Overview of Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort
Built in the 1990s, Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort is a deluxe resort inspired by the Pacific Northwest. The architecture pays homage to National Park Lodges with rustic wood and greenery. You'll feel transported to another world as you explore the trails or relax in a rocking chair overlooking the babbling creek. The grand lobby makes a bold statement while also remaining cozy with a fireplace and sitting options, plus gigantic totem poles. During the holidays, it is home to the larger-than-life Christmas tree and other holiday decor. Not just known for its rustic elegance, Wilderness Lodge is conveniently close to Magic Kingdom — select rooms even provide a view of some of the Magic Kingdom fireworks!
Wilderness Lodge Rooms
Disney's Wilderness Lodge rooms continue the woodland theming with rustic touches. Most rooms offer two queen beds, sleeping up to four adults and one child under 3 years old in a crib. The bathroom features double sinks in a separate area to easily get everyone ready in the morning. Amenities include a TV, mini-fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. All rooms come with a private balcony — choose from either a resort view or a water view.
Transportation at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort
Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort is conveniently located close to Magic Kingdom. To get from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom, you can take either a boat or a bus. If wanting to explore other resorts, the blue boat route also travels between Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
For all other parks and Disney Springs, complimentary bus service is available. To find the bus stop, head out the lobby and turn left. Keep in mind the buses may share with the Contemporary or Fort Wilderness.
Amenities, Recreation and Shopping at Wilderness Lodge
Wilderness Lodge offers two pools for resort guests to enjoy. Located behind the lobby is Copper Creek Springs Pool, featuring a 67-foot slide, play area and hot tubs. It's one of our favorite pools at Disney World! The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool offers a zero-entry pool and hot tub. Both pools provide complimentary towels.
Other recreation offerings include bike rentals, fishing, resort activities, campfires, an arcade, fitness center, jogging trails and Movies Under the Stars. Located near the lobby, Wilderness Lodge Mercantile is available for all your shopping needs. Another perk of Wilderness Lodge is being able to watch the Electrical Water Pageant, a whimsical water parade that lights up the lagoon.
There are many benefits to staying on-site at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, including Early Theme Park Entry. Early Entry is offered for 30 minutes before park opening at every park, every day! As a deluxe resort guest, you also can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours for even more time in the park. You also receive early access to purchasing individual Lightning Lane selections through the Disney Genie+ service. Hotel guests can begin booking at 7 a.m., while general admission must wait until the park opens. Starting with 2025 stays, you can also visit either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park on the day of check-in.

What to Consider Before Staying at Wilderness Lodge
We love Disney's Wilderness Lodge and think it's an underrated deluxe resort. We highly recommend it for nature lovers, those wanting to utilize various dining and amenities and those wanting a retreat while still being close to the magic. Speaking of magic, the close location of Magic Kingdom is a huge perk in our book, even though it is not as close as the other monorail resorts. We highly recommend staying (or at least visiting) during the holidays to see the incredible tree in the lobby.
