Our Disney Tickets Are 100% RFID and FastPass+ Enabled

by Leap on June 1, 2021
412

A Note from Leap: After reopening, Disney World has retired FastPass+. A new offering, called Genie+, has debuted! Hop over to our full post for more information! And guess what? Undercover Tourist offers Disney World tickets WITH Genie+!

All of our Disney World tickets are FastPass+ enabled.

This means you can link your tickets via the My Disney Experience app and website, which allows you to pre-book reservations to attractions and entertainment. Whether you are a resort guest or a park guest, you are allowed to advance book three FastPass+ attraction or entertainment selections per day from any one park.

Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can make FastPass+ reservations up to 60 days in advance of check-in for their entire length of stay, while guests staying off-site can make reservations up to 30 days in advance of each day of their theme park visitWe recommend that you buy your Disney tickets far enough in advance that you can book your FastPass+ selections 60 or 30 days out. Once your order has been processed, you will get a confirmation email with your ticket number to link your tickets in My Disney Experience. (Note that currently, FastPass services are suspended.)

Disney World RFID tickets

RFID Tickets & Obtaining MagicBands

MagicBands offer the same touch-to-enter functionality as Disney World RFID-enabled tickets in the parks, but added convenience since you wear the band versus having to pull it out of a pocket, wallet or backpack. MagicBands are available for purchase in the parks, at Disney Springs and online. Disney World Resort hotel guests receive discounted MagicBands. Guests have the option of purchasing MagicBands and linking them to a My Disney Experience profile later, which allows them to be purchased as gifts or for future trips. Disney World RFID-enabled tickets offer the same touch-to-enter functionality at MagicBands. Disney World also introduced a brand-new way to enter the parks with your smartphone or watch, called Disney MagicMobile.

All Undercover Tourist tickets offer the same functionality as a ticket purchased directly from Disney.

You'll find more resources on FastPass+ and Disney World RFID tickets, including answers to common questions, on our Disney FastPass+ Planning page inside the Orlando Planning Timeline. As always, our shipping is free! So let's get that vacation started with Disney World FastPass+ enabled tickets!

I just received my WDW passes. Can I place them in a plastic card sleeve attached to a lanyard? Will the ticket need to be removed for scanning on the rides? Thank you.

Hi Erica,

You can put them in a plastic sleeve in a lanyard, just don't poke a hole in them. It's possible you would need to remove them at FastPass+ entrances, but it's worth testing out. Let us know what you find out!

I received my salute tickets early from Shades of Green and added them to MDE. I purchased the magic bands online and now I can't figure out how to link them. Is there a way to link the magic bands online or in the app ahead of time?

Hi Trinity,

Yes, you will need to login to your My Disney Experience account.

Using the website: Link your MagicBand by selecting My Profile under My Disney Experience, then selecting MagicBands & Cards. Select Link a MagicBand or Card. Then enter the ID number on the back of the MagicBand.

Using the app: Select My Profile under the main menu, then MagicBands & Cards. Select Link a MagicBand or Card and then enter the ID number on the back of the MagicBand.

Hope this helps!

We will be staying at the DoubleTree Suites Lake Buena Vista for our Disney stay. We purchased our Disney tickets through Undercover Tourist. Are we eligible for free Magic Bands and free transportation to and from the Orlando airport? Information we received about the resort implied we should be, but I would like to confirm. Thanks.

Hi Mike,

This is not a Disney World resort, although it's very close to Downtown Disney and does provide transportation to the parks. It may provide its own transportation from the airport, but you would need confirm directly with the hotel. Since it's not a Disney hotel, you would not receive MagicBands for free, but you could purchase them online before you leave from the Disney Store or in the parks.

HI! We are staying at a Disney resort hotel over night and we're going to Epcot on the first day and Magic Kingdom the second day AFTER we check out of the hotel. My question is are we still going to be able to use our magic bands the second day after we check out? I figured the tickets will still work but will we be able to charge food and such with our bands or will we have to use our cards? THANKS! :)

Is it possible to add one more day to the 3 day ticket that has already been purchased from you? Hi! So I purchased tickets from you - no issues there - and am staying at AK in May however on MDE it is only giving me 30 days to book FP+ and not 60 - my hotel is linked so do you have any idea why this is happening? I will be calling too but thought I would ask, thank you!

Hi Lizzie,

Your ability to book FastPasses 60 days is directly tied to staying at a Disney resort. If your hotel is linked in MDE, there should not be a problem booking 60 days out. I would call Disney immediately so that you can book.

Hi there,

This question has probaby been answered, but just to confirm -- I just linked my pass to My Disney Experience and it lists the card as 'active.' I will not be going to WDW until march and I am assuming this just means I can load my card with fastpass+ options and such and not that it will expire after 14 days, right?

Sorry if this is confusing/has already been answered!

Thank you so much!

