As frogs, we feel especially close to Kermit and the rest of "The Muppets!" A staple in many of our lives since childhood, "The Muppets" are one group that people can't seem to get enough of — and that includes their presence at Disney World! We've long been asked, "Where to find Muppets at Disney World?" and in this blog, we're answering that question. Without further ado, it's time to play the music! It's time to light the lights! It's time to meet "The Muppets" in this Undercover Tourist blog tonight! (That's gonna be stuck in your head all day now, isn't it?)

How Did "The Muppets" Land at Disney World?

But first — how did the Walt Disney Company land the rights to "The Muppets?" For any of my fellow Muppet historians out there (muppetorian?), you likely know that "The Muppets" have been around for decades. Jim Henson, the creator of "The Muppets," introduced some of the famed characters, including Rowlf the Dog and Kermit the Frog, to the public back in the 1950s and 1960s. However, Kermit wasn't really the frog we know and love today.
After worldwide commercial success stemming from "The Muppet Show," which aired between 1976-1981 (and wanting to work on other projects), Jim Henson began negotiations with the Walt Disney Company. Before his passing in 1990, he even worked on Muppet*Vision 3D (the final project he ever worked on). I'd like to say the rest was history, but despite there being a small Muppet presence in the parks during the 1990s, it wasn't until 2004 that Disney finally landed the rights to this eclectic crew of characters. If you'd like to know more about the history of "The Muppets," check out "Jim Henson Idea Man" on Disney+.
Now with that history out of the way, where CAN you find the Muppets at Disney World?
Where to Find "The Muppets" at Disney World
Unfortunately, the presence of "The Muppets" has dwindled over the years. Before 2020, guests visiting Magic Kingdom could catch a glimpse of "The Muppets" in Liberty Square. The show — Great Moments in American History — was a play on the title Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln over at Disneyland. The live show featured Kermit the Frog, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and, of course, everyone's favorite patriotic bird, Sam the Eagle.
During the show, the characters (dressed in their colonial best) reenacted famed moments from American history, such as the ride of Paul Revere and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It was short-lived, debuting in 2016 and officially retiring in 2020. Now, sadly, there is no presence of "The Muppets" at Magic Kingdom. However, there are two parks where their presence is still seen and felt: EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

Festivals
Like Magic Kingdom, "The Muppets" used to have a much bigger presence at EPCOT. For example, the Muppet Mobile Lab! This was a mobile lab featuring Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, which was sadly retired in 2019. However, not entirely.

In 2024 and 2025, at the International Food & Wine Festival, the Odyssey Pavilion transformed into the Brew-Wing Lab with who else but Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker! The section featured some interesting foods (pickle shake, anyone?) and decorations of the Muppet Labs! Will this setup return for 2026? We hope so!
Fortunately, guests had a few more chances to catch their favorite Muppets at the International Flower & Garden Festival. This year, the festival usually spans from the beginning of March to early June, and features gorgeous, heavily detailed topiaries of popular characters — including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy! In years past, this topiary has been featured in between the Morocco and France pavilions, as well as between Germany and the United Kingdom. For 2026, you can find the Kermit and Miss Piggy topiary near the Canada Pavilion.
The topiary features a smiling Kermit on a bike and Miss Piggy sitting on luggage, being as fabulous as ever. The froggy-piggy duo has been a staple at the Flower & Garden Festival, and we expect it to continue into 2027 and beyond.
Dining with "The Muppets" at EPCOT
Head over to the America pavilion and grab a table at the Regal Eagle Smokehouse. But why, you might be asking? Well, it's themed around Sam the Eagle!
The theming here is super understated, with some nods to "The Muppets" here and there. The main star is the menu, which features burgers, pork ribs and other mouthwatering barbecue. I think Sam the Eagle would want it this way.
Spaceship Earth

