Let's head to the movies! Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is a value resort located at Walt Disney World. With larger-than-life theming based on Disney classics such as "Toy Story," "Fantasia," and "101 Dalmatians," the resort offers fun for all ages. Movies might be our favorite of the All-Stars as it really captures that Disney essence — and on a budget! Here's everything to know about Disney's All-Star Movies Resort.

Overview of Disney's All-Star Movies Resort

All-Star Movies Resort was built in the 1990s and remains a classic Walt Disney World Resort hotel. It is one of five value resorts on property. We see All-Star Movies as the sweet spot for our family — there is the cool Mighty Ducks section for Tad, the adorable 101 Dalmatians area for Lily and the classic Fantasia and Love Bug buildings for my hubby and me. Not to mention, the Toy Story section of this resort makes you feel as though you are stepping straight into Andy’s room as you pose for pictures with Bo Peep, Buzz, Woody and the gang.

At the entrance, Cinema Hall houses the lobby, food court, gift shop and arcade, with bus transportation just outside. In the center of the resort, you'll find Fantasia Pool. There are five themed sections for the rooms.

To the left, you'll find Toy Story, where you're shrunken down to the size of a toy as you enter Andy's room and see our favorite toys such as Woody, Buzz and Bo Peep. Around the pool, you'll find the Fantasia section with the large Sorcerer's Hat and walking broomsticks.

All-Star Movies Resort — Love Bug area

Just behind the Fantasia rooms is the Love Bug section, complete with a winner's circle for the classic Herbie race car. On the right side of the resort, you'll find the adorable 101 Dalmatians-themed area and the Mighty Ducks section for the sports fan.

Preferred rooms in Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians and Fantasia are the closest to the pool and Cinema Hall.

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort Rooms

All-Star Movies Resort — Standard room

Rooms at All-Star Movies Resort were updated a few years ago. Standard rooms offer either one king bed or one queen bed and a queen-sized table bed. To maximize space, the second bed is a pull-down Murphy bed unit that doubles as a table when folded up. The bathroom has a sliding door to a sink and changing area, and then another sliding door to the shower and toilet. Rooms come with a TV, mini-fridge, coffee maker, safe, telephone, hairdryer and iron and ironing board.

Preferred rooms are the same as standard, but are located closest to the main pool, lobby, food court and bus transportation. Both rooms sleep four adults comfortably.

Transportation at All-Star Movies Resort

All-Star Movies Resort — Bus stop

The only complimentary transportation available for All-Star Movies Resort is buses. Disney buses are available for all four theme parks, Disney Springs and the water parks (with a transfer at Disney Springs). The bus stop is located at the entrance of the resort, to the right of the lobby. Keep in mind that, at times, the resort shares transportation with All-Star Sports and All-Star Music, and Movies is typically dropped off last.

The All-Stars are located closest to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Amenities, Recreation and Shopping at All-Star Movies Resort

The main pool is the Fantasia Pool in the center of the resort. You can't miss the Sorcerer Mickey statue splashing above! Tadpoles will love the kiddie pool and splash area. There is also the Duck Pond Pool, a smaller pool located closer to the Mighty Ducks and 101 Dalmatians areas.

All-Star Movies Resort — Playground

Other recreation options include a playground, arcade and jogging trail. Be sure to enjoy a variety of resort activities such as Movies Under the Stars, crafts, scavenger hunt, arcade tournament, trivia, campfire and more. Get some shopping done at Donald's Double Feature, located off of the lobby near the bus stop.

Dining at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort

All-Star Movies Resort — World Premier Food Court

The main dining option at All-Star Movies is the World Premier Food Court. Here you'll find stations with American classics such as burgers, sandwiches, pizza, pasta and more. There are pre-prepared grab 'n' go options as well as delicious desserts. Depending on the year, you may also be able to find themed beverage sippers! The food court is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, typically from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. They also offer mobile ordering!

You'll find the Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar just outside, right next to the Fantasia pool. The pool bar offers sandwiches, snacks and a variety of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages to enjoy by the pool. Silver Screen Spirits is typically open from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

What to Consider Before Staying at All-Star Movies Resort

All-Star Movies Resort — Fantasia area

We think All-Star Movies Resort is a great way to stay on-site with that Disney magic and theming while also staying on budget. It's especially ideal for those who will be spending most of their time in the parks and don't need as many amenities as some of the moderate and deluxe resorts offer.

Keep in mind that the three All-Stars share one main security entrance and All-Star Movies is at the back of the complex. At times, the All-Star Resorts may share buses, so you'll want to keep transportation time in mind. This is especially important, considering Magic Kingdom is the furthest park from the resort. If you're standing on the bus at the end of the night, just make sure you're wearing comfy shoes!

Another thing to consider is that this resort plays host to several yearly events. It's very common for higher schoolers to stay here on their senior trip, as well as sports and cheerleading teams when competing in nationals. These events usually take place in the spring, which means rooms this time of year may get booked up quickly. And speaking of booking hotel rooms, did you know that Undercover Tourist offers an easy way to book your entire vacation at a discount? Plan your perfect Disney World vacation package, which bundles a hotel stay, theme park tickets and an optional dining plan.

Overall, we think All-Star Movies Resort is a great option for families or groups who want to stay on-site with the Disney experience but also want to save money for other park adventures.

Hi Kerry!

Yes, theme park parking is included when staying at a Walt Disney World hotel. We think the pull-down Murphy beds in the All-Star hotels are comfy! In our experience, our tadpoles are usually the ones to sleep in them, and we haven't heard any complaints from them.

Hi Trina!

We currently do not offer dining plans, but if you would like to upgrade, we'd suggest speaking directly with Disney Guest Relations.
