A visit to Walt Disney World is a foodie's dream! There's no doubt that Disney World has thrilling attractions and magical experiences but it's also a culinary adventure. Each of the four Disney World parks — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom — has a TON of delightful and unique snacks. But with so many drool-worthy options, it can be difficult to know where to start.
The Best Snacks at Disney World (And Where to Find Them!)
In this blog post, we will explore the best snacks to indulge in at each Disney World park. Let's just be honest ... the Frog Family could never turn down a delicious Disney snack! It's our kryptonite! So if you're ready (and hungry), let's get to snacking!
Magic Kingdom Snacks
Magic Kingdom is the epitome of classic Disney charm and it's where you can find an abundance of iconic snacks. Some of our must-try snacks include:
Dole Whip — Aloha Isle
No visit to Magic Kingdom is complete without indulging in the legendary Dole Whip. This creamy, pineapple-flavored soft-serve dessert is a refreshing treat on a warm Florida day. Whether you choose to enjoy it in a cup or as a float with pineapple juice, the tropical flavors of the Dole Whip will transport you to a tropical paradise. My favorite way to order a Dole Whip is swirled with the coconut Dole Whip. Ahh, bliss!
Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar — Various Locations
A true Disney classic, the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar is a must-try snack. Shaped like Mickey Mouse's iconic silhouette and coated in rich chocolate, this creamy vanilla ice cream treat is both delicious and Instagram-worthy. We also love Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Sandwich. In our family, it's always a heated debate on which one is the best. You can find these at various snack stands throughout all four Disney parks and Disney Springs.
Cupcakes — Various Locations
The aroma of freshly baked cupcakes wafting through the air is irresistible, making them a must-try snack at Magic Kingdom. These delectable desserts come in a variety of flavors, from classic chocolate and vanilla to more adventurous options such as red velvet or cookies and cream. Every cupcake is finished with a mound of icing. Disney is VERY generous with the icing and we aren't mad about it!
Each cupcake is meticulously decorated with designs inspired by the seasons, holidays or iconic Disney characters. The vibrant colors, edible glitter and special details make these cupcakes a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Disney cupcakes aren't just native to Magic Kingdom. Cupcakes can be found throughout all four parks, at Disney Springs and at the Disney World Resorts.
Gaston's Cinnamon Roll — Gaston's Tavern
For a snack fit for a ravenous appetite, head to Gaston's Tavern and try the famous Gaston's Cinnamon Roll. This colossal treat is topped with a generous amount of sweet icing and has a soft, gooey center. The cinnamon roll makes for a hearty breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up. We like to pair our cinnamon rolls with the LeFou's Brew — an apple-flavored slushy with a hint of marshmallow. DELISH!
Corn Dog Nuggets — Casey's Corner
Casey's Corner is a beloved hot dog spot, and its Corn Dog Nuggets are a crowd favorite. These bite-sized delights feature crispy, golden-brown batter wrapped around juicy mini hot dogs. We love to dip our nuggies into a side of tangy mustard, ketchup or the cheese sauce (best dollar ever spent). When you're craving something savory, these nuggets fit the bill!
Plaza Ice Cream Sundae — Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
Escape the Florida heat with an ice cream sundae from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. This charming parlor has a variety of flavors as well as both hot fudge and caramel toppings to create your perfect sundae. Pick your flavors and toppings to customize your creation. Picture yourself indulging in a creamy ice cream treat while strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. It just doesn't get any better than that.
Turkey Leg — Various Locations
If you're in the mood for a hearty and savory snack, then the iconic Turkey Leg might just be your thing. These jumbo-sized smoked turkey legs are a carnivore's dream. In a way, these have become a symbol of theme park indulgence ... despite the fact that ya either love 'em or ya don't. Leap is the turkey leg eater in our family. He says it makes him feel like a medieval knight at a grand feast. He's so froggy! ;)
Waffle Sandwich — Sleepy Hollow Refreshments
Sleepy Hollow is a quick-service eatery where you can find the famed waffle sandwiches. These waffle sandwiches combine the best of two worlds: a scrumptious, golden-brown Belgian waffle and a variety of mouthwatering fillings. If you're in the mood for something sweet, you'll want to try the classic fresh fruit and Nutella waffle. In a savory mood? Then the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken-Waffle Sandwich is the way to go!
