You’re headed to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Popular rides such as Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will surely work up an appetite! So, where should you go for a snack or a tasty meal when that happens? Here’s your wild guide to Animal Kingdom quick-service restaurants when you want an enjoyable meal (but minimal wait). Ready to hop along? Grab your safari hat and let's go!

Quick Service Animal Kingdom

What Are Disney Quick-Service Restaurants?

Guide to Pandora - Satu'li Canteen

Before we jump into what Animal Kingdom offers, let's first answer what a quick-service restaurant is.

Quick-service restaurants at Disney are casual dining options. Instead of sitting down and being served, you'll order your meal at the counter and bring it back to your table. Quick-service locations at Animal Kingdom are cheaper than sit-down restaurants such as Tusker House and Tiffins Restaurant. They're also way faster, too!

Plus, quick-service restaurants usually offer mobile ordering. This streamlines the process of ordering food because you can do so from your smartphone. You can even customize your pickup time. Our froggy family loves to schedule a pickup window from Satu'li Canteen so that we can get our bao buns immediately following Avatar Flight of Passage. Always check your My Disney Experience to confirm, as locations offering mobile order are subject to change. Also, check out the Frog Family How-To: Disney World Mobile Ordering to prepare you for your trip!

With this out of the way, here's our helpful guide to all the Animal Kingdom quick-service locations you can enjoy on your next visit. Who's hungry?

Get to Know All the Animal Kingdom Quick-Service Restaurants

Currently, Animal Kingdom has six quick-service restaurants. Restaurantosaurus will eventually close as Animal Kingdom furthers construction on Tropical Americas, which is coming in 2027!

Keep in mind that all of these prices were accurate at the time of publication.

Harambe Market

No visit to the African section of Animal Kingdom is complete without a visit to Harambe Market! This quick-service restaurant offers outdoor seating that's themed to a busy marketplace near an old colonial train depot.

Savor bold African flavors such as the chicken rice bowl, which features chermoula-marinated Chicken and a Kachumbari tomato salad, or the house-made beef and lamb kifta pita. Everything on the menu costs $15.99 or less, with most bowls between $12.99 and $15.99.

Harambe Market also has a plant-based menu featuring an Impossible kofta pita and a kids' menu. Lily loves the chicken strips and a side of jollof rice – rice cooked in a tomato-based sauce and topped with seasonings.

We recommend getting here early for lunch, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., as it usually closes around 3:15 p.m. This way, you can savor the environment in addition to the delicious food! It's one of our froggy family favorites!

Pizzafari

Cheap Food at Disney World - Pizzafari

Pizza lovers can get their fix at Pizzafari, located in Discovery Island. Only available for lunch and early dinner (closes around 4:30 p.m.), the restaurant serves classic cheese and pepperoni pizzas, pasta and salads. Leap raves about the creamy pesto chicken pasta — and I'd have to agree!

Servings here are suitable for one person, but our family of four can (usually) eat for $50 or less. For example, a Caesar salad costs $9.99, and the creamy pesto chicken pasta and chicken parmesan with marinara pasta — the two most expensive items on the menu — only cost $13.29. The kids' menu is much cheaper, with cheese pizza and pasta with turkey marinara sauce costing less than $8.

Pizzafari also has a tasty drink menu suitable for adult frogs who want a midday treat. The Blue Lagoon Lemonade is my go-to for a refreshing drink!

Flame Tree Barbecue

This list of Animal Kingdom quick-service restaurants is in no particular order, but maybe it should be because Leap and I would definitely put Flame Tree Barbecue at the top! Also located in Discovery Island, this quick-service spot will delight all BBQ fans.

Open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Flame Tree Barbeque offers a delightful spread of BBQ-based entrees, including a ribs and chicken combo, smokehouse chicken salad, smoked pulled pork sandwich and baked macaroni and cheese with pulled pork (pictured below). The plant-based option — the Impossible burnt ends — is so good, even for meat lovers. Leap accidentally ordered them once and had no idea they weren’t real meat until he was done.

