At 200 feet, Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain® is the highest “mountain” in Walt Disney World® Resort. Your expedition begins inside a Tibetan-style stone structure at the base of Mt. Everest, where you'll pass the booking office of Himalayan Escapes – Tours and Expeditions. The queue winds through an old tea warehouse that has been converted into a museum showcasing Nepalese culture, history of the Himalayas and the mystery of the Yeti. From there, you’ll board one of the old and beaten-down Anandapur Rail Service cars headed for Mt. Everest.
Your train will take you on a ride through the safe, rolling hills, before taking you inside the dangerous mountain. Get ready and hold on tight, because soon enough you'll encounter a broken track that leads to nowhere-- where will the train go next? Backwards might be your only way to safety. Beware of the snarling beast that watches over his domain…the Yeti!
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain® is located in Asia® Land at Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. The duration of this roller coaster is 3 ½ minutes. Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain® is considered a thrill ride and reaches speeds up to 50 mph; we would categorize it somewhere between Big Thunder Mountain Railroad® Attraction and Rock 'n Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith. Each ride vehicle seats two guests and has a lap bar restraint. Guests must transfer from their wheelchair, motorized scooter or ECV to board the ride vehicle. Due to the nature of this attraction, service animals are not allowed.