Cheeseburger Spring Rolls — Adventureland Spring Roll Cart
When at Magic Kingdom, you just gotta try the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls! These mouthwatering morsels are a twist on the classic cheeseburger. It combines the flavors of a juicy beef patty, melted cheese and tangy pickles, all wrapped in a crispy spring roll wrapper. Each bite is a harmonious symphony of textures and flavors. These remind us a little bit of a McDonald's Big Mac, but much better. The Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are served with a side of zesty dipping sauce and can easily be enjoyed on the go while exploring the park.
EPCOT Snacks
EPCOT, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, is the Disney World park that celebrates culture, innovation and global flavors. With World Showcase featuring pavilions representing different countries, a trip to EPCOT is a culinary experience like no other. Some of the best food we have ever eaten has been at EPCOT. It's REALLY hard to narrow it down, but if we must, here are our favorites.
School Bread — Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe, Norway Pavilion
Embark on your snacking adventure with a visit to the Norway Pavilion and try out the School Bread. This sweet roll is filled with vanilla custard and topped with toasted coconut. We think it's the perfect combination of soft, creamy and subtly sweet flavors. The Viking Coffee is also a caffeine-filled treat that I seem to go back for again and again. It pairs very nicely with the School Bread.
Jumbo Pretzel — Germany Pavilion
At the Germany Pavilion, make a stop at the beer and pretzel cart and grab the Bavarian-inspired Jumbo Pretzel. Served warm and fresh, this snack is big enough to share! Pair it with the iconic grapefruit beer — we promise you won't be sad.
Croissant Donut — Connections Café
Head to Connections Café and discover the funky but amazing fusion of croissant and doughnut in the form of a Croissant Doughnut. This flaky pastry, coated with cinnamon sugar, has layers of buttery goodness. The textures and flavors meld together, making it both a sweet and unique treat to try! The Croissant Doughnut is available on and off throughout the year. If you see it on the menu, be sure to nab one!
Poutine — Refreshment Port
For a savory classic and also available at the Refreshment Port, order a plate of Poutine. This comforting snack features crispy french fries topped with rich gravy and cheese curds. This snack is the ultimate comfort food. It will certainly satisfy you when you're craving something warm and hearty.
Croque Glacé — L'Artisan des Glaces, France Pavilion
Got a sweet tooth? Then head to at L'Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion and order the oh-so-yummy Croque Glacé. This treat is created with a warm brioche bun, a scoop of your favorite ice cream flavor and topped with a drizzle of velvety chocolate or caramel sauce. The warm-cold contrast and sweet combo make this snack a standout. Our two tadpoles love being able to watch as the cast members make their treats behind the counter.
Frushi — Hanami, Japan Pavilion
In the Japan Pavilion, Hanami has a unique snack called Frushi. A playful twist on sushi, Frushi is made with fresh fruit, coconut rice and a hint of sweet sauce. Each bite is a burst of fruity flavors. We enjoy this treat because it's on the lighter side and is super refreshing. This snack is typically available during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
Funnel Cake — American Adventure Pavilion
Try out a classic American favorite by visiting the American Adventure Pavilion and treating yourself to a funnel cake. This deep-fried pastry, topped with powdered sugar or a variety of delicious toppings such as fruit, chocolate sauce or whipped cream, is a Frog Family-favorite! Throughout the year, the type of funnel cakes offered change with the seasons, special events or EPCOT festivals. We don't mind because we know there's always a new and different funnel cake to try on our next visit. Funnel cakes always seem to bring back my childhood memories of visiting fairs and amusement parks while growing up.
Disney's Hollywood Studios Snacks
Disney's Hollywood Studios is the perfect place for movie enthusiasts and thrill-seekers. Amidst the glitz and glamour, you'll find an assortment of snacks to fuel your adventures.
Carrot Cake Cookie — Trolley Car Café
Start your snacking journey with a visit to the Trolley Car Café and snag the popular Carrot Cake Cookie. This sweet sandwich-style treat is made with two moist carrot cake cookies filled with a luscious cream cheese frosting. This one is big enough to share and pairs perfectly with a hot coffee.
Ronto Wrap — Ronto Roasters
For a savory snack, head to Ronto Roasters in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and try the mouthwatering Ronto Wrap. This delicious wrap is created with roasted pork, grilled sausage, tangy slaw and a zesty peppercorn sauce all wrapped in a warm pita. It's a protein-filled snack that will transport you to a galaxy far, far away.
