Overview of the Disney Treasure Ship

This remarkable new 15-deck ship is being crafted with care at Meyer Werft in Germany and is gearing up to set sail on its maiden voyage on Dec. 21, 2024. Like its sister ships, the Disney Wish and the forthcoming Disney Destiny, it will run on clean and eco-friendly liquefied natural gas. You know we frogs love those green efforts!

Disney Treasure - Aladdin and Jasmine gold statue in Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure

The Disney Treasure's heart is designed to reflect "Walt Disney's thirst for adventure," and its overall theming will transport you to the world of "Aladdin." You'll be whisked away to a "whole new world" as soon as you step aboard. Next to the sweeping staircase, you'll find a statue featuring Aladdin and Jasmine soaring on a magic carpet. Venture further and you'll notice the breathtaking Grand Hall atrium, reminiscent of the kingdom of Agrabah.

And don't miss the frogtastic stern featuring none other than Captain Hook and Peter Pan. Make sure to get a good look when the ship is docked at port!

From the turquoise waters of the Caribbean to the sun-soaked shores of Florida, the Disney Treasure will claim Port Canaveral as its home port. The ship will set off on its first-ever journey, a seven-night trip in the Eastern Caribbean on Dec. 21, 2024. After that, it will continue with more seven-night trips to both the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral for its inaugural season from late December 2024 through May 2025. The itinerary highlights include stops at Cozumel, Mexico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Jamaica and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.

Bookings are now open (and yes, Undercover Tourist offers discount sailings on the Disney Treasure!)

Disney Treasure Accommodations

Stretching across 341.13 meters and weighing in at a whopping 140,000 gross tons, this sixth addition to the Disney Cruise fleet hosts 1,246 guest staterooms, ready to accommodate up to 4,000 passengers. The Disney Treasure is the second ship in Disney's Triton Class, with the Disney Destiny being the third Triton Class vessel scheduled to make her debut in 2025.

And did you hear the latest news? As of March 2024, the Disney Treasure is now afloat! The Treasure was recently moved from the building dock at Meyer Werft Shipyard to make way for construction on the Disney Destiny.

Let's take a sneak peek at the staterooms on Disney Treasure! These rooms strike a balance between modern style and that nostalgic Disney charm. As if you're stepping into the worlds of your favorite Disney stories, the rooms will feature nods to "Aladdin," "Pocahontas," "Up" and "Encanto." If you're looking for something even more elevated, Disney Cruise Line offers concierge staterooms and suites that are inspired by "The Lion King."

The well-designed staterooms and suites are among the industry's most spacious, purposefully designed to accommodate families of four or more.

Disney Treasure — View of verandah stateroom featuring a queen-size bed, Aladdin artwork over the bed, living room area and ocean view verandah.

Each stateroom is equipped with plenty of storage space, a cozy living area and a unique split bathroom design — one with a shower, bathtub, sink, and closet and another with a separate toilet and sink. The beds are raised to create space for under-bed storage, so you can keep your belongings neatly tucked away.

The standard amenities include plenty of charging ports, mirrored vanities, a smart HDTV, a refrigerator, an in-room safe and a hair dryer.

Royal Suites

On the Disney Treasure, you can stay in your choice of four royal suites. These special rooms are named after two of our favorite Disney feline companions — Bagheera Royal Suites and the Rajah Royal Suites.

Tomorrow Tower Suite

The suite is located in the ship's forward tunnel and has a massive two-story window that gives you a panoramic view of the ship's top deck and the wide-open sea. The Tomorrow Tower Suite is all about embracing the innovative spirit that inspired EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort. It's huge, with almost 2,000 square feet of space and can comfortably accommodate eight guests. You'll have more than everything you need, including spaces to eat, sleep and play. There's even a full kitchen and a private elevator!

Recreation and Entertainment Aboard the Disney Treasure Ship

On the Disney Treasure, a world of endless activities and recreation awaits — there's something for everyone in your crew.

Character Meet and Greets

While sailing the ocean blue, you'll have the opportunity to meet and hang out with your favorite Disney characters. Imagine getting to see real-life princesses, brave superheroes and all your classic Disney friends. Characters can be found in the deck entertainment shows, but also in the Grand Hall and at select photo spots throughout your trip.

