Inside This Post

The truth is, it's never a bad time to take a trip to Disneyland. Each season has something unique and special to offer. Disneyland in spring is one of the most beautiful times to visit in the whole year. The pink blooming tabebuia trees in front of the castle and flowers all around the park are absolutely breathtaking. The weather is perfectly manageable with longer park hours coming back after the holidays. This year, all the normal fabulous springtime festivities come with the added bonus of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration. Plus, Bluey arrives March 22! Here are our top reasons to visit Disneyland in the spring.

FAQs

  • Is spring a good time to go to Disneyland? Yes! Spring offers mild weather, beautiful blooms and seasonal events.
  • What seasonal events happen in spring? Food & Wine Festival, Eggstravaganza, Disneyland After Dark events, Bluey's Disneyland debut and the Disneyland 70th!
  • Are spring crowds manageable? Weekdays in early March, May and the beginning of June tend to have the least amount of crowds. Spring breaks do vary per district. Spring Weather at Disneyland

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - spring pink tree at disneyland

Disneyland in spring brings lots of flowers and greenery, along with some of the most mild and manageable weather of the year. Across the board, Southern California has one of the best climates on the globe. It's usually warm and almost always dry. But the dry air makes the mornings and nights extra chilly. No matter what time of year it is, we always recommend bringing a thin jacket and layers. There's nothing quite like the brilliant California sunshine, but it can make a cool day feel hot while you're waiting for a ride or a churro. If you don't want to carry around a jacket all day, lockers are available for rent in both parks and the esplanade.

Surprise rain is not really a concern while in Southern California. It does, however, rain the most (out of the whole year) in the early spring/later winter months. So, check that weather app (and our Disneyland weather post)before hitting the parks to make sure you don't get caught with wet flippers. In March, you'll see an average high of 67 degrees Fahrenheit and lows in the 50s. April stays about the same with an average high of 70 degrees and lows in the 50s. The 20-degree temperature drop after a long day can feel pretty drastic. More often than not, we find ourselves unable to resist buying that big, warm Mickey Mouse sweatshirt once the sun goes down, so plan ahead for the change in comfortability. The May average high is 71 degrees with a low of 57, but almost never with rain. And June brings hotter weather with an average high of 76 and low of 61 degrees. You can read more about the weather per month and what to bring with you in our month-by-month guide to Disneyland weather.

Crowds can get pretty heavy during the springtime thanks to school breaks during March and April. But knowing exactly when to go in the spring can land you with much fewer crowds than during busy seasons such as summertime and the holidays. Check out our Disneyland Spring break tips if you're planning a trip during these months. Weekdays in May and the beginning of June tend to have the least amount of crowds. Days that you can expect to be busy in 2026 are April 5 (Easter), May 10 (Mother's Day) and May 25 (Memorial Day).

Be sure to check our Crowd Calendar for daily crowd levels and recommended parks.

Keep an eye out for Grad Nights in May and June. Those days bring additional graduating seniors into the parks, making the parks more crowded than you'd might expect. After 9 p.m., they'll all be in Disney California Adventure for their private event. Disney California Adventure closes at 9 p.m. those nights.

Grad Nite 2026 dates:

  • May 8, 12, 13, 15, 17, 20, 21, 28, 29 and 31
  • June 3, 5, 7, 10 and 12

Spring Events at Disneyland

In 2026, springtime brings some of the most exciting events, both new and returning. From separately ticketed after-hours events to celebrations you can enjoy on your regular park day, you can always expect something really fun to be hoppening.

Food and Wine Festival

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - guest with cold brew

Disney California Adventure hosts a few festivals throughout the year. In March and April, you can enjoy all that Food & Wine Festival has to offer. It runs March 6 through April 27, 2026. Anyone with a Disney California Adventure ticket and valid reservation can partake in the festival. Purchase a Sip and Savor Pass to save time and money if you're planning on enjoying more than a few bites! Separate from food booths, catch culinary demonstrations, character experiences, musical entertainment, crafts and more. Plus, "Soarin' Over California" is back for a limited time through July 1, 2026.

Disneyland After Dark: 70 Years of Favorites

There a new Disneyland After Dark event related to the 70th anniversary. This separately ticketed nighttime event takes place March 3 and 5, 2026. Disneyland Park closes at 8 p.m. to daytime guests. Expect a throwback night to Disneyland experiences (revisit Videopolis from the 80s and swing dancing) and characters.

