"This is Berk. Best kept secret this side of, well, anywhere." And you can visit this incredible isle at Universal Epic Universe. That's right: How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk is one of the four worlds that surrounds the central Celestial Park at Universal Orlando Resort's fantastical fourth gate (not to mention, the largest of them!). As our good pal Hiccup once said, "This wet heap of rocks packs more than a few surprises," and I'm leaping with joy to start uncovering them with you. So, saddle up, because we're breaking down everything you'll find when you enter through the portal and step foot into this vast Viking world.

Overview of How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk at Epic Universe
A visual and interactive spectacle beyond your wildest imagination, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk is a larger-than-life, eighth-century Viking village. From the moment you step through the portal in Celestial Park, you'll be welcomed by the iconic Viking and dragon statues featured in the films as you gaze upon a lagoon dotted with Viking ships. Developed to fit in between the second and third "How to Train Your Dragon" films, Isle of Berk is set during the golden age of harmony between Vikings and dragons.
Rugged, massive and wildly colorful, this world is a "visual and sensory masterpiece showcasing handmade Viking-size features, including nine-foot-tall doors, handmade benches carved by chainsaw, woven tapestries and six real-timber buildings." You'll be able to experience iconic locations from the films, such as Gobber's Forge, Hiccups House and the Dragon racing bleachers. An attraction unto itself, you'll be struck by the scale and vibrancy of the "awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping" world of Berk.
You can explore the island where Vikings and fire-breathing dragons exist together in harmony in the Epic Universe map, now available on the Universal Orlando app!

How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk Rides
From aspiring dragon riders to seasoned dragon racers, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk at Epic Universe has something for Vikings of all ages!
Hiccup's Wing Gliders
Think you have what it takes to be a Dragon Rider? Hop aboard Hiccup's latest contraption: a winged flying machine that's meant to simulate what it's like to fly on a dragon. One problem, though ... Toothless let his jealousy get the better of him and has launched your glider into the air before the wings are attached. (Uh, oh!) Hold on tight because this family coaster will have you swooping and soaring over the Isle of Berk, careening wildly through the Viking village and skimming across the top of the lagoon at speeds up to 45 mph. You may even encounter Hiccup, Toothless and other dragons throughout your flight! (And yes, the tearjerking "Test Drive" does blast through the onboard speakers.)
Dragon Racer's Rally
You're gonna need some practice if you want to become a champion dragon racer. Luckily, Snotlout and Astrid have just the training module where you can control how "wild" or "mild" you want your flight to be. Strap into these Viking-made dragon-riding trainers and prepare to practice aerobatic maneuvers and high-speed barrel rolls as you reach heights up to 67 feet in the air. This high-thrill flying attraction — which features a ride system brand new to Universal Destinations & Experiences — will have you mastering your high-flying, gravity-defying, swooping and soaring skills in no time!
Fyre Drill
If you want to be a dragon trainer, you need to learn how to put out dragon fires. That's why twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut have transformed Berk's Fyre Skööl into a watery, interactive boat battle. Board a colorful dragon-headed boat and blast water cannons that shoot over 28 feet through the air at over 130 moving flame-like targets, as well as the occupants of every other boat on the lagoon. Outscore and outsoak your fellow Vikings in this wet-and-wild battle at sea — and don't expect to disembark dry. (We're not joking. Be prepared to get soaked. Human-sized dragon dryers are conveniently located nearby.)
Viking Training Camp
Junior Vikings don't have to miss out on all the dragon training fun! This sprawling, colorful, interactive play area has everything a future Dragon Rider could ever want. They'll love climbing this adventure camp's multiple towers and exploring everything it has to offer, such as a Viking agility course, a Toothless-themed teeter-totter, baby Gronckle dragon climbers, Viking drums and chimes, an interactive sheep launcher game, slides and so much more. Under the tutelage of Berk's resident dragon expert, Fishlegs, young Vikings will learn about all the different classes of dragons.
