Disney Cruise Extras — Beverage Tastings

Led by knowledgeable crew members, beverage tastings are an additional cost activity hosted onboard the Disney cruise ships. These seminars are an exciting way to learn about and sample different adult beverages from around the globe. They include demonstrations, discussions, featured tastings and specialty drinks. There are seemingly endless options including tastings of wine, champagne, beer, cocktails and spirits. Most of the tastings are approximately an hour long and take place in one of the ship’s bars or lounges. The additional expense includes the beverages you enjoy during the class. Space is limited, so if you’re interested in attending, be sure to book it as soon as possible (our experience is that most of them sell out early)!

Types of Beverage Tastings

Disney Cruise for Adults - The Rose Bar

You'll find beverage tastings on every ship in the fleet, but the specifics will vary depending on your ship and itinerary. You can find the different seminars that will be available on your specific cruise once your advance booking window opens by logging into the Disney Cruise Navigator app or the Disney Cruise website.

The current selection of beverage tastings (subject to change):

  • Stem to Stern Wine Tasting and Champagne Tasting: Learn about proper tasting techniques, food pairings and the art of wine appreciation from wine experts. Champagne tastings share the history of champagne. You'll have the opportunity to taste and learn about the differences between a variety of champagnes.
  • Mixology Tasting: Learn how to craft classic cocktails and unique specialty drinks from skilled crew members. This fun and interactive tasting provides the history and techniques behind cocktail making while also experimenting with a variety of spirits, liqueurs and garnishes.
  • Beer Tasting: Sample craft beers from around the world while learning about brewing techniques and flavor profiles.
  • Spirits Tastings: Sip and savor a spirited nightcap or cocktail. These tastings include spirits such as bourbon, cognac, rum, whiskey, tequila and margaritas, martinis, mojitos and caipirinhas and Italian Amari drinks. There's even a chocolate & liquor tasting!
  • Kick-Start Your Day Beverage Tasting: Indulge in a signature mimosa, Bloody Mary and three nonalcoholic, craft juice beverages. This tasting is offered on the day your cruise sets sail and is approximately 30 minutes long.

The beverage tastings often follow the same or similar setup as the mixology tastings with an emphasis on one particular spirit. At some of the tastings, you're provided drinks made by the crew members. As for others, you'll get to create the cocktails alongside the crew members.

Reservations and Pricing for Disney Cruise Extras

These events are extremely popular and often fill up quickly. We strongly recommend that you make reservations early. Beverage tastings can be reserved once you have made your final payment and your advance booking window opens. Your specific booking window depends on your Castaway Club stats. Pearl members (completed 25 sailings) can add activities 123 days before sailing while Silver members (completed one sailing) can add activities 90 days prior. Guests sailing on their first Disney Cruise can book 75 days before sailing.

If you weren't able to score a beverage tasting reservation before sailing, be sure to head to Guest Services as soon as you board and ask to be added to the waitlist. We have personally done this in the past and it has worked out where we were able to join a beverage tasting that was initially full. Keep in mind that guests must be of legal drinking age to participate in beverage tastings.

The price of the beverage tastings varies. For example, we recently tried the mojito and caipirinha tasting on the Disney Dream. The class was $40 per adult and included information and instruction from a crew member on how to make several different mojitos. In total, we made four mojitos and we received a bonus drink! In comparison, our martini class was priced at $45 per adult, with the martinis being pre-made. The leading crew member shared information about the history of martinis along with details about the various martinis we sampled. Altogether, we tried five tasting-size martinis. Both classes were organized slightly differently but were SO much fun and lasted about an hour.

Adult-Only Dining Options

Each Disney cruise ship has at least one adult-exclusive dining venue. You're in for a treat at these swanky dining spots! These menus include gourmet dishes and the atmosphere is elegant but relaxed. Here, the meticulously crafted menus feature prix fixe or à la carte options, complemented by an extensive selection of fine and craft brews. These adult-exclusive restaurants are open to adult froggies. Perfect for date night — drop the tadpoles off at the kids clubs. Oh, and come hungry! The food is out-of-this-world and you'll want to maximize tummy space to savor it all!

Disney Cruise Extras — Palo dining room

These adults-only dining locations are popular and perfect for celebrating a special occasion! Making an advance dining reservation is highly recommended. Your booking window will be the same as your beverage tastings mentioned above. For assistance with dining reservations once onboard, you will want to visit the dedicated dining Guest Service location. Keep in mind that there is a dress code. You don't have to dress super fancy (unless you want to) but jeans in good condition (no holes), dress pants, collared shirts, dresses, skirts and blouses all work here. For brunch only, dress shorts are permitted.

Palo: Located on all Disney ships, Palo's atmosphere is elegant, offers frogtastic service and has an incredible menu inspired by the flavors of Northern Italy. For $50 per person, Palo offers both brunch and dinner. A la carte options are also available for dinner. Here, you'll find scrumptious dishes such as chicken parmesan, signature buffalo mozzarella, pennette pasta, pizzas, lasagna and the infamous chocolate soufflé, all expertly crafted by Disney's talented culinary team. While all the Disney cruise food is amazing, the brunch at Palo is easily our favorite. We highly recommend this Disney cruise extra experience!

Disney Cruise Extras — Remy table settingRemy: Remy is located on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. The venue is an intimate French-inspired restaurant named after the rat-turned-chef from Disney's "Ratatouille." The interior includes subtle references to the movie. Look out for Remy details on the chairs and other characters hidden throughout the restaurant. Dining here is an experience and includes a prix fixe menu for lunch and dinner. Both meal options are designed to be savored, so remember to sit back and take it all in as you sample multiple courses of outstanding dishes such as Maine lobster (Homard du Maine), cannelloni pasta, toothfish, duck and Kobe beef. Of course, the best is saved for last — dessert! Be sure to give yourself plenty of time. Our recent Remy brunch experience took approximately two hours.

Remy starts at $135 per person for dinner and $80 per person for brunch. For an additional cost, you can pair your meal with a wine tasting featuring vintages from around the world.

Disney Cruise Extras — two plates of gourmet dishes

Enchanté: Enchanté is located aboard the Disney Wish. Inspired by tales of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," Enchanté includes a menu filled with delectable French cuisine and is very similar to Remy. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround the beautifully decorated interior, adorned with blue, white and gold accents, offering stunning ocean views. Enchanté offers brunch and dinner with prix fixe menus. Dinners start at $135 and $80 per person for brunch.

Dessert Tasting at Enchanté and Remy

If you're a dessert lover, you'll want to indulge your sweet tooth at one of the decadent dessert experiences. The dessert tastings include a multi-course dessert menu served with coffee. Disney's talented pastry chefs craft all the treats, which range from artisanal chocolates to delicious pastries. At our most recent visit, the dessert courses included a creme brulee, macaron, Paris-Brest, Mille-Feuille Vanille, Chocolat Croquant and a beautiful citron which looked just like a real lemon! Each dessert portion was huge, so come prepared for all the froggerific treats (hello, stretchy pants!). The ship’s pastry chef treated us to a discussion about each sweet presented, briefly explaining the information alongside the delicious desserts. The dessert tasting is $65 per adult with the option for a wine pairing at an additional cost.
