Overview of the Disney Treasure Ship

This remarkable new 15-deck ship is being crafted with care at Meyer Werft in Germany and is gearing up to set sail on its maiden voyage starting Dec. 21, 2024. Like its sister ship, the Disney Wish, it will run on clean and eco-friendly liquefied natural gas. You know we frogs love those green efforts!

Disney Treasure - Aladdin and Jasmine gold statue in Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure

The ship's heart is designed to reflect "Walt Disney's thirst for adventure," and its overall ambiance will transport you to the world of "Aladdin." You'll be whisked away to a "whole new world" as soon as you step aboard the Disney Treasure. In the atrium's lobby, you'll find a statue featuring Aladdin and Jasmine soaring on a magic carpet, taking central place just to the right of the sweeping staircase. Venture further into the ship, and you'll discover the breathtaking Great Hall atrium, a three-deck haven of entertainment adorned with a gilded palace theme, reminiscent of the Arabian desert kingdom of Agrabah. And don't miss the frogtastic stern featuring none other than Captain Hook and Peter Pan themselves — a perfect touch of Disney magic for all adventurers on board.

From the turquoise waters of the Caribbean to the sun-soaked shores of Florida, the Disney Treasure will claim Port Canaveral as its home port. The ship will set off on its first-ever journey, a seven-night trip in the Eastern Caribbean on Dec. 21, 2024. After that, it will continue with more seven-night trips to both the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral for its inaugural season from late December 2024 through May 2025. Some itinerary highlights include trips to Cozumel, Mexico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Disney's very own private island, Castaway Cay.

Early booking begins as early as Sept. 12, 2023, for eligible guests including Disney Castaway Club members, Golden Oak residents, Club 33 members, Disney Vacation Club members and Adventures by Disney Adventure Insiders. For everyone else, bookings will open Sept. 20, 2023 (and yes, Undercover Tourist will offer discount sailings on the Disney Treasure!)

Disney Treasure Accommodations

Stretching across 341.13 meters and weighing in at a whopping 140,000 gross tons, this sixth Triton-class addition to the Disney Cruise fleet boasts 1,246 guest staterooms, ready to accommodate up to 4,000 passengers.

Get ready for a sneak peek at the staterooms on Disney Treasure! These rooms strike a perfect balance between modern style and that warm, nostalgic Disney charm. They're like stepping into the magical worlds of your favorite Disney stories such as "Aladdin," "Pocahontas," "Up" and "Encanto." And if you're looking for something even more special, Disney Cruise Line offers concierge suites that are inspired by the elegant beauty of "The Lion King."

The well-designed cabins and suites are mainly located in midship, with the majority offering verandahs that provide stunning ocean views. Just like all the other Disney ships, the staterooms are among the industry's most spacious, purposefully designed to easily accommodate families of four or more.

Each stateroom is equipped with the latest travel industry amenities, ensuring that you have everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable voyage. The cabins feature plenty of storage space, a cozy lounge or living area and unique split bathrooms — one with a shower, bathtub, sink, closet and another with a separate toilet and sink. The beds are raised to create space for under-bed storage, so you can keep your belongings neatly tucked away.

Each cabin also includes standard amenities such as plenty of charging ports, mirrored vanities, a smart HDTV, a refrigerator, an in-room safe and a hair dryer.

Royal Suites

On the Disney Treasure cruise ship, you can stay in four special royal suites that celebrate your favorite Disney characters' loyal animal friends. These suites are named after some of these feline companions, such as the Bagheera Royal Suites and the Rajah Royal Suites. It's an adventure-themed experience you won't want to miss!

Tomorrow Tower Suite

The suite is located in the ship's forward tunnel and has a massive two-story window that gives you a fantastic view of the ship's top deck and the wide-open sea. The Tomorrow Tower Suite is all about embracing the innovative spirit that inspired EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort. It's huge, with almost 2,000 square feet of space and can comfortably accommodate eight guests. You'll have everything you need, including spaces to eat, sleep and play. There's even a full kitchen and a private elevator!

Recreation and Entertainment Aboard the Disney Treasure Ship

On Disney Treasure, a world of endless activities and recreation awaits — there's something for everyone in your crew.

Character Meet and Greets

While sailing the ocean blue, you'll have the opportunity to meet and hang out with your favorite Disney characters. Imagine getting to see real-life princesses, brave superheroes and all your classic Disney friends. Have your camera at the ready as the characters will take pictures with you, and give hugs and high-fives. Characters can be found in the deck entertainment shows, but also in the halls and at select photo spots throughout your entire trip.