What Not-to-Miss at Animal Kingdom - Baked Mac 'n' Cheese with Pulled Pork from Flame Tree Barbecue

The two of us will usually split the ribs, chicken and pulled pork sampler for $18.99, while Tad and Lily enjoy the baked chicken drumsticks or hot dogs. Seating is outdoors, and you’re usually able to find a table pretty quickly.

Flame Tree Barbecue has an allergy-friendly and gluten-free menu, so ask about your options before ordering. This is the most expensive of all the quick-service locations at Animal Kingdom. However, the price evens out if you split a platter like we do.

Restaurantosaurus

Animal Kingdom Hidden Gems - Restaurantosaurus

Not only should you catch that dino, but you should also plan lunch or dinner at Restaurantosaurus before it closes. Located in DinoLand U.S.A., this adorably themed restaurant is perfect for dino lovers of all ages.

Dine as the paleontology students do and enjoy a diverse menu that includes foot-long hot dogs, chicken strips, cobb salads, cheeseburgers and fried chicken sandwiches. If I may make a suggestion, order the black garlic, truffle and parmesan fries to go along with your entree! These fries are topped with parmesan and a black garlic-truffle aioli that is out of this world! Soooo good!

Menu items are relatively cheaper here, with entrees ranging between $9.99 and $14.99 and sides ranging from $1.99 to $6.99. If your tadpole has a sweet tooth like our Lily, order them the S’moresosaurus Shake — a vanilla milkshake with chocolate drizzle, topped with graham cracker crumbs, chocolate sprinkles and a chocolate-dipped s'more.

We’ll miss dining at Restaurantosaurus, not just for the themed decor but also for the air-conditioned indoor seating. It’s always nice to get a break from the hot Florida sun! That being said, this restaurant gets extremely crowded during peak lunch periods. We recommend eating outside of peak times for your best chance at snagging a seat.

Check back on this blog for updates on this restaurant's official closing date. Who else will miss it? We definitely will — but we are also looking forward to Tropical Americas, which will have a large hacienda housing one of the largest quick-service restaurants in Disney World!

Satu’li Canteen

Satu’li Canteen is the signature quick-service location in Pandora - The World of Avatar! And just like the Valley of Mo’ara and Na’vi River Journey, it’s something that must be experienced on your next visit!

Unlike most other quick-service locations in Animal Kingdom, Satu'li Canteen is open for breakfast. Lily loves the cinnamon French toast (which comes with blueberry cream cheese), while Tad keeps it simple with the slow-roasted pork shoulder potato hash.

For lunch and dinner, the cheeseburger steamed pods (bao buns) are a must-do for our entire family. They're basically mini cheeseburgers stuffed inside some dough … and they are WONDERFUL!

However, for that true Pandora-style treat, go with the Ocean Moon Bowl. It features blue noodles, tuna, pickled daikon, cucumbers, red cabbage, watermelon radish and a ton of other flavors to make a unique, out-of-this-world meal. At $17.99, this is the most expensive item on the lunch and dinner menu.

They also have an extensive allergy-friendly menu to accommodate local Na'vi and visiting frogs alike.

Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes

Last but not least is Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes. While there is the sit-down option at Yak & Yeti, this quick-service location in the Asia section of the park offers a variety of American and Asian staples.

For breakfast, indulge in a refreshing fruit salad or a sausage and egg English muffin. Both Tad and Lily are partial to the hash brown bites. Ah, face it — our entire froggy family is! For lunch and dinner, the veggie burger, rib tips and sweet-and-sour tempura shrimp are the ultimate must-dos. So are the pork egg rolls! Entree prices range between $9.99 and $18.99.

Seating is outdoors. However, this location is pretty busy. As such, we'll usually just grab our food to go and enjoy it as we walk toward our next attraction.

Bonus Location: Creature Comforts in Discovery Island

Though not a quick-service restaurant, this is where you’ll find the Starbucks at Animal Kingdom. Like other Starbucks locations throughout the parks, they offer cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches, wraps and assorted pastries.

There are plenty of mornings when we stop in for a coffee, especially if we decide to rope drop or take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry.

Out of all the Disney theme parks, Animal Kingdom comes in second for having the most quick-service locations. And, we have to say — all of them are pretty good, too. Whether you're looking for a snack or a meal to share that won’t break the bank, these spots are worth checking out!