Bluey Makes Her Disneyland Debut

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Bluey at theater

If you have small children you won't want to miss the hopportunity to play and dance with Bluey and her sister Bingo at Bluey's Best Day Ever! As of March 22, you can find the sisters at the Fantasyland Theatre for unfrogettable character greetings, dance parties and even a fun round of Keepy Uppy!

Disney Channel Nite

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Disney Channel Night

Disney Channel Nite returns for April 12, 14 and 16, 2026. Celebrate your favorite Disney Channel shows, with entertainment related to “High School Musical,” “Phineas and Ferb,” “Camp Rock,” “Descendants” and more. Disneyland closes at 8 p.m. those nights.

Savannah Bananas at Disneyland

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Savannah Bananas

On March 26, 2026, the Savannah Bananas and rivals, the Indianapolis Clowns, will be at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. This day is appealing because there is a cavalcade on the Disneyland parade route and a high-energy performance in front of the castle. At Disney California Adventure, they'll perform in the World of Color viewing area. Look for special foods and meet and greet hopportunities.

Dapper Day

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Dapper Day

Dapper Day on April 19, 2026, is one of the most popular, and certainly the most fashionable, "unofficial” days at Disneyland, and in our froggy opinion, one of the most exciting Disneyland events in April. Guests get dressed up in their Sunday best to pay homage to the attendees when Disneyland first opened in 1955. On Disneyland Dapper Day, many guests wear vintage clothes from the 1950s or other eras. Over 10,000 guests in fancy frocks, white gloves, suits, ties and fedoras fill the park, magically transporting all guests back to another time when Walt Disney himself was still dreaming of Disneyland’s future.

Eggstravaganza

On select days around Easter (March 3 to April 6, 2026), join in the fun with an egg hunt! Eggs themed for fan-favorite characters are hidden around the resort for tadpoles and frogs of all ages to find and mark off on their search sheets. Once all the eggs have been found, you'll collect a prize. Each map has a fee, and there are different maps for each area.

Star Wars Fun

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Season of the Force, Hyperspace Mountain

May is the best times to be a "Star Wars" fan. You know, "May the Fourth" being an unofficial Star Wars Day and all. The season brings ride overlays such as Hyperspace Mountain as of April 28. A major change debuts at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, introducing new adventures and characters — The Mandalorian and Grogu. Plus, it also brings Disneyland After Dark parties for Star Wars Nite in late April and early May.

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Projections show

It's a great time to watch a projection shown in Galaxy's Edge, and maybe even see rare Star wars characters!

Star Wars Nite

For four select nights in April and May, Disneyland Park becomes a galaxy far, far away, providing out-of-this-world experiences, such as encounters with Luke and Leia, Darth Maul and Emperor Palatine, Jawas, the First Order and all the droids you are looking for! Guests can also enjoy themed snacks, merch and interactive activities, including a lightsaber instructional demonstration. You can dress as your favorite "Star Wars" character, meet rare characters and get your photo taken in front of themed backdrops. You'll be surrounded by like-minded super fans, see characters or troops in action and enjoy a special battle between the Light and Dark sides. Disneyland Park closes at 8 p.m. on party nights.

Disneyland 70th Anniversary

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Disneyland 70th, Sleeping Beauty Castle and characters

The Disneyland 70th Anniversary runs through Aug. 9, 2026. A Disneyland birthday is always fun to celebrate, but seven decades of magic is something really special. That's why Disneyland has some really special celebrations! You'll want at least three days to experience Paint the Night Parade, Wondrous Journeys projection/fireworks show and World of Color Happiness! You can expect special entertainment, colorful decor, character outfits, food, drinks, merchandise, a projection show on the façade of "it's a small world" and a special "Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy!" cavalcade. And the best part is it all comes with your regular park admission.

Spring Flowers

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Disneyland flowers

As we mentioned before, the foliage at Disneyland in spring is truly magnificent. Whether you're going to a Disney event in April or planning a trip for May, there is no shortage of beauty. The pink tabebuia trees (which reside around the Partners Statue at the very end of Main Street U.S.A.) are one-of-a-kind but don't bloom for very long. Catch the pink trumpets in full bloom at the end of March and in April for their most radiant beauty.

Our Favorite Reasons to Visit Disneyland in the Spring - Minnie Mouse flowers for Women's History month

Don't froget that March is Women's History month. In celebration, Minnie Mouse replaces Mickey at the front of the park each March in flower form.

We love to take advantage of the spring weather and enjoy the green landscape over in Toontown. It's the perfect place for a perfect picnic.