Disney Treasure - Captain Minnie holding a brown leather and gold telescope

A familiar face takes the helm as captain — none other than Minnie Mouse! Donning an all-new outfit inspired by adventure, Minnie's iconic red and white polka dots still make an appearance on her scarf and hat.

Minnie also graces the face of the keel coin, a symbolic touch marking the ship's construction commencement during the keel laying ceremony. As maritime tradition dictates, a "lucky" coin found its place beneath the keel, paves the way for good fortune and safe passage for both the ship and its passengers.

Sailing Away Deck Party

The Sailing Away Deck Party will be an exciting kickoff to your unfrogettable voyage. As the ship sets sail, join fellow passengers on the upper decks for a celebration. Dance to upbeat music, watch as Disney characters make special appearances and soak in the electric atmosphere as you wave goodbye to the shore. The party's energy is infectious, setting the tone for the adventures ahead.

Be sure to listen for the Disney Treasure's distinctive horn. Unlike any other cruise line, Disney ships have a collection of distinct horn melodies that include familiar Disney tunes from "When You Wish Upon a Star" to the iconic "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)." We can't wait to hear what songs will be featured on the Disney Treasure cruise ship!

AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg

When aboard the Disney Treasure, you'll get to experience something really exciting — Disney Cruise Line's very own attraction at sea called AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg. You'll hop on two-person ride vehicles with powerful jets zipping you through 760 feet of twisty tubes. Along the way, you'll see breathtaking views of the ocean and the ship below. On the Disney Treasure, AquaMouse has a brand-new story where Mickey and Minnie Mouse go on a wacky adventure into an ancient temple to find a legendary treasure.

Sarabi

Sarabi is not just an ordinary theatre; it's a two-story hub that will be abuzz with daytime activities but will host evening events just for grown-up frogs. The theatre is named after the lioness matriarch Sarabi from "The Lion King," and it's designed to make you feel like you're in the wide-open savanna. It's going to be a hoppin' spot on the ship!

Walt Disney Theatre

The stage becomes alive with exciting Broadway-style performances starring your beloved characters and stories. A fresh production titled "Disney The Tale of Moana" will premiere on the Disney Treasure. It will bring to life Moana's thrilling adventures with a massive Te Kā puppet and a glowing manta ray will soar over the theatre as the spirit of Gramma Tala. Additionally, "Beauty and the Beast" and "Disney Seas the Adventure" will be shown as well.

Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party

As the sun sets, get ready for a mesmerizing spectacle as the sky lights up with fireworks. On the upper decks, there will be music and fireworks to make the Pirate's Rockin' Parlay Party an exciting and memorable event.

Experiences for Tadpoles, Tweens and Teens on the Disney Treasure

"it's a small world" nursery! — Ages 6 months to 3 years

"it's a small world" nursery! is an inviting space thoughtfully designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for your little ones. Inspired by the beloved Disney attraction, the nursery is designed with cheerful colors and whimsical décor. With a team of specially trained caregivers, your baby will be in good hands. Tadpoles will have the opportunity to engage in age-appropriate activities such as storytime, games and even naptime if all the fun tuckers them out.

 Disney's Oceaneer Club — Ages 3-10

Your kiddos will have a blast at the Oceaneer Club and Lab on the Disney Treasure. These spaces are designed to spark their creativity and let them get loose and have some fun. In the Oceaneer Club, they'll team up with Disney characters, complete crafts and play exciting games. Next door in the Oceaneer Lab, they'll have the opportunity to conduct cool experiments and learn in a hands-on way.

Walt Disney Imagineering Lab

Magical creativity takes the stage at the Disney Imagineering Lab. Youth counselors will show your tadpoles how to think like the Imagineers — the folks who create the Disney parks and attractions. Your kiddos can design their own roller coaster (and test it out) and engage with cool tech and projects. It's a place where imagination knows no bounds!

Mickey & Minnie Captain's Deck

This nautical playground is just for the youngest sailors onboard. Little ones can explore a sea of maritime-themed games and activities that engage both their bodies and minds. Plus, they'll have the chance to enjoy some quality playtime with none other than Mickey and Minnie!

