You may know the script by heart: "When hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still — that's the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight!" And now, you can experience the chills and thrills of the iconic Disney Parks attraction at sea! Aboard the all-new Disney Treasure, you can experience grim-grinning seafaring ghosts in the first-ever Haunted Mansion Parlor. With nods to the classic ride, new and familiar happy haunts and a spirited menu, this new lounge is to die for. Kindly step all the way in, please, and make room for everyone — there's no turning back now.
Hop To
Welcome to the Haunted Mansion Parlor
Much like its theme parks' counterpart, the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure welcomes guests into a frightfully fun atmosphere — flickering candlelight, eerie decor and of course, some familiar haunts. The Haunted Mansion Parlor is located on deck three, forward from the Grand Hall and on the port (left) side next to the Skipper Society Lounge. (If you're familiar with the Disney Wish, it's in the space where Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge is located on its sister ship.)
You'll also find some Disney history nods, including a bust of Rolly Crump, one of the Disney Imagineers who worked on the Haunted Mansion attraction. Crump also had some concepts for a Museum of the Weird — some of which made their way into the Haunted Mansion, and some remained in the vault ... until now. Crump's ghost fish and Candle Man concepts have now materialized in the Haunted Mansion Parlor.
Experiences on the Haunted Mansion Parlor
While paying homage to the attraction's history, this first-class drawing parlor tells its own tale.
Keep your eyes peeled for a love story unfolding between a ghostly captain and his spectral bride-to-be. The couple met when the Captain received a distress transmission, and upon arriving, found only a mangled wreckage and a lone survivor — a woman floating in the debris with green eyes, brown hair and a golden key hanging around her neck (does she look familiar?). From then on, the two were inseparable and were engaged to be wed ... until they mysteriously disappeared. No one knows what, exactly, happened to them — but perhaps you can solve the mystery! The Captain was last seen heading to the parlor for a special meal prepared by his betrothed. All that remained of him when others came looking for him was his hat, floating in the aquarium tank.
In all, the Haunted Mansion Parlor experience lasts a full 90 minutes or so, complete with special lighting, ghostly appearances in the bar mirror and watching the gallery paintings "look alive" to tell the parlor's tale. Look up, and you'll see that the rooftop design mimics that of a coffin.
