Today we are wrapping up this little series I’ve been working on about slowing things down at Disney World. So far, we’ve slowed things down at Disney's Hollywood Studios EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Today, we are looking at one of the busiest parks at Disney World ... Magic Kingdom! Let’s get started!
Stop and Wait for a Spell at the Main Street USA Train Station
If you’ve ever walked in the Magic Kingdom, then you’ve walk right under one of my absolute favorite places to stop and smell the Disney roses! From the sights and sounds of Mainstreet USA to the crowds pouring into the park, this spot offers you the quintessential Disney experience. I love to park it right in front of Cinderella Castle, play on the old moving picture machines, and of course hop on the Walt Disney World Railroad for a scenic tour around the Magic Kingdom. This is one of three train stations in the park, but it is my absolute favorite! I highly recommend taking a break for a Premium Mickey Bar here the next time you are visiting the Magic Kingdom!
I chose this as a good slow down spot because: There is plenty of shade and seating, and there’s people watching for days, entertainment, a relaxed ride within your footsteps, and of course, plenty of space for napping (for small or young children).
Don’t Miss Main Street USA!
I love strolling down Main Street USA, but I know that when I visit Disney World with my family, most of the time, we make our way down Main Street in hot pursuit of some amazing rides and attractions. The problem is, often in our mad dash, we miss out on the awesome treasures. I’m not just talking about the shops of Main Street, I’m talking about the subtle details that make this so much more than a line of stores. From the pumped in smells of baking goodies to the sounds of “voice lessons,” actual haircuts, hidden treasures galore … and everything in between, you’ll be surprised if you really take a minute to see all that these beautifully designed buildings have to offer!
I chose this as a good slow down spot because: Main Street USA is full of shade, seating, sights, smells and sounds. Grab a spot for the parade or just take a stroll -- either way, you’re sure to unwind in the best way!
Take a Break With the Bears…the Country Bears!
Okay, so you probably remember from my other posts in this series that I love musicals, theater and performances! So it should be no surprise that I would include a musical … of sorts on this quick list of slow-down spots. The Bear Band may be animatronic, but I love spending time with them. The simplicity of the show takes me back to my childhood! I love clapping along with them, laughing at their jokes and of course singing some of my favorite songs in a twangy voice! I just can’t miss this attraction when I’m at Disney World. Even better, I find this spot to be the perfect way to slow things down and catch my breath in the midst of the hustle and bustle of this magical park.
I chose this as a good slow down spot because: The show is fully air conditioned, your little ones (and bigs ones alike) will love the entertainment, and you’ll be able to enjoy yourself while taking a break!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little series! I’ve had a fun time finding a few spots that help reverse that “go go go” mentality that I know I often develop at Disney World. I hope that you’ll take advantage of a few of these spots and savor your time in the parks! Thanks for reading! Until next time … keep it magical!
