In short, Marvel Day at Sea is a special themed event that is offered on select Disney cruises. It is a jam-packed one-day event where the ship completely transforms into a celebration of all things Marvel. The Marvel Day at Sea cruises are filled with superhero-themed activities, entertainment, character experiences and special culinary offerings.
Great news, frog friends! The Marvel Day at Sea cruises will return in 2026, but this time on the Disney Magic. The itineraries include four and five-night Western Caribbean cruises sailing out of Galveston, TX.

Disney Cruise Marvel Day at Sea Character Encounters
Probably the coolest thing about Marvel Day at Sea is the character experiences. You can expect to rub elbows with iconic Marvel characters such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Black Panther and more. On your Marvel Day at Sea, you'll see over 30 Super Heroes and villains making appearances around the ship. In addition, there are scheduled meet and greets, where you can take photos and get in some coveted one-on-one time with your favorite characters from the Marvel Universe.
Encounters and photo-ops include characters such as:
- Spider-Man

- Black Panther
- Shuri (from "Black Panther")
- Captain Marvel

In addition to character encounters, Marvel Day at Sea includes special events such as deck parties, Marvel-themed trivia contests, movie screenings of popular Marvel films and interactive shows.
Marvel Heroes Unite: An exciting nighttime deck show full of amazing stunts, cool special effects and awesome pyrotechnics. You'll see lots of Marvel Super Heroes and villains in a big battle that travels through the multiverse. This show ends with fireworks at sea!
Strange Academy: A Spellbinding Spectacular: This is a new show at the Walt Disney Theatre. It's all about the mystic arts, with Doctor Strange, the powerful witch Agatha Harkness and Sorcerer Supreme Wong showing off their powers.
Warriors of Wakanda Show: Prepare to be mesmerized as the Dora Milaje do their thing! Led by Okoye, the leader of Wakanda's elite warriors, you'll see what it's like to train with them. This event is held in the ship's atrium.
Star-Spangled USO Show: You've got to see this toadally rad tribute to Captain America! It's a blast from the past with old-timey music and dancing at the Evolution dance club. And who knows? Captain America himself might even make a surprise appearance.
Marvel Costume Celebration: Have a blast with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Chip 'n' Dale as they dress up like their favorite Marvel Super Heroes! Kids of all ages will have a great time hanging out with their favorite Disney pals.
Also scheduled throughout your Marvel Day at Sea, you'll find Marvel-themed hoppenings around the ship:
- Marvel Movie screenings both in the Buena Vista Theatre and on deck
- Family Trivia — your chance to show off your knowledge about your favorite heroes and villains
- Animation Academy — learn to draw your favorite Marvel Super Heroes, such as Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man or even Groot!
- Kids Activities — kids from 4 to 12 years old can learn how to be superheroes with different activities hosted in Disney's Oceaneer Club
- Marvel Origins — get ready to learn all about the Marvel Universe in this interactive session
Marvel Day at Sea Dining Experiences
On your scheduled Marvel Day at Sea, the ship's restaurants and buffet menus transform to include Marvel-themed goodies. You might find dishes named after Super Heroes or villains, such as the "Incredible Hulk Rosemary Roasted Beef Tenderloin" or the "Captain America Crab Cake."
Look out for drinks and snacks inspired by Marvel characters. These range from cocktails such as the themed Multiverse for adults to colorful mocktails for kids, all with creative names and presentations. The dining areas onboard are decorated with Marvel-themed elements, such as table settings featuring Super Hero logos, centerpieces and posters inspired by iconic Marvel scenes. Specialty Marvel-themed coffee drinks can also be found at the onboard coffee bars.
For specialty treats, you can splurge on an assortment of Marvel-themed desserts at Vanellope's Sweets & Treats. An Iron Man brownie?! Yes, please!

So, is a Marvel Day at Sea right for your crew? It certainly depends on several factors such as your family's interests, preferences, schedule and travel plans. If you or someone in your family is a Marvel fan, then a Marvel Day at Sea cruise just makes sense. But what if you're not into Marvel? Even if you're not, a Marvel Day at Sea cruise shouldn't be a dealbreaker. We still encourage you to book the trip, especially if the itinerary interests you or fits your travel timeframe and schedule.
The majority of the Marvel activities are dedicated to just one of the days you'll be on the ship. It is held on the day you'll be out at sea. While there will be tons of Marvel activities buzzing around the ship, there are still plenty of spaces to duck out if needed.
Mommy and Daddy Frog visit Quiet Cove — the adults-only area for a little R&R. Plus, you'll have other days aboard that won't be completely Marvel-themed.
