What to Consider Before Staying at Universal Terra Luna Resort

Universal Terra Luna Resort - Lobby

Be aware that Universal Terra Luna Resort is not near the Universal CityWalk area (where the three existing parks are) and is next door to the ongoing construction at Epic Universe. (Don't worry! It's far enough away that you won't hear anything.) That means that by booking a standard (non-pool view) room, you can see the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, Mine-Cart Madness, Stardust Racers, Mead Hall, the Chronos tower and so much more RIGHT from your window!

However, even if you aren't in one of these rooms, driving onto the Epic Universe property as you make your way to the hotel is a mind-blowing experience in and of itself. Epic Universe is open as of May 22, 2025! Be sure to save on tickets to this thrilling new theme park through Undercover Tourist!

If you love Universal Aventura Hotel, the vibes are very similar here, just with a planetary twist. Plus, who wouldn't want to stay at a brand-new hotel, especially one right next door to Orlando's first new theme park in over 25 years?!

Hi Andre!

Hi Mike!

There are tons of restaurants along I-Drive, so you definitely won't run out of options! A good majority are popular chain restaurants, such as Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse and many more, but you can also find some local favorites, such as Cafe Tu Tu Tango — and closer to SeaWorld (still along International Drive), there's Twenty Pho Hour and Thai Thani. As far as getting around, we would recommend renting a car if you'll be around for the full 14 days or using ride-sharing apps like Uber or Lyft.

Another potential option is the I-Ride Trolley, which goes along International Drive. However, it does not have a stop near Terra Luna Resort, so it would only be truly useful if you wish to travel to multiple spots along I-Drive (for instance, if you plan a trip to one of the outlet malls and then want to go to ICON Park afterwards). And of course, we also recommend taking free Universal transportation to get to the Universal CityWalk area, where there are several dining options. Hope this helps!

I'm curious what the substantial differences (other than theming) are between Stella Nova and Terra Luna. What does Terra Luna have that Stella Nova doesn't?

FrogBlog Says...

Hi Amy!

Other than theming, the two sister hotels are pretty similar in terms of amenities and room types. Stella Nova is a smidge closer to the theme park and has an official walking path, but once open, Terra Luna will offer complimentary bus service to Epic Universe (and we expect it to be a short ride, as it's still not far away). Menus are slightly different — we enjoyed the drink selection (and the overall dining area layout) more at Terra Luna, but those are more personal preferences!

How far of a walk is Terra Luna to Epic since it shows there is transportation. If they offer it it’s not so close as I would think. Or is it far enough that someone who can’t walk as well would need it.

Hi Raquel!

Terra Luna is located next to its sister hotel, Stella Nova Resort, which does have a walking path to Epic Universe. However, there is not a connecting pathway between the hotels, so Terra Luna does not have an official walking path. We would recommend Universal's transportation.

How long would it take a fairly fit person to walk to city walk and international drive from the hotel?

FrogBlog Says...

Hi Paul!

Just to confirm, you would like to know the walking distance from the new Universal Terra Luna Resort to 1) CityWalk and 2) International Drive. Unless you enjoy walking long distances, we would not recommend. It's about 4 miles from CityWalk to Terra Luna (while it would depend on your pace, Google Maps estimates it to be a 90-minute walk). For International Drive, it really depends where on I-Drive you'd like to go since it runs north/south. The southern part of I-Drive (by The Pointe) is about 1.4 miles and ICON Park is about 1.8 miles from Terra Luna Resort (Google Maps estimates a 30-40 minute walk for those two).