Fairytale Hall

At Fairytale Hall, kids can rotate between a trio of activity rooms. In Rapunzel's Art Studio, they can unleash their creativity with a variety of art projects. Belle's Library offers a cozy space for reading and acting out stories. While over at Anna and Elsa's summer cabin, they can put their ice powers to the test with themed games.

Disney Treasure — children sitting at a table doing art & crafts. Rapunzel is visiting with the children.

Star Wars: Cargo Bay

Star Wars: Cargo Bay is an adventure where kids get to be creature handlers. They'll take care of interesting creatures from different parts of the galaxy, including porgs, Loth-cats, worrts and more. Plus, they'll play a big role in helping Rey and Chewbacca join the Resistance and use the Force to save the ship from danger. It's an out-of-this-world experience for young "Star Wars" fans.

Marvel Super Hero Academy

At the Marvel Super Hero Academy, kids get to be like the Avengers. They start by designing superhero suits, and then they play a virtual game to test their skills. Spider-Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp are there to help them learn the way!

Edge — Ages 11-14

For the tweens looking for a place to call their own, Edge on the Disney Treasure offers the perfect hangout. This dedicated space is designed with them in mind, providing a trendy and age-appropriate environment where they can connect, unwind and make memories. With a variety of engaging activities ranging from video games, arts and crafts and interactive group challenges, Edge is where tweens can be themselves, fostering independence and camaraderie in a safe atmosphere.

Vibe — Ages 14-17

At the Vibe, teens are in for an awesome hangout tailored just for them. This dedicated space is all about letting teens be themselves. Vibe offers a cool and age-appropriate environment to chill and connect. From video games and karaoke to movie nights and themed parties, the exciting variety of activities keeps the energy high and the fun flowing. With trained counselors leading the way, teens can make creative projects, interact with peers and hopfully make lasting friendships.

Experiences for Grown-Up Frogs on the Disney Treasure

On the Disney Treasure cruise ship, adults can indulge in exclusive adults-only dining experiences. Palo Steakhouse is an Italian specialty restaurant that offers a prix fixe brunch and dinner menu filled with delectable dishes. Enchanté is another elegant option, bringing the flavors of French cuisine to the table in a luxurious setting. At The Rose, you can unwind with expertly crafted pre- or post-dinner cocktails.

Periscope Pub

Disney Treasure — Periscope Pub

Periscope Pub is inspired by the 1954 movie "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," and the famous Disney ride at Walt Disney World that was open from 1971 to 1994. Inside, it'll seem like you're in a submarine from the 1800s with shiny metal details and a steampunk style. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great spot to hang out and catch the game. The menu will offer craft beers and small plates.

Skipper Society

A new campy lounge, Skipper Society will also make its debut on the Disney Treasure. This is the first time Disney has brought the famous Jungle Cruise attraction from the Disney Parks to a cruise. Instead of the backside of water, the place is decorated with earth tones and jungle-style furniture. Make sure to take a good look around. You'll spy a monkey-shaped chandelier, postcards and luggage tags from their adventures, all while enjoying special drinks and light snacks under a leafy canopy.

Haunted Mansion Parlor

For the first time ever, a Haunted Mansion-themed lounge will materialize on the Disney Treasure! Welcome to the Haunted Mansion Parlor — where happy haunts meet classic cruise charm. This parlor embodies the golden age of ocean travel and is inspired by the original Haunted Mansion attraction. In fact, this parlor has a lore of its own — the captain finds himself in the ghostly world after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé. Be on the lookout for ride tributes such as the iconic wallpaper and the distinctive purple armchair tucked away in a corner.

In addition, spirited craft cocktails and exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase including a signature beverage, Conjuring Up the Magic. This bewitching concoction is a twist on the classic margarita but includes a swirl of flavored smoke that contains a secret message that can only be revealed by black light!

Dining Aboard the Disney Treasure

Now let's talk about the details of the Disney Treasure's rotational dining. Would you believe that you've got not one, not two, but three frogtastic restaurants to experience? You'll be assigned a specific restaurant for dinner each night. On the 7-night sailings, you will rotate back to the same dining spots — getting to experience them more than once, but new dishes and experiences will help to switch things up a bit. Psst, you can peek at the menus in the Disney Cruise app to get an idea of what delicacies await you.

