Summary

Another character dining experience is back at Walt Disney World! Start the day with a delicious breakfast buffet and meet characters at Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort. Minnie and her friends are wearing their beachy best for Minnie's Beach Bash Breakfast. With rare outfits and a huge variety of breakfast goodies, Cape May Cafe is a wonderful character dining option. Let's dive in!

Minnie at Cape May Cafe

Overview of Cape May Cafe

Cape May Cafe is a table-service restaurant located at Disney's Beach Club Resort in Walt Disney World. The New England-inspired location is very bright and open with lots of beach-themed details (Lily loved the sand castles on display). Characters are available at breakfast only. Adults cost $45 per person while children cost $29 per person, plus tax and tip. The restaurant is also open for dinner (without characters) for a seafood-heavy buffet at $46 per adult or $27 per child, plus tax and tip.

Advanced reservations are highly recommended, though a limited waitlist may also be available on the day of. You can check with a cast member at the host stand or use the My Disney Experience app to join if the restaurant is accepting walk-ins.

Minnie and her friends are ready for the beach! Throughout breakfast, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy will make their way around the restaurant in fun beach outfits. These outfits are rare and generally only seen at this location (beach Minnie and Goofy may be seen with Mickey at the separately ticketed Disney H2O Glow After Hours held during the summer at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park).

Characters will rotate one by one through the restaurant, stopping at each table for a quick interaction and a chance for autographs and photos. There is even a mini "catch a wave" parade they do periodically. Surf's up!

With any character dining, the character lineup is subject to change, but this is the regular lineup. We loved interacting with the members of the Fab Five — we talked with Daisy about how she made her dress and sympathized with Donald about the lack of Donald waffles. All of the characters sign autographs, and you'll also receive a card with all four signatures on the back.

Cape May Cafe — Crepes

We were very impressed by the selection at Cape May Cafe. Having gone to many character dining breakfasts (all in the name of research for our character dining guide), you start to see the same classic lineup. Cape May Cafe took that traditional list and added even more delightful options, such as chocolate chip pancakes and even crepes! The variety really allowed everyone to find something they liked. (Can I also have Minnie waffles everywhere because who knew Mickey waffles could get any better?)

Our Final Thoughts on Cape May Cafe

Goofy at Cape May Cafe

We had a great time at Minnie Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe. The character interactions really made our morning and we were hoppily surprised by the wide selection of food. Plus, you know we frogs love buffets since everyone can easily choose what they want (don't froget to save room for crepes!)

When posing with characters, there are plenty of cast members or other guests around if you need someone to take a photo on your phone. With any character dining experience, you will have to deal with people and tables in the background, but it also means not waiting in line for a character meet-and-greet.

Overall, we recommend Cape May Cafe as another great character breakfast option.

Would this be a good alternative to Topolino’s breakfast if we can’t snag a reservation there? We have our heart set on the Riviera for our check out day, but I’ve heard that reservation is really hard to get. Our 60 day window is coming up soon! :) Thanks for a great post!

Hi Julie!

We think Cape May Cafe is a good alternative, as well as Chef Mickey's (Contemporary Resort) or Hollywood & Vine (Hollywood Studios; lunch or dinner only), which also feature select Fab Five characters. You could also try joining a Walk-Up list on the morning of, if you're unable to get a reservation (though also subject to availability and not guaranteed).

Hoppy planning!

Currently the only option for character breakfast for our travel dates is Cape May Cafe. My daughter is gluten and dairy free. Will there be options for her? Can she order something other than the breakfast buffet? Hate to spend the money and find out there isn't anything for her to eat.

Hi Lisa!

Whether you check in through the My Disney Experience app or let the host know in person upon arrival, Disney can accommodate allergy friendly requests. The chef can come out and talk with you personally about any concerns before placing an order.

Hoppy planning!

Hi Alexandra!

Thanks for hopping by — we hope you'll get a chance to have breakfast with Minnie too! If you can't get a reservation at Cape May Cafe, try Topolino's Terrace (breakfast only), Hollywood & Vine (lunch & dinner) or Chef Mickey's (breakfast & dinner).

Hoppy planning!
