Inside This Post Inside This Post

Hoppy Halloween! One of the best parts of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is meeting all of the special characters. This separately ticketed event occurs after regular park hours at Magic Kingdom Park and offers so much exclusive entertainment and character greetings. (Psst ... you can get discount party tickets from us frogs!) We have all the characters from 2023 listed so you can plan out your character greetings, including the return of the Seven Dwarfs! Here's everything to know about characters at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Overview of Characters at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Character greetings are one of our favorite reasons to attend the party — most characters are rare or in special themed outfits. There are more than 20 characters that meet throughout the park during the party. The official party map provides a symbol indicating where there is a character meet-and-greet but not which character. So we've separated the characters by land below.

In general, when we refer to wait times — low means less than 30 minutes of waiting, medium means about 30 to 60 minutes and long means more than an hour. These are approximate and can vary for each party, but we wanted to give you an idea of which characters have more popular lines.

Characters in Main Street, U.S.A.

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Mickey in Halloween costume

Mickey Mouse

Starting off with the host of the party, Mickey Mouse is modeling his Halloween outfit, which is exclusive to the event. He meets at his regular location at Town Square Theater. During regular park hours, he greets guests in his magician outfit. Once the party starts at 7 p.m., he then meets in his spooktacular purple and orange suit while Minnie goes off to Storybook Circus. Both the meet-and-greet and queue are entirely inside (making it a plus if you experience bad weather).

Mickey's wait is low to medium most of the night, often about 15 to 30 minutes. We recommend meeting him during the first parade or toward the end of the night for the shortest waits.

Jack Skellington and Sally

Also in Town Square Theater are the most popular characters at the party — Jack Skellington and Sally. This "Nightmare Before Christmas" duo is exclusive to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (dressed as Sandy Paws). Both the meet-and-greet and queue for Jack and Sally are entirely inside.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Jack Skellington and Sally

Their line can get very long with an average wait time of two to three hours (While initially you could check the wait time in the My Disney Experience app, you now must head to the actual location to view the current wait time). They typically begin greeting around 4:30 p.m. and you can enter the line around 4 p.m. with a wristband. If meeting them is a priority, we recommend using the pre-party time to meet them so no actual party time is taken away — in fact, the earlier the better because the line builds quickly. Otherwise, the line will be a bit shorter in the second half of the party. Note that they may cut the line off to new guests toward the end of the night, so try not to wait too long to hop over.

Characters in Tomorrowland

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party — Stitch dressed as Elvis

Stitch

You can find Stitch in full Elvis-fashion across from Monster's, Inc. Laugh Floor. Stitch is in an Elvis costume, which is rare and typically only seen at this event. The meet-and-greet is inside while the queue is partially outside. Guests can meet him sans-costume during regular park hours also in Tomorrowland.

This is another popular character with medium wait times. He may begin meeting as early as 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Since his set times are listed in the My Disney Experience app, we recommend arriving prior to that time. Early on during the party, his line is about an hour long and is fairly consistent all night long, though may be a bit shorter around 11 p.m.

Characters in Fantasyland

Alice and the Mad Hatter

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Alice and Mad Hatter posing with guest

The fun duo of Alice and the Mad Hatter makes for a delightful outdoor meet-and-greet by the Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland. While you can meet Alice regularly at EPCOT, you don't often see the Mad Hatter out and about (besides catching them both in the Festival of Fantasy parade at Magic Kingdom).

These characters are about a low to medium wait time. Be mindful of their set times by checking the My Disney Experience app.

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Queen of Hearts

Queen of Hearts

Also near Mad Tea Party is the Queen of Hearts. This rare villain does not make many appearances and is exclusive to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Her meet-and-greet and queue are entirely outside.

She alternates with Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, so try to enter the line when they are finishing up so you can time it for her majesty's presence. We got in line a few minutes before one of her scheduled times and waited about 25 minutes (after our turn, we heard the cast members tell her that she had five minutes left until she had to return to her castle).

Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum

This matching yellow-and-red duo greets at Mad Tea Party. They are very rare and exclusive to the party. Their line is outside and alternates every half hour with the Queen of Hearts.

Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet in their Halloween costumes

Our favorite One Hundred Acre Woods friends are looking absolutely precious in their Halloween costumes. Pooh is dressed as a bee, Eeyore in a party outfit, Tigger as a pirate and Piglet as a butterfly. They greet guests next to the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction — you can meet Winnie and Tigger in that same location during regular park hours. The quartet is fairly exclusive and only can be seen together at the Halloween party, Very Merry (in holiday attire) or at The Crystal Palace character dining.

These characters are also very popular. Expect to wait close to an hour or more for this popular crew. They may start meeting a little before the party starts, usually around 6:30 p.m. Their queue is outside while the meet-and-greet is covered.

Ariel and Eric

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Eric and Ariel posing with guest

Calling all Little Mermaid Fans! (It's me, we're calling me ... ). Prince Eric and Princess Ariel are greeting royal guests in front of the Under the Sea attraction in Fantasyland. We rarely see Ariel in her teal dress and Eric is extremely rare (princes, in general, are very rare), so we love seeing these two together.

With the popularity and rarity of this couple, be sure to plan earlier in the night if a priority for your family. Their meet-and-greet and queue are entirely outside.

Anastasia and Drizella

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Anastasia and Drizella

Cinderella's stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella, can be found roaming around the castle area of Fantasyland. They also appear during the day around the same area. These ladies bring quite the humor and banter to their interactions (don't worry — they're not too "evil" and like to joke around).

They are not in one set meeting location during the party, so keep an eye out behind Cinderella Castle and near Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. Their set times are listed in the My Disney Experience app.

Belle

Mickey's Not-So Scary Characters — Belle

You'll find Belle in her blue village dress at select times in front of Maurice's Cottage in Fantasyland. Belle meets in the same outfit at EPCOT and can be seen in her yellow ballgown during Enchanted Tales with Belle.

Belle has a low to medium wait time, especially since she is slightly off the beaten path. Since she is not considered a rare character, we would recommend saving her for regular park hours, unless you hoppen upon her with no line.

Cinderella and Elena

Cinderella and Elena continue their regular greeting at Princess Fairytale Hall throughout the party. They do not have any special outfits or additional characters. Since you can meet them during the day, we do not suggest meeting them during party hours. If you want to meet them while you're in costume, we recommend doing so between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the pre-party bonus time.

Rapunzel and Tiana

The same goes for Rapunzel and Tiana at Princess Fairytale Hall. They meet during the party but do not have any special outfits or additional characters. Since you can meet them during the day, we do not suggest meeting them during party hours. If you want to meet them while you're in costume, we recommend doing so between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the pre-party bonus time.

Characters in Storybook Circus

The Seven Dwarfs

Mickey's Not-So Scary Characters — The Seven Dwarfs

Making their triumphant return to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the Seven Dwarfs! Meeting at Pete's Silly Side Show, this popular group is extremely rare and can typically only be seen at the Halloween and Christmas parties. (Alternately, Grumpy and Dopey can be seen with Snow White and the Evil Queen at the Storybook Dining at Artist Point). Their last appearance was in 2019, so expect even longer lines.

Guests with wristbands may begin lining up as early as 4 p.m., though the Seven Dwarfs may not come out until close to the official party start at 7 p.m. (though you can at least "save" time waiting pre-party). On the first party, guests could line up outside and were brought inside the queue around 6:15 p.m. Initially, the wait time was listed in the My Disney Experience app, but now you must head to the location to view the current wait time. It often is close to two hours throughout the night, though we saw it go down to 30 minutes in the latter half of the party (especially during the fireworks and second parade).