Blue or Green Milk — Milk Stand
Step into the immersive world of "Star Wars" by visiting the Milk Stand, where you can cool off with a unique beverage. Choose between Blue Milk or Green Milk, both of which are non-dairy frozen blends with very distinct flavors. Sip on these refreshing concoctions and feel like a true space traveler. Most of us love the Blue Milk best, but Tad only wants the Green! (Like a true frog, I suppose!)
Jack-Jack's Num Num Cookie — Neighborhood Bakery
Inspired by "The Incredibles," the Jack-Jack's Num Num Cookie at the Neighborhood Bakery is a treat that's super in every way. This oversized, warm chocolate chip cookie is soft on the inside and has a slightly crispy exterior. We've found that these are the freshest during the earlier part of the day. Pack a few sandwich/snack Ziplock baggies in your park bag. These cookies make for a great late-night snack when you're back in your hotel room. Pop them in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds, and OH MY! These are big enough to share (or not).
Hollywood Scoops Sundae — Hollywood Scoops
End your snacking adventure with an ice cream treat from Hollywood Scoops. These sundaes are a perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth. Whether you opt for the classic hot fudge sundae or splurge with the brownie sundae, your taste buds will definitely thank you.
Totchos — Woody's Lunchbox
Woody's Lunchbox, nestled in Toy Story Land, has a standout menu item — the "Totchos." The "Totchos," short for tater tot nachos, are a fun and tasty twist on nachos. Crispy tater tots serve as the base, topped with layers of warm queso, seasoned ground beef and chili, tomatoes, corn chips and green onion. Yeehaw!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Snacks
Disney's Animal Kingdom beckons you to embark on a wild adventure. Amidst these amazing experiences, this park also offers a plethora of delectable snacks. As a matter of fact, some of my frog favorite Disney snacks can be found here.
Pongu Lumpia — Pongu Pongu, Pandora – The World of Avatar
Begin your snacking escapade by venturing into the otherworldly land of Pandora and try out the Pongu Lumpia. This sweet spring roll is made with a crispy exterior and is filled with a luscious pineapple cream cheese filling. It sounds a bit unconventional, but trust us here — it just works!
Night Blossom — Pongu Pongu
Quench your thirst with the Night Blossom, a vibrant and refreshing frozen drink that's also available at Pongu Pongu. This layered beverage combines limeade, apple and desert pear flavors. The popping boba pearls take this snack to the next level.
Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork — Flame Tree Barbecue
For a hearty and super-filling snack, head over to Flame Tree Barbecue. The Baked Macaroni & Cheese Pulled Pork is a tantalizing creation made of cheesy macaroni generously topped with tender pulled pork, creamy coleslaw and a drizzle of tangy barbecue sauce. The result is a flavor explosion that we just can't get enough of. Flame Tree Barbecue is a quick-service restaurant. You can mobile order your snacks (or meal) and pick them up to go.
Churros — Nomad Lounge
While we love a good churro, the only ones we'd really recommend as a top snack at Disney World are the churros from the Nomad Lounge. These churros are made in-house and served warm with both vanilla crema and strawberry-guava dipping sauces. Each churro is fried to golden perfection, creating a balance between the crispy exterior and the soft, pillowy interior. These can also be made gluten-free. While we're on the topic of Nomad Lounge, it's worth saying that you really can't go wrong with any of the small plates or drink options here. Plus, the service is amazing. Be still, our snack-lovin' hearts!
Grilled Corn on the Cob — Harambe Fruit Market
This is not your typical theme park snack, but we are toadally OK with that. This grilled corn on the cob is a savory snack that is both unique and just downright tasty. The corn on the cob is made to order and can be grilled with African spices or without. We always get it with the spices because it's just so flavorful. If you like curry flavors, then be sure to give this one a try.
Mr. Kamal's Seasoned Fries — Mr. Kamal's Snack Stand
We love these seasoned fries, but what makes these really special is the dipping sauces that come with the fries. These sauces tend to rotate throughout the year, so we're never 100 percent sure which sauce will be available during our trip. But we can say that we've loved them all. Currently, Mr. Kamal's fries are served with spicy mayo. In the past, we've enjoyed the Curried Honey Mustard and Korean Chili Ketchup sauces when available.
I don't know about you, but this post made me so hungry! Disney World truly is a culinary adventure. The snacks mentioned here are only the tip of the iceberg in regard to the best snacks at Disney World. There are just so many! Have you tried any of the ones we mentioned?
