Character Dining at the Disney Resorts…At a Glance

Are you looking for a Character Dining Experience outside the Disney theme parks? There are plenty of Character Dining options at the Walt Disney World Resorts, too! Here’s an overview to help you decide.Chef Mickey's

Chef Mickey’s

Location: Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Featured Characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy

Meal Details: Breakfast & Dinner – Buffet

Menu Samples: Breakfast – premium fruit bar, cereal, pancakes, Mickey Mouse waffles, eggs, omelets, pastries; Dinner – roasted chicken, carved beef, savory sides and kids’ favorites like mac ‘n’ cheese

Highlights: Chef Mickey’s is THE place to meet the Fab Five. Have an early breakfast here then take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom® Park. Lunchtime can be very crowded and noisy, but Mickey in a chef hat makes up for it. Another great option to have dinner here then watch Wishes fireworks show from the Observation Deck of the Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

1900 Park Fare

Location: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Featured Characters: (Breakfast) Mary Poppins, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh; (Dinner) Cinderella, Prince Charmin1900 Park Fareg, Lady Tremaine, the two stepsisters

Meal Details: Breakfast – Buffet; Afternoon – Wonderland Tea Party; Dinner – Buffet

Menu Samples: Breakfast – custom-made omelets, carved ham, mini pancakes, Mickey Mouse waffles; Dinner – prime rib, salmon, chicken Marsala

Highlights: The themed aspects of the character dining experiences here are extra special. Join Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter and other Wonderland friends for the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast. Cinderella, Prince Charming and other storybook characters host the Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner. If you want something "for kids only," check out the Wonderland Tea Party held in the afternoons. (If you’re not between 4 and 12, you’re not allowed.)

Cape May Café

Location: Disney’s Beach Club ResortCape May Cafe

Featured Characters: Goofy, Donald, Minnie Mouse

Meal Details: Breakfast – Buffet

Menu Samples: Mickey Waffles, fresh-baked pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt bar

Highlights: Fill up on a yummy breakfast next to Minnie Mouse at Cape May Café. (She’s dressed in her cutest swimsuit!) The Disney’s Beach Club Resort is within walking distance to Epcot®, so it’s a great choice if that’s the park you have on the schedule that day.

‘Ohana

Location: Disney’s Polynesian Resort'Ohana

Featured Characters: Lilo and Stitch, Mickey, Pluto

Meal Details: Breakfast – Family-style

Menu Samples: Scrambled eggs, Island-style fried potatoes, Hawaiian pork sausages, smoked bacon, fresh fruits and breads

Highlights: Lilo and Stitch will keep you in “stitches” during your character breakfast at ‘Ohana. The family style service is speedy, so an early breakfast will put you at the Magic Kingdom® Park in time for park opening.

Garden Grove

Location: Walt Disney World Swan

Featured Characters: Rafiki and Timon Garden Grove(Monday & Friday); Goofy and Pluto (all other nights)

Meal Details: Dinner – Buffet, Breakfast – Buffet (Saturday & Sunday only)

Menu Samples: Each night features a different themed buffet like Southern BBQ, Mediterranean Night and Seafood Sensation

Highlights: The Garden Grove is a Central Park-themed restaurant with a 25-foot oak tree that stands in the middle of the dining room. It’s a nice break for a quieter meal when the kids really want to meet a few characters.

Mickey’s Backyard BBQ Dinner Show

Location: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & CampgroundMickey's Backyard BBQ

Featured Characters: Mickey, Minnie and Friends

Meal Details: Dinner – All-you-care-to-eat buffet

Menu Samples: Barbeque smoked ribs, smoked chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, watermelon

Highlights: Mickey’s Backyard BBQ Dinner Show is technically not a Character Dining experience; it’s billed as a dinner show with character encounters. There’s a country-western band, line dancing and rope tricks. The best part is being able to boogie with characters on the dance floor!

Important Note: Due to the popularity of Character Dining, advanced reservations are strongly recommended. You make reservations up to 180 days in advance online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