Disney Treasure - Captain Minnie holding a brown leather and gold telescope

A familiar face takes the helm as captain — none other than Minnie Mouse herself! Donning an all-new outfit inspired by adventure, Minnie's iconic red and white polka dots still make an appearance on her scarf and hat. But that's not all; she also graces the keel coin, a symbolic touch marking the ship's construction commencement during the keel laying ceremony. As maritime tradition dictates, a "lucky" coin found its place beneath the keel, paving the way for good fortune and safe passage for both the ship and its passengers.

Sailing Away Deck Party

The Disney Cruise Sailing Away Deck Party is an exciting kickoff to your unfrogettable voyage. As the ship sets sail, join fellow passengers on the upper decks for an exciting celebration. Dance to upbeat music, watch as the Fab Five make special appearances and soak in the electric atmosphere as you wave goodbye to the shore. The party's energy is infectious, setting the tone for the adventures ahead.

Be sure to listen for the Disney Treasure's distinctive horn. The Disney Cruise horn is one-of-a-kind. Unlike any other cruise line, Disney ships boast a collection of distinct horn melodies that include familiar Disney tunes from "When You Wish Upon a Star" to the iconic "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)." We can't wait to hear what songs will be featured on the Disney Treasure cruise ship!

AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg

When aboard the Disney Treasure, you'll get to experience something really exciting — Disney Cruise Line's very own attraction at sea called AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg. It's like diving into the world of Mickey Mouse animated shorts. You'll hop on two-person ride vehicles that are lifted high above the upper decks, and these powerful jets will send you zooming through 760 feet of twisty tubes. Along the way, you'll see breathtaking views of the ocean and the ship below. On the Disney Treasure, AquaMouse has a brand-new story where Mickey and Minnie Mouse go on a wacky adventure into an ancient temple to find a legendary treasure.

Sarabi

Sarabi is not just an ordinary theatre; it's a two-story hub that will be abuzz with daytime activities and special evening fun just for grown-up frogs. It's named after the lioness matriarch from "The Lion King," and it's designed to make you feel like you're in the wide-open savanna, where Sarabi lived. It's going to be a hoppin' spot on the ship!

Walt Disney Theatre

The stage truly comes alive with Broadway-style shows that feature your favorite characters and stories. While more details about a new third show will be revealed soon, you can look forward to enjoying classic tales such as "Beauty and the Beast" and "Disney Seas the Adventure" during your cruise. These shows will entertain and captivate audiences with timeless stories that everyone loves.

For a more relaxed atmosphere, there's The Rose, a lounge where you can unwind with expertly crafted cocktails. These adult-only dining spots promise a sophisticated culinary adventure and a chance to savor the finer side of cruise cuisine.

Periscope Pub

Disney Treasure — Periscope Pub

Periscope Pub is inspired by the 1954 movie "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," and the famous Disney ride at Walt Disney World that was open from 1971 to 1994. Inside, it'll look like you're in a submarine from the 1800s with shiny metal details and a steampunk style. There's even a big window on the ceiling that makes it feel like you're Captain Nemo on his Nautilus submarine. It's a relaxed place to hang out, watch sports or news and you can order craft beers and small snacks from the menu.

Skipper Society

A new campy lounge called Skipper Society will debut on the Disney Treasure. It's the first time Disney has brought the famous Jungle Cruise attraction from the Disney Parks to a cruise. But instead of the backside of water, the place has natural colors and jungle-style furniture. There are fun nods to the clever skippers who run the Jungle Cruise. You'll find a monkey-shaped chandelier, postcards and luggage tags from their adventures, all while enjoying special drinks and light snacks under a jungle canopy.

Dining Aboard the Disney Treasure

Ahoy, fellow travelers! Let's talk about the mouthwatering details of the Disney Treasure's rotational dining. Would you believe that you've got not one, not two, but three frogtastic restaurants to experience on the high seas? Each stateroom is assigned a specific restaurant for dinner each night. You'll find your dining locations and schedule in the Disney Cruise Line app.  On longer journeys, you will rotate back to the same dining spots — getting to experience them more than once, but new dishes and experiences will help to switch things up a bit. Psst, you can peek at the menus in the app to get an idea of what delicacies await you. And that's not all ... your servers become your foodie sidekicks, following you to each spot on every night of your cruise.

Each restaurant aboard the Disney Treasure has its own immersive theming:

Plaza De Coco

Get ready for an amazing new dining experience on the Disney Treasure! It's called Plaza de Coco, and it's the first time Disney has themed a dining place after the Disney and Pixar movie "Coco." Inside, it's like a dinner theater with a stage in the middle and tables all around. During your first night there, you'll continue Miguel's story from the movie. He and his family will take you on a colorful journey filled with music. You'll enjoy a dinner with modern twists on tasty Mexican food and live entertainment. Miguel, his parents, Enrique and Luisa, and Abuelita Elena will be there to celebrate music and love with you.

Disney Treasure — Rendering of the new Coco De Plaza restaurant. A family of four is smiling as they are dining and watching the show with Miguel at center stage.

