Hoppy holidays! For those visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays, you are in for a treat. Of course, it's always fun to celebrate with some festive holiday merchandise. I look forward to the holiday collections each year, and this year did not disappoint! You'll be sure to get something for everyone on your wishlist. As a present to you, here's the 2022 holiday merchandise guide, with the best locations, our favorite finds and all our tips for a stress-free shopping experience!
Where to Find Holiday Merchandise at Disney World
While holiday merchandise can be found throughout Walt Disney World, there are some key places that will have the most merchandise available. The Emporium at Magic Kingdom and World of Disney at Disney Springs will be your best stores for holiday souvenirs, as these shops dedicate whole sections to seasonal merchandise.
Other main shops include Creations Shop at EPCOT, Mickey's of Hollywood at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Discovery Trading Company at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Days of Christmas at Disney Springs. You may find limited holiday merchandise elsewhere, including resort shops. Many items are also available online on ShopDisney.
Now that we have a list of the best places to find holiday merchandise at Disney World, let's unwrap the 2022 collections!
Disney World Holiday Merchandise 2022
Starting off with the main holiday merchandise collection, Mickey and friends are featured in their holiday best with the Mickey Mouse Vintage Christmas Collection and the Disney Homestead Winter Collection. You'll find adorable t-shirts, sweatshirts, spirit jerseys, ears and more, perfect for a magical holiday celebration.
Enjoy fun graphics and vibrant colors with the smaller Pixar holiday collection. "Toy" to the World, indeed!
Celebrate your holiday traditions with the Mickey Hanukkah collection! And don't froget about the special Olaf-themed collection at the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
Our Holiday Merchandise Froggy Favorites
Starting with our froggy favorites, the ears this year are absolutely gorgeous! The deluxe holiday ear headband is an off-white cream color covered in jewels and topped with a sparkly bow. The headband retails for $49.99, so a bit more of a splurge, but a wonderful holiday treat for yourself or others.
We have trouble deciding our favorite because the green holiday ears are also calling my name! The soft velvet green ears are paired with a red sequin bow and a white pom-pom. These ears retail for $34.99.
Both ears are perfect for the holiday season. Other holiday ears include a light blue snow ear headband featuring Mickey and Minnie. So many festive choices!
Get decked out from head to toe this holiday season with lots of great apparel options. Though hard to choose, we liked the red Mickey crewneck the best, retailing for $54.99. How cute is Mickey in his festive best? There is also a green version with Minnie on it. Like all collections, there is also a spirit jersey in various colors of green with repeating icons.
The popular Disney Starbucks tumblers continue with the red-and-green cup for $49.99.
Tips for Getting Holiday Merchandise at Disney World
Here are some hoppin' tips on snagging all the merchandise on your wishlist!
- We can't emphasize enough — if you see it and want it, BUY it! There is no guarantee it will be elsewhere in the resort or even at that same store the next time you visit.
- With that, sizing can also get limited during the holidays as stock diminishes (remember though that spirit jerseys run bigger, so we typically size down).
- Often Disney starts putting out merchandise for the new year in December, meaning it can be hard to find a dated "2022" souvenir to remember your end-of-year trip. Keep an eye out though, as some year-specific merchandise may still be available.
- During extremely peak days, some stores such as the Emporium or World of Disney may implement a virtual queue to enter the stores. You would typically join via the My Disney Experience app or with a QR code, and then be able to shop once notified.
Did you know you can even get personalized merchandise at Disney World? Cast members at Ye Old Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom and Disney's Days of Christmas in Disney Springs can create beautiful custom ornaments — a perfect memento for your holiday trip! Also at Disney Springs, Disney's Wonderful World of Memories provides custom Disney souvenirs, such as personalized Mickey ear hats!
You can also personalize your favorite tech accessories with D-Tech on Demand in the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs, as well as smaller locations at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Get custom phone cases, MagicBands and more! Certain locations even offer kiosks for custom apparel options, so you can create custom shirts from a wide variety of colors and Disney artwork.
Many stores now offer Merchandise Mobile Checkout so you can check out faster and get back to riding your favorite attractions! Using the My Disney Experience app, select your shop and enable location services. Scan the barcodes of all of your items and digitally checkout (eligible linked discounts will automagically apply). Then show your confirmation code to the designated cast member near the exit. A receipt will be emailed to you, and you can still perform returns as usual. It's that easy!
Current stores offering this feature include:
- Magic Kingdom: Emporium
- EPCOT: Creations Shop and Treasures of Xandar
- Disney's Hollywood Studios: Mickey's of Hollywood and Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities
- Disney's Animal Kingdom: Discovery Trading Company and Island Mercantile
- Disney Springs: World of Disney and Super Hero Headquarters
Worried about getting all of your magical souvenirs home? Disney World offers home shipping at an additional cost. Any merchandise location offers this service, so just let the cashier know when checking out. If you're shopping at multiple locations, hold off until your last stop and save your receipts from the other locations. Then you can hand off your items and ship them all at once! Shipping costs are based on the final price total, regardless of size or weight. You'll be provided a printed copy with a tracking number.
In the past, Disney World offered both front-of-park package pick-up as well as resort pick-up. These services remain unavailable since the COVID reopening. There's always a chance they resume the front-of-park pick-up service, but we would not bank on it. If possible, try to shop for bigger items as you are headed out of the park.
Flying home with a custom lightsaber from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge? You can either pay to ship them home or typically you can carry them with you on the airplane. TSA states that sabers are toadally safe and permissible for air travel in either your checked or carry-on luggage. A TSA agent may ask you to remove the lightsaber from the padded sheath for additional screening (we were not asked, but it does hoppen). It can head through the screening area just like any other carry-on luggage. Certain airlines may count it as one of your personal items, so be sure to check with your airline to see what its policy is before you travel so that you don't end up with extra bag fees!
We hope this helps you with all of your magical shopping this year! What holiday merchandise is on your wishlist this year? Let us know in the comments below!