No, you won't find Kermit and the gang inside Spaceship Earth. Though, can you imagine Fozzie Bear narrating it instead of Dame Judi Dench? Instead, look at the exterior of Spaceship Earth at the end of the night during the International Festival of the Arts.
When the sun sets, Spaceship Earth comes to life with dazzling light displays — one of which is themed to the Rainbow Connection. The giant ball lights up in rainbow colors, while Kermit sings his hit tune.
Finding "The Muppets" at Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios has the biggest Muppets presence throughout the parks. And, truthfully, it always has! After all, Hollywood Studios is themed around the movies, so "The Muppets" fit right in, though things are in the process of changing to make way for the all-new Monsters Inc. land. As of June 6, we said goodbye to Grand Avenue, including PizzeRizzo and Muppet*Vision 3D. But the Muppets will have a new home! In the meantime, be sure to check our Refurbishments post as new details emerge.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Despite Muppet*Vision 3D's closure, the good news is that they're not going anywhere! Well, except down the street to Sunset Boulevard. The former attraction Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is getting a retheme ... to "The Muppets!" Now opening May 26, 2026, the story centers around Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse, a big-time real estate owner who has just added G-Force Records to his collection. This legendary recording studio becomes the new home for the Muppets and the Electric Mayhem, and the perfect spot for them to make their music.
On the night of their biggest Hollywood concert yet, the band is busy inside the studio putting the finishing touches on their songs, with help from some very on-brand sound engineers … the penguins, of course. Meanwhile, Scooter is trying to keep everything on track and get the band to the concert on time.
With a little help from Muppet Labs and a speedy limousine, things quickly turn into a chaotic race through Hollywood. Guests will speed past iconic Los Angeles sights all while rocking out to Electric Mayhem’s music.
There are also some fun updates just outside the ride, too! The giant guitar is getting a colorful, psychedelic makeover and the piano at the base will feature a single gold key as a nod to Dr. Teeth.
Oh, and the playlist? The track list includes:
- "Song 2"
- "Born To Be Wild" featuring Camilla the Chicken
- “Love Rollercoaster” featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove
- “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” with Def Leppard
- “Walking on Sunshine” featuring Kelly Clarkson
You'll want to keep your eyes peeled throughout the queue, where you just might find a few celebrity cameos to include Awkwafina, Danny Trejo, Darren Criss, John Stamos, Neil Patrick Harris, Travis Barker, Yvette Nicole Brown, Wayne Brady and "Weird Al" Yankovic.
Can I Find "The Muppets" at the Disney Water Parks or Disney Springs?
No, you cannot find "The Muppets" at Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach or Disney Springs. However, you can find Muppet-themed merchandise at Disney Springs. The stores may vary, but we've found plushes, shirts and pins at World of Disney.
Can I Find "The Muppets" at Any Disney World Resorts?
Unfortunately, no. But how cool would a Muppet-themed resort be? Hey Disney, can you make it happen?
Where to Find "The Muppets" at Disney World During the Holiday Season
If you're visiting Disney World during the holiday season, you're in for a treat! Hollywood Studios has a stage show hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy during Disney Jollywood Nights!

Available only during this after-hours holiday event, Disney Holidays in Hollywood features singers, dancers, a whole lot of jazz and Disney characters. This show is perfect for getting into the festive spirit! This special event can sell out, so be sure to snag them (and save some green) with Undercover Tourist once tickets go on sale!
runDisney Events Featuring "The Muppets"
Are you a runner who loves "The Muppets?" If so, get excited because these events are sometimes themed to the characters! In 2024, the runDisney Wine & Dine 5K was themed to the Swedish Chef! Not only do you get a medal at the end of the event with the character the race was themed to on it, but sometimes music from "The Muppets" play during the race.
The presence of "The Muppets" seems to fluctuate at the parks. However, there are still plenty of ways to get your Kermit, Sam the Eagle and Miss Piggy fix! We're super excited about the new changes coming to Hollywood Studios. We've already seen "The Muppets" take over Manhattan. We can only wonder how they'll take over one of Disney's most thrilling coasters!
How do you feel about these changes? Do you wish to see more Muppets in the parks? Let us know in the comments.
