Disney Cruise Destinations Overview

In this post, we’re breaking down the basics of where you can sail with Disney Cruise Line and the destinations they visit.

Disney Cruise Line typically releases new itineraries a few times a year — usually once in late fall or early winter, and again in summer or early fall. These sailings are released about 15–18 months in advance, and as of now, itineraries are available through summer 2027.

The fleet currently includes eight ships, with the newest, the Disney Adventure, marking Disney’s first ship based internationally, sailing out of Singapore.

If you want a closer look at each ship in the fleet, head over to this post.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas are one of Disney Cruise Line’s most popular destinations, with ships sailing year-round. These cruises are typically 3- to 5-nights and work out great, especially if you don’t want to take much time off from work or school. They’re also easier on the budget and require less planning than longer sailings.

Most Bahamian itineraries visit one of two Disney’s island destinations: Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Some itineraries even visit both! Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island, exclusive to Disney cruise guests, complete with snorkeling, bike trails, a floating water park, an included BBQ lunch and an adults-only beach.

Disney Lookout Cay, located on the island of Eleuthera, has a completely different feel. The focus is on the Bahamian culture, with Disney touches sprinkled in. Here you can experience a live Junkanoo celebration, hands-on activities at the Goombay Cultural Center and island design created in partnership with local artists.

Many itineraries also stop in Nassau, where you can visit the Atlantis Resort, shop downtown or take a glass-bottom boat tour, just to name a few. The Disney Port Adventures include stingray experiences, beach day packages and guided cultural tours through the heart of historic Nassau.

Sailing from Port Canaveral is the Disney Wish (3- and 4-night cruises), the Disney Fantasy (3- to 5-night cruises) or the Disney Magic (4- to 6-night cruises seasonally). From Fort Lauderdale, you can take 3- to 5-night sailings on the Disney Dream or the all-new Disney Destiny.

For summer 2027, the Disney Dream will sail from Port Canaveral while the Disney Wish is in Europe.

The Caribbean

If you want a little more variety in port destinations and longer sailings, Caribbean itineraries are a nice balance of sea days and culturally rich destinations. Disney Cruise Line offers three Caribbean routes: Eastern, Western and Southern. Each comes with its own itinerary and variety of tropical escapes, historical sites and Port Adventures.

Eastern Caribbean

Eastern Caribbean cruises usually stop at Tortola, St. Thomas and St. Thomas. These islands are known for lush green hills, scenic views and plenty of ways to explore both nature and culture. In St. Thomas, you can relax on Magen’s Bay or visit Coral World Ocean Park for marine encounters. San Juan is also rich in history and adventure, from wandering the colorful streets of Old San Juan to hiking in El Yunque Rainforest, plus hands-on Puerto Rican cooking experiences. Tortola makes for relaxed beach days or exploring the unique rock formations at The Baths on Virgin Gorda.

Western Caribbean

Western Caribbean itineraries often include Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth (Jamaica) and sometimes Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. In Cozumel, you can snorkel colorful reefs at Palancar or explore ancient Mayan ruins in Tulum. Grand Cayman is famous for Stingray City, where you and your travel crew can interact with friendly stingrays in shallow waters. Falmouth is your gateway to Jamaican adventures like climbing Dunn’s River Falls or floating down the Martha Brae River.

Southern Caribbean

Southern Caribbean sailings are less common but highly sought after, usually departing from Port Canaveral. Ports include Antigua, St. Lucia, San Juan and St. Maarten. These stops let you hike volcanoes, sail on catamarans or learn chocolate-making from local artisans. For 2026, the Disney Fantasy has a 10-day southern Caribbean cruise in July. In April 2027, the Disney Dream will also have a southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan.

Ships & Itineraries

From Port Canaveral, the Disney Fantasy sails eastern and southern Caribbean cruises, visiting ports like St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay. The Disney Treasure alternates between Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral.

From Fort Lauderdale, the Disney Dream offers 5-night Western Caribbean cruises, while the Disney Destiny sails 5 to 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.

The Disney Magic runs seasonal Caribbean sailings from Galveston, San Juan and Port Canaveral, ranging from 5 to 10-nights.

Alaska & Pacific Coast

An Alaska cruise with Disney gives your travel crew a chance to see glaciers, wildlife and rugged landscapes without missing the comforts of Disney at sea. From dog sledding on snowy fields to salmon bakes and wildlife excursions by boat or floatplane, every stop offers something memorable. Booking a verandah stateroom lets you take in the scenery at your own pace, watching icebergs and mountains drift by as your adventure unfolds.

Sailing to Alaska with Disney Cruise Line means stepping into some of the most stunning scenery in the world. Most sailings depart from Vancouver, B.C., between late spring and late summer, when the weather is mild and the days are long.

Along the way, you’ll visit ports such as Juneau, where you can ride a helicopter onto a glacier or watch whales in their natural habitat. In Skagway, the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railway and gold-panning adventures bring the Gold Rush era to life. Ketchikan, tucked into the Tongass National Forest, is full of rainforest trails, totem parks and cultural experiences that showcase Native Alaskan traditions.

Ships & Itineraries

The Disney Wonder sails 5-, 7-, 8- and 9-night Alaska itineraries. Starting in 2026, the Disney Magic will join the route from Vancouver, adding even more sailings for travelers.

Europe

Disney’s European cruises take you to cities filled with history, culture, and unforgettable experiences. From prehistoric ruins to grand palaces, you’ll visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites across some of Europe’s most exciting and celebrated destinations. You can sail north for the best of the British Isles and the breathtaking fjords of Scandinavia, or head south for sun-splashed adventures through Spain, Italy, and the French Riviera.

