The Las Vegas skyline just got a whole lot brighter. In September 2023, the MSG Sphere at the Venetian Resort opened to the public. This 18,600-seat music and entertainment arena has gone viral for its unique exterior which features 580,000 square feet of LED displays. It has projected everything from celestial bodies, such as Earth, Mars and the moon to unique images, such as an adorable animated emoji face and a magical shaking snow globe. The interior is just as impressive, boasting a 160,000-square-foot 16K resolution wraparound LED screen — the largest and highest resolution LED screen in the world. It also has the ability to utilize 4D features, such as scent and wind. It's also played host to some incredible concerts. Upcoming live shows include The Eagles, Dead & Company, Kenny Chesney, and, just announced, the Backstreet Boys. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about the largest spherical building in the world!

Where Is the MSG Sphere Located?
The MSG Sphere is just off the Las Vegas strip and east of the Venetian Resort at 255 Sands Avenue. Measuring 366 feet high and 516 feet wide at its broadest point, the Sphere reshaped the Las Vegas skyline. Guests can enter the property on foot via Sands Avenue or Westchester Drive. They can enter the Sphere via the Plaza Entry on the east side of the building. You can also access The Sphere via the pedestrian bridge connected to The Venetian Resort.
Parking is available both onsite and in nearby lots, and can be purchased in advance of your event. Rideshare pick-up and drop-off for the Sphere is located at the corner of Sands Avenue and Koval Lane. On event days, Sphere staff will be onsite to direct you to the venue. You're encouraged to arrive early. If driving or arriving by car, allow for more travel time due to potential street closures.
Choosing Seats at the MSG Sphere
The Sphere can accommodate a whopping 20,000 people in standing capacity and 18,600 with just seating capacity. Haptic technology is incorporated into 10,000 of the venue's seats — allowing audience members to "feel" various atmospheric effects. Seating covers approximately two-thirds of the interior, while the stage takes up the remainder of the space. The venue has nine levels, including the basement where a VIP club is located. It also features 23 suites across the third and fifth floors.
Be cautious when booking seats in the 100 level. Because it's under the upper levels, audience members seated here won't be able to look up and see the breathtaking screen stretching all the way to the top of the sphere. The 200 and 300 levels offer the best of both worlds with an unobstructed view from floor to ceiling AND proximity to the stage where performers stand. The 400s, meanwhile, have the same sweeping views of the screen. Seats located in this section, however, are further away from the stage. General admission doesn't have physical seats but does have the best view in the house. It's close to the stage and has a direct screen view all the way up to the ceiling.
One thing to be aware of is the temperature inside the MSG Sphere. You'll want to cover your legs and bring a sweater, sweatshirt or jacket. It's not something you might think about, especially when temperatures are in the triple digits. But you might feel some cold wind in there. The temperature is set to the mid-70s but can feel chilly in contrast to the outside. And it may feel especially cold if you are dressed for the heat.
Events at the MSG Sphere
The groundbreaking venue's debut event was the opening night of "U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere." U2 was the first musical act to have a residency at the Sphere from September 2023 to March 2024. If you missed it, you can still catch the immersive concert film of the performance. With the amazing effects, you'll feel like you are seeing them live. Other bands that followed with residencies of their own include:
- Phish (2024)
- Dead & Company (through May 17, 2025)
- The Eagles (through April 2025)
- Kenny Chesney (May 24 through June 14, 2025)
- The Backstreet Boys (select dates in July 2025)
Actual dates could change and artists may extend show runs.
Films and Other Shows
On non-concert dates, guests can purchase tickets to "Postcard from Earth," a multi-sensory film by acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky. This 50-minute cinematic experience was filmed in jaw-dropping 18k resolution. It paints a portrait of our planet, re-imagined as a futuristic sci-fi experience. The film features various elements, including seat haptics, movement sensations, flashing lights, intense lighting, visual effects, loud noises and atmospheric simulations that may include fog, scent and wind. Such elements may aggravate certain medical or physical conditions and guests should take into consideration if they have a history of discomfort or physical symptoms when experiencing these elements.
On select dates, you can experience "V-U2 An Immersive Concert Film."
The MSG Sphere hosts award shows and concerts, in addition to other entertainment events. It also has the capability to host ring events, such as boxing and mixed martial arts — as well as esports tournaments.