Each restaurant aboard the Disney Treasure has its own immersive theming:

Plaza De Coco

Get ready for an amazing new dining experience on the Disney Treasure — Plaza de Coco! During your first night there, you'll continue Miguel's story from the movie. He and his family will take you on a colorful journey filled with music, where you'll enjoy delicious Mexican food and live entertainment.

Disney Treasure — Rendering of the new Coco De Plaza restaurant. A family of four is smiling as they are dining and watching the show with Miguel at center stage.

You'll visit Plaza de Coco twice during your seven-night cruise. On the second night, Miguel will use his magic guitar to bring back his great-great-grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda. They'll transport you to the town square in Santa Cecilia where you'll celebrate Día de los Muertos, Rivera family style, with famous songs from the movie.

Worlds of Marvel

An epic dining adventure awaits at the Worlds of Marvel! This is a unique experience where you dine surrounded by the excitement of the Marvel Universe. You'll get to see some of your favorite superheroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America and Ant-Man. You'll also play a role in an action-packed Avengers mission all while enjoying a three-course meal. Get your appetite and your superhero spirit ready!

1923

Step back in time to the year 1923! This venue is named for the year the Walt Disney Company was founded. Inside, you'll find a classic and elegant atmosphere with touches of Disney history and California-inspired cuisine.

Jumbeaux's Sweets

If you've got a sweet tooth, then you're in for a treat on the Disney Treasure ship! It will have a new sweetshop called Jumbeaux's Sweets, inspired by the popular ice cream place, Jumbeaux Café, in Disney's "Zootopia." Inside, it's all pretty in pink with fancy Victorian-style decor, and you'll even spot a cute sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. There will be over 35 flavors of homemade gelato, ice cream, sorbets, plus specialty treats and candies.

Cafes

Near the Grand Hall, you'll find two walk-up cafes offering coffee, tea, special drinks and snacks. These cafes draw inspiration from two courageous Disney Princesses: Moana and Mulan. Heihei Café, named after Moana's playful chicken companion, features design elements reminiscent of the blue waters from Moana's island of Motunui. The other cafe, Jade Cricket Café, takes inspiration from the movie "Mulan."

Room Service

Room service is a convenient way to enjoy a meal or snack without leaving the comfort of your stateroom. There's a variety of goodies that can be delivered right to your room (even Mickey ice cream bars!). The menu includes options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is complimentary and typically available around the clock.

Our Best Tips for Sailing on the Disney Treasure

From our own Disney Cruise experiences, we've uncovered a treasure trove of valuable tips that are helpful as you're planning your adventure:

  • Book Early: Disney Cruises are popular and tend to fill up fast, so make your reservations well in advance to secure your preferred dates and accommodations. (Don't froget that you can save on your next Disney Cruise when you book through Undercover Tourist!)
  • Pack Essentials: Remember to pack items such as sunscreen, swimwear, comfortable walking shoes and any necessary medications. Also, bring formal attire for special occasions and adult-exclusive dining. We recommend bringing a carry-on bag with you on embarkation day. The crew will not deliver your luggage to your stateroom until late afternoon. Hop over to our ultimate Disney cruise packing list for more tips.
  • Personalize Your Experience: Customize your cruise by pre-booking activities such as adult-exclusive dining, spa treatments and Port Adventures online before you set sail. We recommend booking these magical extras as soon as your Castaway Club level booking window opens.
  • Complete Your Online Check-In ASAP: (according to your Castaway Club level stats) so you can snag an early port arrival time. An earlier arrival time means more time on the ship!
  • Download the App: The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is your go-to guide for onboard schedules, dining details and navigation around the ship.
  • Dining Requests: Dietary requests can be made in advance on the Disney Cruise website and in the app. Your servers will ask about dietary needs in the main dining rooms as well.
  • Stay Hydrated: It's easy to get busy and forget to stay hydrated. Carry a refillable water bottle and take advantage of the complimentary drink stations.
  • Capture Memories: Consider purchasing a photo package to remember your trip. You can purchase digital photo packages in advance or once you're aboard.
  • Want a little dose of the Disney Treasure now? Give a listen to, "Live the Adventure" — the signature song dedicated to the Disney Treasure with vocals by Jordin Sparks. "Live the Adventure" is available on most music streaming services. It will have you dancing along and dreaming about your next Disney Cruise Line adventure!