In Barcelona, you can stroll through Gaudí’s colorful architecture and enjoy seaside dining. From Civitavecchia, spend the day exploring Rome’s Colosseum and Vatican City. In Marseille, you’ll find charming coastal villages and scenic drives, while Athens invites you to climb to the Acropolis and try authentic Greek cuisine. Farther north, Reykjavik offers glacier hikes, geyser fields and dramatic black-sand beaches.

If you’d like to extend your vacation, you can add an Adventures by Disney Escape to enjoy extra days before or after your cruise, for even more opportunity to see even more of cities like Rome, Barcelona or London.

Ships & Itineraries

In 2026, the Disney Dream sails 3-, 4-, 7-, 9- and 12-night itineraries from Rome, Barcelona and Southampton. These cruises visit the Mediterranean, Greek Isles, Northern Europe and Western Europe.

disney cruise destinations - disney wish grand hall

Disney Port Adventures include guided city tours, museum visits, castle excursions and family cooking classes — all led by expert local guides.

In summer 2027, the Disney Wish will take over for the European itineraries.

Hawaii

Disney’s Hawaiian cruises let you island hop across volcanic landscapes, lush rainforests and tropical beaches. These itineraries are aboard the Disney Wonder, are one-way sailings between Vancouver, Canada and Honolulu, Hawaii. Each cruise includes multiple island stops and several days at sea.

Ship & Itineraries

In 2026, a 10-night return sailing on the Disney Wonder from Honolulu visits Hilo, Kahului and Nawiliwili (Kauai) before arriving in Vancouver.

Port Adventures showcase Hawaii’s beauty and culture. In Hilo, you can explore Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, visit Akaka Falls or take a helicopter tour over volcanic craters. On Maui, drive the Road to Hana, spend time at the beach or attend a traditional Hawaiian luau. Kauai offers river cruises, Waimea Canyon hikes and snorkeling at Poipu Beach.

So far for 2027, Disney Cruise Line is not offering Hawaiian cruises.

Mexican Riviera & Baja

Disney cruises to Mexico combine relaxation with cultural exploration. Sailing from San Diego, these itineraries range from short 3- to 4-night getaways to full week-long Mexican Riviera trips.

Ship & Itineraries

Baja Mexico cruises stop in Ensenada and sometimes Catalina Island. In Ensenada, guests can see the blowhole at La Bufadora, explore wine country or enjoy coastal views. Catalina Island offers snorkeling, wildlife tours and scenic beaches.

Mexican Riviera sailings, typically 7 nights, visit Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. Cabo is known for dramatic sea cliffs and El Arco; adventures include kayaking, snorkeling and catamaran cruises. Puerto Vallarta blends city life and jungle escapes, with Port Adventures like tequila tastings, ziplining, dolphin swims and horseback riding.

Both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder offer these cruises in the spring and fall.

Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific

Disney sails seasonal cruises across Australia and New Zealand on the Disney Wonder, typically from late October through February, ranging from 3- to 5-nights.

Ship & Itineraries

Australian departures from Sydney, Melbourne and include ports such as Hobart, Tasmania, known for its natural beauty and Eden, a quiet port for whale watching and beach escapes.

New Zealand sailings from Auckland visit Wellington with its arts scene and Te Papa Museum, Napier for Art Deco architecture and wineries, and Christchurch via Lyttelton. Some trans-Tasman cruises combine both countries and may include scenic sailing through Fiordland National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site with fjords and waterfalls.

Port Adventures bring destinations to life: zip-lining in Rotorua, kayaking in Marlborough Sounds, vineyard tours in Napier and wildlife encounters in Australia. Cultural experiences, snorkeling and outdoor adventures make these sailings a full mix of land and sea exploration.

South Pacific

For remote island adventures, Disney’s South Pacific sailings are typically repositioning cruises between Hawaii and Australia aboard the Disney Wonder.

Itineraries

These extended cruises last 14–15 nights, with stops at Pago Pago (American Samoa), Suva and Lautoka (Fiji), Nouméa (New Caledonia) and Moorea and Papeete (French Polynesia). Multiple days at sea allow you to enjoy everything on board.

Port Adventures highlight snorkeling, local cultural encounters, paddleboarding and traditional island luaus.

Singapore

You can sail from Singapore aboard the all-new Disney Adventure on 3- or 4-night “Magic at Sea” sailings. These round-trip cruises stay in Singapore waters, so there are no additional ports of call — just nonstop Disney fun.

Onboard, you can explore seven themed areas, including Disney Imagination Garden, Marvel Landing, Toy Story Place, Wayfinder Bay, Town Square and Disney Discovery Reef.

Transatlantic & Repositioning Cruises

Transatlantic and repositioning cruises with Disney Cruise Line are one-way sailings that happen when a ship moves to a new home port for the season. A transatlantic cruise crosses the Atlantic Ocean, usually between Europe and the United States. These types of cruises naturally include extra days at sea and fewer ports. These one-way sailings typically occur in spring and fall when ships reposition between North America and Europe.

A repositioning cruise relocates a ship from one region to another, like moving from the Caribbean to the West Coast or from Alaska to warmer waters for winter. Because these are one-way trips, guests need to plan for travel arrangements before and after the cruise, but they often come with unique itineraries and extra value for the length of the voyage.

Ships & Itineraries

In spring 2026, the Disney Dream will sail a 14-night eastbound transatlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona beginning May 2. There are multiple repositioning cruises offered in summer 2026 as the Dream tours Europe.

Since the Disney Wish will be in Europe for the summer of 2027, there is a 13-night eastbound transatlantic sailing from Port Canaveral to Barcelona.

The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder also have repositioning cruises as they move from San Diego to Vancouver, B.C. for the Alaskan summer sailings.

In the spring and fall, the Disney Magic offers a Panama Canal repositioning cruise as it makes its way to San Diego from Galveston (and one on the way back), a 14-night voyage.
