Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting theme park news around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and other theme parks.
Here Are This Week’s Theme Park Highlights:
- "Come and play" with your favorite "Sesame Street" friends at SeaWorld San Diego! An all-new theme park, Sesame Place, will open in spring 2021. Sesame Place will feature seven rides, an interactive musical play area and 11 water attractions, including a 500,000 gallon wave pool. The 17-acre park will also include an interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood, complete with the iconic 123 Stoop, live character shows, a daily parade and character meet-and-greets! Sesame Place will be located on the site of the current Aquatica San Diego, and will open as a Certified Autism Center. - We can taste the hot butterbeer already! Dates for the Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood have been released. From Nov. 28 to Dec. 29, 2019, guests can enjoy Grinchmas with the mean greenie himself, or the dazzling Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. (Of course, your other green friends have all of the details about the event so that you're ready to get your jingle on!)
- This year's celebrity narrator lineup for Epcot International Festival of the Holidays' Candlelight Processional is officially complete! Rounding off the celebrity narrators retelling the story of Christmas are Chita Rivera on Dec. 11-12 and Warwick Davis on Dec. 19-21, 2019.
- If you saw the latest trailer for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," you caught a glimpse of the the ocean moon, Kef Bir. And on Dec. 20, 2019, when the movie hits theaters, you can also hop on a Starspeeder 1000 to visit Kef Bir! The destination will be featured on Star Tours - The Adventures Continue attractions at the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort. - Knott's Berry Farm is turning 100! To celebrate, the park is throwing a summer-long Knott's Family Reunion event in 2020. The event will feature special decor, live entertainment, themed food and merchandise, and even more surprises. Hoppy anniversary, Knott's Berry Farm!
- Are you sitting down? Universal Orlando Resort's all-new fourth theme park, Universal's Epic Universe, could open as early as 2023! Leaping lily pads! Don't worry: We've already started compiling every detail we could get our froggy fingers on so that you don't miss a single tidbit ... and we'll keep this post updated as we learn more. While we wait for this epic opening, Universal Orlando Resort has a ton of fun to offer in the meantime ...
