Universal Orlando Resort is changing the theme park game with its brand new addition and frogciting fourth park, Universal Epic Universe. Set to open in 2025, this innovative new theme park will house five immersive worlds featuring heart-pounding attractions, mouthwatering dining, stupendous shopping and much more. At the center of Epic Universe will be the world between worlds, Celestial Park. The gateway to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk and Dark Universe, Celestial Park is where all these beloved stories begin. We're over the moon to report that we finally know what you'll get to experience as you wander through this imaginative world.
Hop To
What Is Celestial Park?
No matter where your story takes you, you'll begin by stepping through the Emerald Gate and the Chronos device at the entrance to Epic Universe. What is Chronos, you may ask? Well, according to the executive producer for Celestial Park, Adam Rivest, it's the "giant machine used to harness the energy of the Universe that powers all of Celestial Park," allowing you to access other worlds.
Full of luscious living gardens, cascading waterfalls and meandering pathways, Celestial Park was lovingly designed to "put the 'park' back in 'theme park'," says Rivest. Not only will you be surrounded by mystical portals that will transport you to different worlds, but awe-inspiring architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements. Think of this as the place to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the epic worlds around you.
The center of an ever-evolving universe, Celestial Park has been visited for centuries by artists, musicians, explorers, adventures and inventors — all of whom have come looking for inspiration and connection and have left a little piece of themselves behind. Best of all, as you exit back through the park at the end of the day, you'll be met with a breathtaking sight as the entire area illuminates like the starry night sky.
Celestial Park Rides
From family-friendly to fast and furious (no, not that one), Celestial Park is home to three different attractions that frogs of all ages are sure to love!
Stardust Racers
Designed to feel like an old wooden coaster, Stardust Racers is a 1.8 mile side-by-side race between two comets to see who gets to the end first. Prepare to rise up in your seat as you reach speeds up to 62 miles per hour and heights up to 133 feet on this dual-launch coaster. Described as "Epic Universe's most thrilling coaster experience," Stardust Racers features unique maneuvers, such as the "Celestial Spin," in which the two coaster vehicles perform an inverted crisscross while speeding through the air, oh ... and no break zones. Adorned with hundreds of points of light, this coaster will look like shooting comets racing across the sky come nightfall. (PS: If you consider yourself a Universal fan, you might want to keep an eye on the back of each coaster vehicle for an "outatime" Easter egg!)
Constellation Carousel
The grand centerpiece of Celestial Park, Constellation Carousel will take explorers of all ages on a fantastical spin through the constellations. Board a celestial creature and prepare to glide forward, backward and even 360 degrees around the Milky Way on "the most enchanting carousel ever made," according to Gabriela Lander, director of Facility Design for Universal Creative. Covered in hundreds of points of starlight, this effortlessly choreographed dance of music and starlight will create a breathtaking cosmic ambiance that redefines the traditional carousels of our childhood.
Astronomica
A wet-play area featuring crystal blue fountains that dance around guests, Astronomica serves as a giant compass rose to the many wondrous worlds of Epic Universe. Be sure to return at night as this interactive attraction comes alive with light, color and music!
Restaurants in Celestial Park
An explorer's got to eat! Luckily, Celestial Park will house a frogtastic array of unique dining experiences ranging from full-service restaurants to quick-service locations — offering something satisfying for any given palate. The menus at these restaurants not only touch on Universal's award-winning storytelling and immersive experiences, but also take great care in covering dietary restrictions and preferences, too!
Atlantic Restaurant
Nestled in the center of Celestial Park, Atlantic Restaurant will be serving up the freshest seafood and typical — and not-so-typical — surf and turf in a jaw-dropping Victorian aquarium. Surrounded by the shimmering waters of Neptune's pool and floor-to-ceiling glass walls, this full-service restaurant will offer captivating views of Celestial Park.
The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant
Embark on a culinary journey across Asia at The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant where the delectable menu is as vibrant as the neon dragons that snake the interior of the dining room. Serving up "flavor bombs" of authentic Chinese, Japanese and Thai fare, this full-service restaurant will allow you to dine under the constellations, as lanterns dance overhead in a beautiful indoor courtyard. If you need some liquid courage to tackle Stardust Racers, grab a seat at the cozy Tiger Bar away from the bustling hubbub.
The Oak & Star Tavern
Get ready to indulge in some savory barbecue. Napkins, please!
