Raise your hand if you're Team Figment! The purple dragon represents a figment of our imagination and shows us that anything is possible. Plus, he's pretty mischievous too! Figment is prominently featured at EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort and is considered an unofficial mascot of the park. In addition, he is seen in merchandise, scavenger hunts and even has his own ride! His catchy theme song, "One Little Spark," is sure to be stuck in your head all day. Plus, you can now interact with Figment in a whole new way with the Figment meet-and-greet! Figment also gets an extra spotlight during the creative EPCOT International Festival of the Arts with additional offerings. Here are all the ways you can celebrate Figment at EPCOT!
Who is Figment?
Okay, so if you're going to EPCOT and keep seeing this little purple dragon on merch, snacks and signs, that's Figment! He’s kind of a big deal there. Figment was created by Disney Imagineers back in the '80s for the attraction Journey Into Imagination. Figment represents creativity and imagination, and that’s exactly why he’s become the unofficial mascot of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.
You can still ride Journey Into Imagination with Figment at the Imagination Pavilion, although the attraction has been reimagined and looks very different from its opening day. The ride is super nostalgic for longtime Disney fans and is fun from start to finish. And now, you can even meet Figment in person inside ImageWorks! Meet-and-greets are usually available at varied times starting at park opening through mid-afternoon.
Figment is one of those characters people either grew up loving or instantly fall for when they visit EPCOT.
Year-Round Figment Offerings at EPCOT
To begin with, Figment fans can have plenty of fun year-round with offerings at EPCOT.
Journey Into Imagination With Figment
We, of course, have to start our Figment journey at his featured ride — Journey Into Imagination with Figment! Located in World Celebration near The Land Pavilion, hop aboard the slow-moving dark ride as Dr. Nigel Channing gives you a tour of the Imagination Institute. Figment steals the show and shows off the five senses in a silly way. Additionally, prepare for some vivid sights, sounds and smells on this whimsical adventure!
Figment Meet-and-Greet
Get excited as you can now meet Figment in person! The Figment character meet-and-greet is located at the ImageWorks building (coincidentally also the exit to his ride!). When this meet-and-greet debuted, his line was well over 2 hours long! Now, however, it averages closer to 30 minutes to an hour. Meanwhile, the queue and meet-and-greet are entirely inside, making it a great way to beat the heat!
Though times are always subject to change, Figment is typically available:
- 9 a.m. — 12:30 p.m.
- 1:45 p.m. — 3:45 p.m.
Figment Merchandise
Want to celebrate all things Figment even at home? Be sure to grab some merchandise to celebrate the adorable dragon. Enjoy plushies, apparel, accessories and more! For the most options, check out the ImageWorks shop (which is also the exit to the Figment ride) and the Creations Shop or shop online at shopDisney.
Magic Shots
At select PhotoPass locations, you may find an extra spark of imagination with Figment Magic Shots. Photographers can digitally add certain characters or items to your photos. For example, we've sometimes gotten Magic Shots of Figment flying above us when taking photos in front of Spaceship Earth. Ask your photographer if they have any Figment-themed options, as locations can vary.
Figment Offerings During Festival of the Arts
While there is plenty to enjoy for Figment fans throughout the year, the purple dragon really thrives during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! Figment is the mascot for this colorful event, which occurs in January and February each year. This year's festival runs from Jan. 16 to Feb. 23, 2026, so be sure to hop over for lots of additional offerings.
Figment’s Inspiration Station
Last year, Figment had his own Food Studio booth during the festival! Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey served food and drinks bursting with vibrant colors and flavor. Our favorites last year were the blueberry Pop't Art cookie and the Rainbow Cake topped with freeze-dried Skittles — and good news, it's coming back this year! Stay tuned for menu announcements.
Figment's Brush With the Masters Scavenger Hunt
With Figment's Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt, froggies can search for Figment hiding inside famous works of art at each World Showcase pavilion. Maps are available for purchase at Disney Traders, Creations Shop and World Traveler for $11.99 (plus tax). Return the map to the same stores for a fun surprise! For example, last year's prize was stencils! We love doing scavenger hunts and this is a perfect activity to do as you enjoy your EPCOT day.
Festival of the Arts Merchandise
With Figment as the festival's mascot, he is, of course, heavily featured in the colorful merchandise—a perfect way to celebrate both Figment and one of our favorite festivals! The lineup of new Figment merch for this year's festival is too good! New Spirit Jerseys, Minnie Ears, mugs, hats, water bottles, plushies and even ornaments have been announced, and yes, I want all of them (sorry, Leap). Festival merchandise can be found at the Creations Shop as well as booths throughout the park.
Artwork
With so much creativity showcased at the Festival of the Arts, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Keep an eye out for Figment-inspired chalk art, paintings and more — with many works of art available for purchase!
Magic Shots
Remember those Magic Shots we mentioned earlier? Well, there are even more Figment ones during the Festival of the Arts. For instance, have Figment soar above you with a rainbow paintbrush or you can fly like Figment with orange wings on your back at most PhotoPass locations. Be sure to ask your photographer if they have any Figment-related shots!
Projections
Each of EPCOT's festivals debuts a different projection show on Spaceship Earth. In years past, the projections featured Figment, so we can't wait to see what is available for 2026. The shows are available nightly during the festival once it gets dark and alternate with other projection sequences.
