The Expert Guide to Hollywood Studios Complimentary Transportation

Hollywood Studios Transportation - Pinterest ImageWalt Disney World is a big place — with four theme parks, two water parks, Disney Springs and more than 25 hotels, it can be tough to choose where and how to get where you want to go. Luckily, you can get almost anywhere within the resort using free transportation. This is especially hopful if you're staying on-site at a Disney Resort hotel, which we toadally recommend. But even if you're staying off-site and have a Park Hopper ticket, you can use the free buses, monorails and more to leap from park to park.

There are lots of options when traveling to and from Disney's Hollywood Studios. This park, which celebrates the magic and adventure of movies, is home to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, Toy Story Mania and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Disney's Hollywood Studios is also the home of the immersive Star Wars Land, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, where galactic adventurers can explore Batuu. Knowing all of the Hollywood Studios complimentary transportation options can save you time when traveling to this popular park.

Disney's Hollywood Studios Free Transportation Options

Disney Skyliner

Hollywood Studios Transportation - Disney Skyliner station at Hollywood Studios

Disney Skyliner, a sky-high gondola transportation system, includes a stop at Hollywood Studios. It connects EPCOT and Hollywood Studios with Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort. However, there is no direct line between EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. You'll have to hop off and transfer lines at the Caribbean Beach station. It's about a 12-minute ride from EPCOT to Caribbean Beach and a five-minute ride from Caribbean Beach to Hollywood Studios (don't froget to account for extra transfer time).

My off resort condo has a free shuttle to Hollywood Studios ONLY. I want the best way to get from there to Epcot. It appears that it doesn't take you to the main entrance. Can I use the entrance by France for normal (non resort, non park hopper) entrance around 9 or 10 a.m.?

Hi Kathy!

If you get dropped off Hollywood Studios, then we'd recommend taking either the Friendship boats or Disney Skyliner. Disney transportation usually starts about an hour before official park open, so we'd recommend getting dropped off right before transportation starts if you wish to rope drop. But overall, yes, once the park officially opens, you may use that entrance anytime during normal park hours.

Hi CTMom!

No — if you're at the Transportation and Ticket Center, you would only be able to take a ferry boat to Magic Kingdom.

How to get from Universal's Hard Rock Hotel to Disney's Hollywood Studios? I have a one-day, one-park ticket. I've never been to Disney and I'm nervous about getting lost in Florida.

The advice about going between Epcot and the Studios is not good. Skylines takes a loooooong time because of the transfer that requires waiting in long lines at the Skyliner station. And this does not include the Friendship boats as an option between Epcot and Studios in either direction but does to go to Boardwalk? What? That is messed up.

If you are staying offsite and do not have a park hopper pass can you still take the "one-way bus service is available from Hollywood Studios to Disney Springs after 4 p.m."?

Hi George!

Just an update that we were toadally wrong - sorry about that! Bus service to Disney Springs is only currently available from Disney resorts, not the theme parks at this time. We've updated our post accordingly. That said, there are rideshare stops at the theme parks for a quick hop to Disney Springs if you don't want to drive! We expect that the Disney Springs option will return in the future from the theme parks.