Hi Gene,

Your MagicBands are reusable and you should not have to do anything with them to set them up provided you have not made them inactive since your last trip. You can view this in My Disney Experience. If you are not staying onsite, they cannot be used for purchases, but you can use them for touch-to-enter access to the park and on the rides with FastPasses.

Hi Evelin,

You can go ahead and link your tickets now in MDE and make your FastPass+ reservations 60 days out for your length of stay. I would do that as soon as it becomes available to you. Your MagicBands will be mailed or ready for you at check-in and should already be active in MDE.

I am assuming that we will have to change these tickets when we get there? That's my first question. Now, we are only planning on doing the MK, TL

FrogBlog Says...

Hi Claire,

Since you have been gone, Disney uses a new FastPass system, FastPass+, which allows you to book advance reservations to skip the lines to three attractions per day at any one park. All of our Disney tickets are FastPass+ enabled, which means you could purchase them from us and link them to your My Disney Experience account and make advance ride reservations.

I must be having an off day, because I am not sure what you mean by TL :), but, yes, you would need to exchange those tickets when you get to the park at Will Call. You could try scanning them with the My Disney Experience app and see if you can link them to your account and make advance FastPass+ reservations.

This is a bit confusing but here goes. I, my husband and two grand children will be visiting disney and we purchased tickets for all four of us. We will only be taking them for one day each and their parents four other adults will be taking them for the rest of the time. They purchased their own tickets. Is it possible for them to register the two child tickets under their my disney experience and when we take them for the day, can we set up a fast pass with our tickets and our grandchildren's tickets as well for the same time? The parents will not be with us the day we take the kids. Or do we have to register them on our disney experience? Then how will it work for the other days the parents take them?

Hi Sue,

You should be able to add each other in My Disney Experience so that you and your husband can manage the children's plan and yours together, and their parents can do the same. The tickets need to be registered and linked only under one account, but then you should be able to share that access. Once you are all connected under Friends and Family in My Disney Experience, you could then make FastPasses for any of the party members.

I'm looking into buying the 10 day park hopper passes that never expire, but my question is: If I use 3 days of the tickets during one visit, and use fastpass + for that visit, then come back later to use more of the days, will I be able to use fastpass + again on that visit? I'm wondering if all your fastpass reservations get used in one visit, or if you can break up your days and therefore get 10 separate instances you can use fastpass+.

Hi Dee,

For Disney World tickets, you would need to pick them up in Orlando as we do not ship to South Africa. Unfortunately, we do not offer tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in December. Your best bet is to book directly through Disney for those.

I know you've probably answered this same question a million times, but it's hard to sift through the blog to find my direct question. I am not staying onsite, but I would like to get an RFID bracelet. Have rules changed since the beginning of the year?

-When I purchase tickets, will I get an RFID bracelet sent to me?

-If not, when and where can i purchase them?

-Am I able to book FastPass tickets 30 days in advance even though I am not staying onsite?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jessie,

If you are staying onsite at a Disney World resort, your MagicBand will be shipped to you. If not, you can purchase them when you arrive at various WDW locations. If you are not staying onsite, you can book FastPass+ reservations up to 30 days in advance.

Hope this helps!

Hi Claire,

No sensitive, personal information is included on the chip in the band. If you are staying at a Disney resort and choose to link it for purchases, you will set a pin that will be required when you make purchases using the band.

Cheers!

Hi,

We purchased tickets from you and they are linked to our MDE account. We want to add an extra day to the tickets at guest services once we are on site and have begun using the tickets. Do I need to take everyone's magic bands with me to guest services to add the extra park day, or can they do that without them? Or do I need to bring the original tickets I received from you instead?

Thanks!

I just linked my tickets so that I could book my FP+ 60 days in advance tomorrow. I am staying on site, but MDE is saying I can only book 30 days in advance. Any idea why this would be happening?

Hi Julie,

You may need to link your reservation manually. On My Disney Experience, go to "My reservations and tickets" in the right drop down menu under My Disney Experience. Select "Link Resort Reservation" and follow the prompts. If you did not book your hotel directly through the Walt Disney World Resort and your MagicBands have not yet shipped, you also need to double check that the correct address is listed for you.

HI! I have linked my tickets through My Disney Experience and i have just added my fast passes on there as well. Is this all i need to do? Once i get into Disney, my tickets will have all this info on them when i get to one of the fast pass lines? I don't have the magic band or anything.

Planning off site visit in Feb. are the ticket prices quoted for 2014 or good for 2015? Also, we have used up magic bands from early spring visit could our purchase of tickets online be linked onto these bands? Or, would we have to stop at ticket window to do the actual link up?

Hi Mary,

Yes, Disney World tickets do not expire. Yes, your MagicBands should still be active, and once you add your new tickets in My Disney Experience, you should be good to go.

Best,
