Chairman Dr. Nigel Channing (Eric Idle) invites you to attend an open house event of his prestigious Imagination Institute. On your way to the "event," you'll walk through a portrait gallery of past Inventor of the Year winners, including Dr. Channing, Dr. Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis from "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids") and Dr. Brainard (Robin Williams from "Flubber").
Once you board the slow-moving red vehicle, Dr. Channing will give you an overview of what you'll experience during the Open House. You'll also get your first glimpse of Figment. During your tour of the Imagination Institute, you'll be introduced (in clever and funny ways) to the five senses and reminded how intertwined they are with imagination. Tad and Lily wish their science lessons in school used catchy little tunes like the one in Journey Into Imagination With Figment! This attraction isn't especially exciting, but it has consistently short lines, is quite funny (beware the sense of smell part) and is beloved by kids.
Journey Into Imagination With Figment is located in the Imagination! Pavilion in Future World West at Epcot. The duration of the ride is about 6 minutes. It is geared more toward younger children, but it’s entertaining for guests of all ages. Each ride vehicle has 2 rows and can comfortably seat 2 adults or 2 adults and a small child per row. There are no lap restraints, but there is a closing door on each ride vehicle. Guests may remain in their wheelchair, motorized scooter or ECV to experience the attraction.
