little more lax with your night and even get the opportunity to go through a few Halloween Horror Nights houses a second time, either plan on visiting Halloween Horror Nights multiple nights, opt for a R.I.P. Tour (only sold through Universal) or purchase a Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass (only sold through Universal). We cannot overstate how invaluable Express is.

2025 Plan of Attack
We've left in last year's details so you have an idea of what to expect!
In 2025, at 9:40 p.m., when Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters had a 60-minute posted wait time, we got to the entrance in only four minutes with our Express passes. We also saved 112 minutes in the Five Nights at Freddy's queue with Express around 11:05 p.m. and 84 minutes in the Terrifier queue with Express around 1:12 a.m.
Wait times started hitting their highest points around 8:55 p.m. when Grave of Flesh peaked at 85 minutes. They started dying down by around 12:30 a.m. when Gálkn: Monsters of the North was showing a 35-minute posted wait time. The highest posted wait time number we saw all night was Five Nights at Freddy's during the Stay & Scream period at around 5:45 p.m. when it peaked at 185 minutes. (I say "number" because it did open up at capacity at 5:15 p.m. It then started letting guests into the queue at 5:30 p.m. when it went down to 155 minutes.) On the opposite end of the spectrum, the lowest wait time we saw was also during the Stay & Scream period when Hatchet and Chains Demon Bounty Hunters valleyed at five minutes at around 5:45 p.m., as well.
As for last year's three fan-favorite houses: Five Nights at Freddy's had its lowest wait of 45 minutes from around 1:30 a.m. to park close. Jason Universe had its lowest wait of 10 minutes from around 6:05 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and its highest wait of 130 minutes from around midnight to 12:30 a.m. Terrifier had its lowest wait time of 60 minutes from around 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and again at 11:10 p.m. and its highest wait time of 115 minutes from about 9:40 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and again from 1:20 a.m. to around 1:40 a.m.
Overall, we saw that, once again, Early Entry and the last hour of the event are the best times to hit up the most amount of houses, as it's undoubtedly when you'll find the lowest wait times. Fallout started out high, opening up with a 75-minute wait at 5:15 p.m., but did it drop down to 20 minutes by 6:05 p.m. Similarly, WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks started out high, opening up with a 90-minute wait at 5:15 p.m. before dropping down to 25 minutes at 6:05 p.m. In the last hour, Dolls: Let's Play Dead, Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters and WWE: Presents the Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks all dipped down to 10-minute waits.
As for our personal frog favorite house of the event, El Artista: A Spanish Haunting, it hit its lowest wait time of 30 minutes at around 1:40 a.m. and its highest wait time of 90 minutes at around 10 p.m.
All that being said, here are our top tips for conquering the 2026 Halloween Horror Nights houses:
- Wait until the end of the night to go through the popular houses and knock out the less busy houses first.
- Last year (and we're expecting a similar arrangement again this year), due to ongoing construction for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, there were two new Haunted House Access Paths to enter the houses in the soundstages behind the Music Plaza Stage. In 2025, guests used Path A to enter the queues for Five Nights at Freddy's WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks and Path B to enter the queues for Terrifier and Grave of Flesh.
- Do the sprung tent houses in the very back of the park back-to-back so you don't have to make the long trek to their respective queues twice.
- Most of the queues open at 4 p.m. This may exclude the houses that typically utilize the queues for Fast & Furious - Supercharged and The Simpsons Ride, respectively.
