When planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort, it's hopful to know which rides or experiences may be closed for refurbishment while you're there. Here's the schedule for current refurbishments and closings for the theme parks, hotels and CityWalk. Refurbishments are temporary closures (usually scheduled in advance but can take place last minute), seasonal refurbishments take place annually and permanent closures are no longer active in the parks. While we regularly keep this post updated, all refurbishments and closures are subject to change without notice.

Universal Orlando Refurbishments
Broken down into individual theme parks, CityWalk and Universal Orlando Resort hotels, here is the list of current and upcoming refurbishments and closures for Universal rides, attractions and experiences. It is possible that Universal may change the dates (whether to move up or postpone), so keep checking as your trip gets closer. We update this post every week to reflect any changes.

Universal Orlando Hotel Refurbishments
- Please pardon occasional bustling activity as Universal Orlando Resort refreshes the Italian village and makes updates to the façade of Loews Portofino Bay Hotel from now through March 2025.
Universal Orlando Seasonal Closures
Seasonal closures usually take place annually around the same time each year. These dates are estimates based on past closures. We will post confirmed dates under the park-specific refurbishments above.
- Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls: Usually closes for a month and a half in October or November.
- Jurassic Park River Adventure: Usually closes for several weeks to over a month in January.
- Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges: Usually closes for a month and a half from February to March.