Minnie Mouse

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Minnie dressed as a witch

Head over to Storybook Circus to see the cutest witch in town! Minnie Mouse meets in the play area of the Dumbo queue. The queue and meet-and-greet are entirely inside. You can meet Minnie in all four parks during regular park hours (in various outfits), though this outfit is exclusive to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

There is one queue for Minnie, Daisy and Donald, so this line can be a medium wait, but you get to meet all three characters at once!

Daisy Duck

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Daisy in royal costume posing with family

The fashionista diva herself, Daisy Duck, is dressed as a princess and also meets in the Dumbo queue. The queue and meet-and-greet are entirely inside. You can see Daisy at most of the parks during regular park hours (in various outfits), though this outfit is exclusive to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Donald in pumpkin costume

Donald Duck

Could Donald be any cuter in his adorable pumpkin costume? Our number one star meets in the Dumbo queue. You can see Donald at most of the parks during regular park hours (in various outfits), though this outfit is exclusive to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Sometimes Donald and Daisy meet together, making for a hilarious interaction, while other times they meet individually. Either way, you'll only have to wait in one line for all three, which can make it worth the wait, especially for fans of the Fab Five. You'll find Storybook Circus with extremely low crowds in the second half of the night, so this can be a great time to meet Minnie, Daisy and Donald!

Goofy

Goofy is dressed as a pirate just outside in front of The Barnstormer. The line and meet-and-greet are entirely outside. If there is inclement weather, Goofy may join his friends in the Dumbo queue, which means four characters for one line! Goofy is at most of the parks during regular park hours (in various outfits), though this outfit is exclusive to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Goofy as a pirate

Goofy's wait time is low to medium and especially drops off in the second half of the party.

Characters in Adventureland

Aladdin and Abu

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Abu and Aladdin posing with guest

Over in Adventureland, you'll find the fun duo of Aladdin and Abu. They meet across from the Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride. Aladdin and Jasmine meet at this same location during regular hours, but Abu is quite rare and is usually only seen at these parties. The line is partially covered and the meet-and-greet is an open-air covering.

They alternate with Jasmine and the Genie and there is one line for both pairs, so you'll want to time it with their set times. We recommend getting in line when the opposite pair is meeting so you have a better chance of them switching over.

Jasmine and Genie

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Genie and Jasmine posing with guest

You've never had a friend like me with the delightful pair of Genie and Jasmine. They meet across from the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Jasmine meets in the same location during the day with Aladdin, though meeting Genie is rare. (During normal park hours, Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie all make appearances in the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade, as well.)

Jasmine and Genie alternate with Aladdin and Abu with one queue, so the characters will switch on and off.

Jafar

One of the few villains that meet at the party, Jafar greets close to the other "Aladdin" characters. He typically meets near the Magic Carpets of Aladdin but may move slightly to a rain location, which is where we spotted him just around the corner. He is very rare and exclusive to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Jafar usually has a low to medium wait time. (Note that Jafar is a "fur character" and not a face character, meaning he will not speak. Given how tall and menacing this villain is, young tadpoles may be weary of meeting him.)

Jack Sparrow

- Characters at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Jack Sparrow posing with family

Across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, you'll find Jack Sparrow himself! He meets at this same location during regular park hours in the same outfit. Unless your family is a pirate crew for Halloween this year, we recommend meeting him during the day and saving party time for the exclusive characters.

Other Character Experiences at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Frontierland

In Frontierland, you'll find the Country Bears roaming in front of the Country Bear Jamboree at select times. Prepare your dance moves with Big Al, Liverlips, Shaker and Wendell. Since they come out along the parade route, they will not appear close to or during the Boo-to-You parade.

Liberty Square

Head to the front of the Haunted Mansion to see certain happy haunts, including Madame Carlotta and Madame Renatta. These ghosts appear randomly throughout the night on the front lawn of the attraction or in the queue.