You'll get to visit Plaza de Coco twice during your seven-night cruise. On the second night, Miguel will use his magic guitar to bring back his great-great-grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda. They'll transport you to the town square in Santa Cecilia, and together, you'll celebrate Día de los Muertos, Rivera family style, with some unforgettable songs from the movie.

Worlds of Marvel

Get ready for an epic dining adventure at the Worlds of Marvel! It's a unique experience where you dine surrounded by the excitement of the Marvel Universe. You'll meet some of your favorite superheroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America and Ant-Man. You'll also play a role in an action-packed Avengers mission while enjoying a delicious meal. During the Avengers Quantum Encounter, Ant-Man and the Wasp join forces with guests and fellow Avengers to thwart Ultron's scheme to pilfer potent quantum technology. Get your appetite and your superhero spirit ready!

1923

Step into the 1923 Restaurant for a taste of the past with a dash of Disney magic. It's like a time machine that whisks you back to the early days of Disney. The restaurant is named after the year Walt Disney himself founded the company. Inside, you'll find a classic and elegant atmosphere with touches of Disney history. Get ready to take a delicious journey back in time.

Jumbeaux's Sweets

If you've got a sweet tooth, you're in for a treat on the Disney Treasure ship! It will have a new sweetshop called Jumbeaux's Sweets, inspired by the popular ice cream place, Jumbeaux Café, in Disney's "Zootopia." Inside, it's all pretty in pink with fancy Victorian-style buildings, and you'll even spot a cute sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. There are over 35 flavors of homemade gelato, ice cream, sorbets and all kinds of special treats and candies.

Disney Treasure — Rendering of the new sweet shop. Smiling families are taking photos and getting ice cream treats.

Cafes

Close to the Grand Hall, there are two walk-up cafes where you can grab coffee, tea, special drinks and snacks. These cafes are inspired by two brave Disney Princesses: Moana and Mulan. One of them is called Heihei Café, named after Moana's silly chicken friend. It'll have a design that reminds you of the beautiful blue waters and seashells from Moana's island of Motunui. The other one is the Jade Cricket Café, inspired by the classic Disney movie "Mulan." It pays tribute to Cri-Kee, the lucky cricket, with a jade sculpture right on the bar.

Room Service

Room service is a convenient way for guests to enjoy a meal or snack without having to leave the comfort of their stateroom. You'll be able to order a variety of goodies to be delivered directly to your cabin, even Mickey ice cream bars! The menu includes options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is typically available around the clock.

Our Best Tips for Sailing on the Disney Treasure

Through our own firsthand Disney Cruise experiences, we've uncovered a treasure trove of valuable tips that are helpful to keep top of mind as you're planning your adventure:

  • Book Early: Disney Cruises are popular and tend to fill up fast, so make your reservations well in advance to secure your preferred dates and accommodations. Booking for the Dec. 2024 sailing starts Sept. 12, 2024, for Castaway Club members, Golden Oak residents, Disney Vacation Club members, Club 33 members and Adventure by Disney Adventure Insiders — and Sept. 20, 2024, for all other guests. (Don't froget that you can save on your next Disney Cruise when you book through Undercover Tourist!)
  • Pack Essentials: Remember to pack items such as sunscreen, swimwear, comfortable walking shoes and any necessary medications. Also, bring formal attire for special occasions, as some nights might be dressier. We recommend bringing a carry-on bag with you on embarkation day. Your luggage won't be delivered to your stateroom until much later in the afternoon.
  • Personalize Your Experience: Customize your cruise by pre-booking activities such as character meet-and-greets, spa treatments and shore excursions online before you set sail.
  • Get to the Port Early: Arrive at the port early on embarkation day to avoid long lines and start your vacation on a relaxed note.
  • Download the App: The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is your go-to guide for onboard schedules, activity updates and navigation around the ship.
  • Dining Requests: Enjoy rotational dining, where you rotate through different themed restaurants. If you have dietary restrictions, let the staff know in advance for a seamless dining experience.
  • Kids' Clubs: Do take advantage of the amazing kids' clubs available onboard. They offer age-appropriate activities and entertainment, allowing parents some well-deserved relaxation time.
  • Character Interactions: Keep an eye on the schedule for character appearances. Lines can be long, so plan accordingly if meeting characters is a priority.
  • Stay Hydrated: With all the activities, it's easy to get busy and forget to stay hydrated. Carry a refillable water bottle and take advantage of the complimentary drink stations.
  • Capture Memories: Disney Cruises offer fantastic photo opportunities, so consider purchasing a photo package to remember your journey.

Whether you're young or young at heart, the Disney Treasure cruise ship is your gateway to creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Are you just as excited as we are about the Disney Treasure? Let us know in the comments if you'll be booking a Disney Treasure cruise in 2024!
