Hi there! Welcome to our weekly roundup of the most interesting theme park news around the Walt Disney World Resort, the Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland Resort, other theme parks and Disney Cruise Line.

Weekly News Roundup - Candlelight Processional Narrators Announced

  • We can't believe the holidays are right around the corner — and theme parks are already sharing info about the upcoming holiday hoppenings. Kicking off the latest festive news, the full lineup of celebrity narrators for the EPCOT Candlelight Processional has been unwrapped. This year, Nico Santos, Tituss Burgess and Ralph Macchio will narrate for the first time, and they'll be joined by returning fan favorites including Neil Patrick Harris, Jodi Benson, Josh Gad and more. EPCOT Candlelight Processional dining packages, which include guaranteed seating, become available starting Oct. 29, 2024. JOYFUL!, another Festival of the Holidays show, is set to return for four performances each day at the new CommuniCore Plaza Stage.
  • Moving right along, Animal Kingdom will host Santa at the 75th Annual Dino Institute Holiday Party on the patio at Restaurantosaurus (a new greeting location) from Nov. 12 to Dec. 24, 2024. At Hollywood Studios, three new entertainment acts will debut — including Juggling Elves, the Holiday Spirit Band and Seasons Jukebox, a collegiate marching band. Hop over to our holiday guides for more info about returning festivities at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios!
  • Rounding out holiday news, Minnie Mouse is ready to soar over New York City during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for the very first time. The 60-foot-tall Minnie Mouse balloon will feature her signature red-and-white polka dot bow and yellow heels. Also joining the parade will be Disney Cruise Line's first float, "Magic Meets the Seas" — along with a choreographed performance starring Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie and their friends from Disney Animation, Pixar and more. The float celebrates the growing fleet, including the Disney Treasure, Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny.

A brand-new stage show, "Remember," stars Wall-E and Eve alongside other Disney Animation and Pixar characters from "Coco," "Aladdin," "The Little Mermaid" and more. Bookings for the Disney Adventure open Dec. 10, 2024, with more details on sailing dates available Nov. 14, 2024. For more details, hop over to our Disney Adventure guide!
  • The rethemed Bayou Country (formerly Critter Country) is getting ready for its big debut next month at Disneyland Park! The new headlining attraction, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, will begin annual passholder previews via a virtual queue next week, starting Oct. 21, ahead of its Nov. 15 opening date. Louis' Critter Club will open a couple days earlier on Nov. 13. Plus, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree will open Oct. 25!
  • Disney World provided some major attraction updates: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will close Jan. 6, 2025, and reopen in 2026 "with a little bit of new magic."