Disney Junior Jam

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party — Vampirina at the Disney Junior Jam

Over at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, younger tadpoles will love the Disney Junior Jam, featuring some of Lily's Disney Channel faves, from 7 p.m. to midnight. You might see characters such as Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins and even Timon (note that the characters will rotate in and out). Lily adores this dance party, and it's a perfect way to see her favorite characters in a low-key way. It also has low crowds most of the time so it's easy to get individual interactions.

ZOM-BEATZ BASH

Though not exact characters, fans of the Disney Channel ZOMBIES movies will enjoy grooving with a cheerleader, zombie, werewolf and alien at this fun dance party at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Show off your best dance moves from 7 p.m. to midnight. Plus, Max Goof (cosplaying at Powerline) periodically makes appearances with his dance crew!

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

If you want to see more of your favorite villains, be sure to watch the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular show on the castle stage. It features the Sanderson Sisters and appearances from villains including Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent and more!

Boo-to-You Parade

You won't want to miss the popular Boo-to-You parade, hoppening twice each party. Guests will see characters such as Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Aladdin, Jasmine and others. Tinker Bell and Captain Jack Sparrow follow along on their floats. The Gravediggers precede Constance Hatchaway, better known as The Black Widow Bride from The Haunted Mansion. You'll also see Hitchhiking ghosts, Disney villains and more! New for 2023, see Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle dressed as the Sanderson Sisters from "Hocus Pocus"!

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - Powerline Max

Returning for 2023, those waiting for the parade on portions of Main Street, U.S.A. can reminisce on classic '90s nostalgia with a dance crew led by Max Goof — cosplaying as Powerline from the popular "A Goofy Movie." He emerged from about halfway down Main Street. Guests can hop up and dance along with him (plus he sometimes makes appearances at the ZOM-BEATZ dance party on the Tomorrowland stage).

Tips for Meeting Characters at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Kids meeting Jack and Sally

We have some additional tips on meeting characters at the party:

  • Check the My Disney Experience app for character set times. This will help you plan out when to arrive. We suggest arriving just prior to the character set time to maximize your time, as lines can get extra long once people spot the character. Note that some characters don't meet during the parades.
  • That said, some characters continue to greet guests during the parade, and that can be a great time to visit, especially Jack and Sally! If you don't meet them during the pre-party time, we saw their line go down to about an hour around 9 p.m. while everyone else was lined up waiting for the first parade.
  • Have kiddos that are nervous to meet characters? Check out our guide to characters at Disney World for extra tips on interacting with characters (plus a list of all character locations during regular park hours).
  • Be sure to prioritize which characters you'll want to meet. There are only so many hours in the party and time will pass quickly, especially if you're also trying to see the trifecta of main entertainment — the parade, stage show and fireworks.
  • We recommend using some of the pre-party time to meet regular characters, such as the princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall or characters that will not be at the party, such as Peter Pan and Snow White.
  • It's always fun when you dress up in costume or a themed outfit and meet characters from the same story. You'll have an extra special interaction and create a magical memory.

Cast member here, and I can confirm that the wait times for Jack and Sally, and for the 7 Dwarves, are not published on the MDE app. The only way to view the wait times is to go to the meet & greet location.

Thanks for the great tip to stand in line for Jack and Sally as soon as you get in. When we went prior, they were always the longest wait. I am going solo this year as the Ghost Bride from Haunted Mansion. And I am so very excited!!

Hi Shelene!

We know that Max Goof will make appearances in pop-up Powerline dance parties around the park before the parade, but as far as a traditional meet-and-greet goes, we aren't too sure (more than likely not, but we'll be sure to keep an eye out when we attend the first party!).

Have attend this great Halloween party in the past it’s the best party ever, myself and my family had a great time. My only complaint is it’s very cold so you need to dress very warm.

Thanks for hopping by and sharing your experience, Angelina! We agree it's so important to check the weather — it can be hot if you go earlier in the season or it can be colder if it's late October!
